  1. Never thought his value was in doubt. Biggest surprise was that Mick didn't chase him after the Blues missed out on Cloke - Dawes was vital to his game plan I thought.
  2. His break away pace makes him more valuable further afield though. The trick is getting the ball into his hands. Anyone know serious the injury is?
  3. Nope, not if you saw Wines game against the Pies :-) Jimmy's disposal efficiency is really deceptive - I thought he hit a lot more targets than the stats are giving him credit for. He also didn't duck out of contested situations last night. Much better, here's hoping he keeps improving.
  4. wish i was there, wish today had've worked out. oh well, it's great to see. very impressed by gawn again tonight, can be a serious player. frawley and watts very good, kent is very exciting, trengove has been getting much more involved. really wish we could stop liberatore getting clearances - if we could clamp down on him it'd help extend the lead even further. yes, i really said the LEAD!!!
  5. Might not be pretty but it's effective and that's all that matters. To be perfectly honest, remedial action has the potential to do more harm than good as it'll unsettle his mind. As he runs his head is nicely balanced and he kicks through the ball, and that's two very important things.
  6. Lovely dob from Davis. Hogan's ability to keep his feet and compete in the air and at ground level is very, very exciting.
  7. Some nice one-two one-two work from Barry and Strauss down back to work the ball through the blues defensive zoning.
  8. Gillies skills are woeful.
  9. Hogan to actually play down back? Can he be a bit like Hurley but more a forward who can play back than a backman who can play forward?
  10. I don't understand why Kruezer doesn't cop the attention that Watts does.
  11. Luke McDonald, that's the one. Kelly and Sheed both looked pretty good today.
  12. can we just settle for a star? (or two??)
  13. if you subscribe to afl live official app, you can watch via afl.tv in the menu lists. sheed looks good.
  14. who's kelly the son of? and why aren't north claiming him father-son as they are for alex mcdonald?
  15. no, it's not. it's 'bomber' thompson, named after 'bomba' from the tv series. always has been.
  16. binman's flights of fancy is nearly as dream-like as mine. head of football operations: neil balme head coach: paul roos backline coach: jade rawlings midfield coach: junior forward coach: leigh brown ruck coach: darren jolly
  17. isn't it sam mitchell who can kick longer off his left than his natural right?
  18. He literally leaped over the saints player and still had the free paid against him. Bizarre.
  19. Has pace too, something sorely lacking in our line-up.
  20. was gobsmacked he was still available at #4, i'd heard such good things about him in the sanfl, and then was so impressed by him in the under 18s last year. really disappointed with his lack of desire to go and get the ball. thought he'd be much more of a hunter, but it looks like he's a pure receiver at this stage in his development. has lovely skills by foot, just needs to add a lot of energy to his play - he sits back rather than gets involved at this stage, and his one-arm attempts at tackling are watts-esque. he'll get there, i hope. i mean, we have to don't we? we need some of our draft picks to come through and be guns. hopefully dmitri can be one.
  21. boyd is the consensus pick at this stage apparently. how that works if gws and the dees are the bottom two is anyone's guess - will gws want to add another tall to cameron and patton (and franklin)? same for the dees with clark, dawes, and hogan. although i have heard good reports elsewhere that he's more than capable in the ruck... crouch is as good as his brother from all reports.
