Petracca signs on until 2022
general rule of thumb is that when the media goes with the kangas throwing big bikkies at a player they're that much closer to staying at their incumbent club

Petracca signs on until 2022
great stuff, here's to three premierships, a brownlow one year and a norm smith the next, and then one of each to top it off!

Lions Trying to Avoid "Doing a Melbourne"
they were talking about this on the commentary even jono brown said 'well they didn't have 20-odd off-season surgeries; in fact they didn't have one, so that's a good start'

Training Ground?
adelaide's current facility is a massive white elephant tho; commissioned, planned and effectively completed before the pear pushed the afl / sanfl to make the move to adelaide oval it's primary second function beyond football / admin WAS a social club...and with west lakes being a swamp a journey and a half from the city where they now play, it's been a real millstone around their neck

NON MFC: 2020 Marsh Series
Methinks the Saintsโ past players and supporters passion was about having footy back at Moorabbin last night I cannot get excited about preseason games Iโm not a fan of nfl, but one thing they do well is not giving preseason as much oxygen - itโs straight into competitive games not this glorified training malarkey

Training Ground?
our best option probably remains a rebuild of the richmond train station and the way it works as part of gosch's paddock precinct as well if niall says we're after state govt money, then that would be the likely option

MFC Strategic Plan for Next 4 Years
interesting that we're continuing to invest time and resources into casey; at least from a "will continue to develop Casey Fields as our secondary high-performance facility. We will play our AFLW, VFLW and VFL home games as well as an AFL pre-season game at Casey Fields" standpoint i have no idea what the facility is like out there now - i've been out there i reckon three times in the last seven years and it's just way too far away for me to be that interested in going out there, plus parking was a nightmare i'm told that signing the 30-year agreement with the city of casey was done by cameron schwab and paul gardiner? here's a tangential case study on the tigers leaving their green site of craigieburn behind: https://home.id.com.au/case-studies/richmond-football-club/ i wonder how much benefit we get out of the casey alignment other than monetarily from the city of casey - as a matter of interest, did schwab / gardiner do the deal with the corrupt council that is apparently in place there now?

MFC Strategic Plan for Next 4 Years
what, you mean like appointing burgess? richmond got balme, one of the calmest and best football 'heads' in the game; we got one of the most-respected fitness people in world sport it's fairly obvious that they are doing their level best to address shortcomings which involves increasing football spend to surround with best in world class, developing a home base (lofty vision) and delivering on-field to elicit natural growth of membership from latent supporters are those that have pilloried the vision / strategy approach being publicly presented the same to scoff at the Tigers' version of the same? for mine the big difference being they were coming from a significantly higher base of support, membership, and corporate opportunities, in quite some way as a result of already having a long-established home base

Annual General Meeting
i knew it was coming and i must admit i wasn't interested in going they didn't mention, however, that they were launching the red and blue print for 2020-23 at it but, it's amazing, there's this wonderful / terrible thing called the internet! and i can watch the speeches from the launch of it from the comfort of my own home! miracles will never cease edit: i definitely got sent a proxy form too fwiw

Gary Pert on SEN (18/2/20)
i like to think that round 7 is still early...ish into the season plus it gives him a solid (4-)6 weeks into the season to 'get his loads up'

so may back by round 7, then?

MFC Strategic Plan for Next 4 Years
loving the lofty aims of it - much as i loved the tigers' bold planning under o'neal and gale as well - but i want to see results, as do all of us i'd imagine as @poita said, what's in no doubt is that no finals in 2020, no goodwin in 2021 - stinear will hopefully make finals this year given the strong start to the aflw team's season so should be there next season at this stage ceo and board role is clear too - they must deliver on getting us a home base and finding new revenue opportunities whilst maximising membership otherwise they're gone by 2023; board has essentially bought itself some extra years, while pert has four years of a five year contract left would love to see them all pull it off agree with @I'va Worn Smith - anyone expecting any 'detail' on how they aim to achieve it are asking for far too much - it's more 'strategic aims' than 'strategic plans' but that's exactly what a vision / strategy document is all about we've just done one at my work and it's the same broad-based statement for public consumption

2020 Pass Mark
Cos any time you donโt make finals is a fail We can only go on recent history, and that has us, what, a narrow 1 point win game off wooden spoon placing? After five years of linear growth our slide last year exposed how many gaps we still have in our line-up and how atrocious our skill level remains
