  1. i'll be in afl members, as i have for the last 12 or so years of moving back to melbourne i know it happens - i've seen the videos - but i've never seen an issue of violence or abuse; for the most part the bonhomie amongst various supporters is the best thing about attending sport in this country i can't wait for monday should be a crackerjack contest i definitely do NOT want a one point win with spargo goaling from a free kick after the final siren; my mfcss sees me generally having kittens if our lead is less than 42 points at 3/4 time
  2. my favourite comeback to 'gone skiing' during the football season is 'ugh...as if we ski LOCAL! japan or aspen only, daaaaaaaaaarling' being fickle elitist rich snobs is one of the best stereotypes in sport
  3. there is no 'going home from work then to the footy' on a friday these days for the majority of people based upon what i see and my experience, the work: life balance adjusted by covid, particularly in victoria, sees most office workers wfh on a friday
  4. i've seen that one, but the one most people tend to use is 'the dreamons'
  5. it's why i'm taking nothing for granted born in 79, started following footy in the mid-80s, and if we make finals this year it'll be only the second time in my lifetime we've made post-season in three consecutive years since 87-91 under northey last year was the first time since 59-60 we've finished top two in consecutive seasons loving the journey - just want us to frank it with some glorious premierships
  6. made of tissue paper? their core - bont, english, naughton, daniel, liberatore, macrae, dale, smith, juh, novax jones - is very strong but their depth falls away the way bevo has turned lobb into a wingman is an interesting change of role
  7. I am unfortunately Itโ€™s very annoying also worth beating in mind this is based on ranking teams in terms of premiership chance rather then whether theyโ€™ll make finals or not - Flagmantleโ€™s start to the year will definitely hurt their chances
  8. i think you can throw a blanket over a bunch of teams personally the notion of playing bears up there or the pear at the oval in a final would make me feel nauseous, as would the sound of the filth's braying mob if i had to rank sides as likely contenders at this stage i'd have the order as: the filth the pear the bears us puddy tatts flagmantle footscray crom gc17 peptides aints bloods tiggas gw$ carltank poos&wees kangas meth coke other than the bottom three or four, it's a pretty even competition and any team could surprise on their day it's good for football
  9. dunno why this is being discussed in the casey match day thread, but fwiw i thought chin was outside fritsch's line of vision - he wasn't in the square, he was running into it from a fair distance outside, and fritsch was far better off kicking the goal from his position than attempting a handball along the ground to chandler, as he couldn't possibly go over the encroaching carlton player he was in perfect position to kick the goal, and he did
  10. keeps flagmantle one spot further down
  11. big crowd from the looks of things
  12. i really hope we are targeting larkey as a pre-agent at the end of the season
  13. since he goaled north have stopped - hit by the karma bus, perhaps
  14. kangas all over the peptides at the moment
  15. sounds like he's tracking nicely as a developing mid - is that his likely role at afl level? will he get a chance to play vfl, like other youngsters?
  16. gc17 are going to be super tough to beat going forward nucleus of a really good side there
  17. an oldie but a goody
  18. whereas kmart dusty at the filth's intention was to physically hurt the meth coke bloke
  19. puddy tatts getting more soft ones than footscray tonite smorgon will have to write a stern letter
  20. i watch casey's every game he was much better earlier in the season when he didn't have additional talls competing in the same role positives based on what i've seen: he runs to the right spots his hands are quite good his kicking shows penetration and accuracy negatives based on what i've seen: he doesn't appear to have much tank he's as skinny as a rake his hangs his head when things don't go the way he wants you're just another hanrahan, typical of too many on this platform that want perfection and only ever look for the negative
  21. Yeah doesnโ€™t impose himself on the game with physicality but always runs to the right spots and is a lovely kick both at goal and around the ground
  22. Brown and Jefferson played target roles well and Schache as the ruck-forward was excellent Woewodin and JJ very good thru midfield, and Laurie made smart decisions Smith did a lot well but also a few howlers, while Turner and Adams combined well without having a huge impact It was a quality game
  23. lochkart just poleaxed grey
  24. thriller diller as a sideshow bald strong mark at chf hits up shache and dees are back in front by a point
