  1. He is far from a great player. He doesn't defend for a start. And his kick it long to nothing style would fit right in with us. I'd rather see less of that, not more. Another example of a Collingwood player being overrated, because he plays for Collingwood. There's a reason knowledgeable Pies fans would rather O'brien be squeazed out before anyone else.
  2. Time for a 4 week training camp with Frank Mir. [media=]
  3. Bang. If it wasn't already over for Carlton, is it now. Way to lead, superstar.
  4. Did anyone watch Weidman v Munoz? Read on if you did Some very good fights on this card, one of the prelims, Craig vs Natal was just crazy, great fight, great comeback win, it's a shame it wasn't a main card fight. Te Huna, what an effin' beast. Like a 205lb Overeem. Credit to Beltran for being made of bricks, no wonder he could hang with heavywheights. Loving Te Huna's work, reckon it should be Te Huna v Gustaffson II for a title shot. I think I made a comment somewhere in this thread about Weidman being a future title holder, think I finally got something right! This kid has all the tools, stand up is good, BJJ is outstanding as is his wrasslin', strength and ground and pound are brutal. Chael should take some notes. A complete domination of a very good opponent, then one of the coolest elbows I've ever seen and maybe the most brutal late stoppage I've seen. Nice.
  5. There's nothing to get over, he's not a player worth paying highly for, and he won't reach lofty heights like a top pick should. It's simply a case of just not liking the little [censored], and having a bit of fun discussing how average he is. This is footy, we've been giving it to opposition players for years, as if a soulless, lying scumbag with an abnormally bloated dad is going to be immune from some harsh, yet completely fair comments. Don't like it? You know the drill.
  6. All the best. Best thing he did in years was decide to leave, saved us all a lot of frustration, some coin, and saved a few of our players from a visit to Epworth. I'm thankful for his service in the earlier years, not so much the latter years.
  7. He hit a couple of targets today, surprised me, never seen him do that before. On the hole, he was pretty useless, about their 5th best midfielder, yet paid way more than any of them and more than just about every player in the league, you've gotta laugh at that. Grant Thomas reckons Beams isn't worth 500k a season, I hope he doesn't find out how much Scully is on, he might drop dead. On a semi related note, Naitanui hasn't fired a shot since his supposed break out game against Carlton when he kicked that ripping point. Had about a touch today.
  8. Nah. Beams is the real deal, and I'd love him at the Dees. Don't mind Wellingham, but he's the type the shines in a good team, not sure how he'd go amongst our garbage. Way too big of a price to pay. Maybe for Beams, Wellingham and Reid.
  9. Not to mention they are often wrong. Sellar was listed as 100% DE against GWS from 16 disposals, I checked the tape, he had a direct clanger when he kicked it to Dean Brogan. This is the first and only time I've checked if this stat was 100% accurate, my conclusion is that they (whoever they are) can write any old percentage down and no one will know any different. Your eyes are the best stats, unless you're an idiot.
  10. Couldn't care less. However, having watched a fair bit of GWS, just wanted to say that this guy doesn't impress me at all. In fact I reckon he's rubbish.
  11. Desperate times call for desperate [censored] to go to desperate measures. You could tell as soon as Anderson stopped the first takedown, his shoulders and whole demeanour changed, got relaxed and into the zone. If Chael was clean in this fight, there was no way he'd have the strength and stamina to keep taking Anderson down for 5 rounds. (A lot of people forget/forgot how good Silva's takedown defence is, and how having the testosterone of 17 men is not just illegal, it's illegal because it makes you insanely strong). I think Chael realised that once Anderson stuffed the early 2nd round attempts, then he felt how hard those strikes are (that look like nothing) and started to panic, and threw that backfist. If that backfist did connect, probably would've knocked Silva clean out, the idiot put everything into that, only Anderson could casually duck that and make you look like more of a tool than you already are. Then the almost illegal knee from heaven, how sweet it was. I've read people saying he tried to or did throw an illegal strike, yeah, the most accurate striker in history accidentally missed the head and luckily hit the chest, lolz. I wish it went for longer, but in the end it was the most satisfying UFC win I've ever enjoyed. Good on Chael for building it up to that level. I was glad Forest won, but then he pulled that lame [censored] at the end and lost me. They're both a couple of knobs. I'm kinda sad to see such a villain go in Tito. Then again he mentioned his surgeries another 47 times after the fight, so he can [censored] off. Hey, did you know Tito had surgery?? Glad Cung Le won, give him Anderson in China, Bruce Lee would love it! The body shot on that hillbilly freak Cody McKenzie was the 2nd best highlight of the night. I agree though, apart from the excitement of the main event, the card was a bit of a yawn, prelims were boring too.
  12. It's pretty simple from where I sit. It's a professional sport, act like a professional. There are members paying money to hopefully one day witness the ultimate success. There are coaches putting in countless hours to try and develop these guys into the best athletes they can be. Drinking, taking unnecessary drugs and missing training sessions is letting every down, and you deserve all you get. These guys get all sorts of sh/t for free on top of the huge salary they earn, glamours hanging off them that wouldn't look twice at them if they were elbow deep fixing your dunny... So they have to give up the typical Aussie larrikin lifestyle for 10 or so years. That's probably a good thing.
  13. Silva v Sonnen II Any interest?
  14. Pretty sure the whole team took sleeping pills at quarter time last Saturday. We'd have to be some sort of chance this week in what will be a horrible game to watch.
  15. Seriously WTF is this?^ Ohhh, thank you, Bing.
  16. It's Hesher, but yes it's a great movie. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of the best actors going around. Tom Hardy's performance in Bronson is also fantastic. Weird movie, true story too! 50/50 is pretty good. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogan. It's about cancer. Super. A different super hero movie. I Saw The Devil. For foreign cinema fans, Korean, bloody violent and intense. If you've seen Oldboy (if you haven't you're missing a classic) you'll probably like this. Some documentaries worth checking out: A Noble Lie - Oklahoma City 1995. About the bombing obviously, just unbelievable what that government covers up. Talhotblond. Cyber world dating, lies and murder, oh my! Paradise Lost 3. The 3rd instalment in the West Memphis 3 story, probably only need to watch this one if you can't be bothered with the first 2, disturbing stuff. Project Nim. About a chimp raised as a human. Would appreciate any other doco recommendations.
  17. The agility will be the problem with that ankle injury. So laps, fitness and strength until they reckon he's ready to go. Hurry up.
  18. Something like... "how much does yous c$&@s reckon weel win ar chwelf in a row by dis week?" Sadly, I wouldn't mind if we had those conversations.
  19. You realise we're playing Richmond? Have you seen him against Richmond? Drop the rest of the team for letting him smile, he'll just about beat the tigers on his own.
  20. At least it's Sydney that got him, I can enjoy watching him. Most other teams and I'd probably hate him. geez he's good.
  21. Good, I'm a fan and glad he may be able to fight for his place on the list now. Good luck.
  22. I didn't post about the song, but I did see Riv miss Chip calling for it. I like that the defenders are getting hungry for goals, I was hoping that Tommy McD would shank one through after one of his dashes forward, it'll come. Watts too, that'll look nice.
  23. I lol'd. Remember Bailey actually did this so we could lose against Richmond, now we do it so we can win.
  24. When does he move into the midfield.
