  1. The fact that we can't easily name the 4 tells me that Neeld probably overvalued 3 of them. Magner is the ONE, obviously. Watts was OK. Still waits to tackle rather than get it first. If OK is a pass mark for Watts then that problem will never get solved. Martin? I didn't see anything that made him stand above the others. Trengove was OK, nowhere near his best, but he's in the four by default. My point is there weren't 4 very good players. And if 3 of them did exactly what Neeld wants, well maybe he should leave himself in Melbourne next week.
  2. I like you, Mr Neeld.
  3. I'm not judging anyone, I just have no sympathy for him. He brought it on himself. As for me, I wish kicking a drug addiction was my biggest problem. I've been around drugs my whole life, I hang around with musicians. One of my closest friends is a recovering addict. 6 years ago I was watching us get destroyed by St Kilda when I got a text message telling me my best friend was dead from an overdose. She was 24. I loved her, still do, but I she and I knew it was her own stupid fault for getting into it. I understand drug culture, I have no sympathy for those who create their own problems.
  4. How did Ben's problem start? Was it being homeless and alone? Was it the abusive parents that drove him to drugs? Was it the hard life, working in a factory all day, struggling to make ends meet? Was it... Hang on, he's had a privaliged life, good parents, money, physically gifted and a dream career. His 'problem' is that he's a party boy. He likes to party and do drugs. If anyone thinks that's a problem worthy of sympathy, well maybe you need to meet some people with real problems.
  5. I think regardless of what anyone thought of blazers before today, the memory of today will be attached whenever we see them in the future.
  6. Is that banjo maroon?
  7. Pluck. Or plook in Irish.
  8. I just got home, I don't even get that emotional over people I know personally. It was very moving. Nice to see the spectrum of people that were there. Seeing the Wiz there made me choke up, again. I'm glad I was there, also glad I'll never have to do it again. RIP Jim
  9. I consider myself lucky to have followed, met and shared an interest with such a great person. A truly great human being once took the time to come over and initiate a conversation with me, a new president, left me with a feeling of warmth, and a faith in where this club would go. It was a moment I'll never forget, and now look back on and truly cherish. I will think of Jimmy whenever I'm challenged, and I'll give my all to that challenge right until the end. I've always thought if I could be fondly remembered by a few people when I'm gone, then I'd be happy with that. Jimmy would be over the moon with the universal out pouring of love for him, and his family. He has left behind a gigantic footprint, a life that will be admired and never forgotten. Condolences to his family, and everyone who has felt his passing. RIP Jimmy.
  10. Look at the positives, Collingwood must be absolute garbage if they lost to us. Another positive, we accidentally just got a goal...
  11. 4 goals - against Port Adelaide - in greasy conditions where he hung out the back and was gifted a few. Anyone sitting in a small forward position can have their lucky day, that was his. It's an extremely hard position to play, I personally think it's one of the hardest positions to play, when you think of all the talented players across the league that have played the small forward role, and just suddenly gone missing, been delisted or shifted to another position. I don't think Bennell has the smarts, strength, tenacity or perseverance to succeed as a small forward. Which is a shame, because his speed and occasional flare would be handy, and we are lacking in that area. I'll actually be surprised if he keeps getting a game under Neeld, he has done nothing this pre-season and seems the sort of player than Neeld supposedly will not tolerate. Maybe he thinks he can make a Leon Davis down back out of him, I won't hold my breath.
  12. Is this a status update?
  13. Apparently Kyle Noke did his knee early on, that explains a lot! Top effort to keep fighting regardless.
  14. Great stuff! That Frawley chase on Jetta is one of the greatest highlights I've ever seen, never get tired of watching it, it's inspirational. Doesn't give up.
  15. Unless your mark is outside 50, you can't score a 9 pointer unless you play on to someone else. So you don't exploit it by going back 30m and wheeling off your line Buddy style as we've all just discussed. Most players know this, there we're a couple of one-two's attempted in last years nab cup, it's the only way around it. Next year will be interesting when there's a basketball ring at the top of each goal post, worth 1 million points if you kick it in one of them I believe. Kick it in from outside 50 and you are the king of Moomba the following year.
  16. This is an actual badge from family day.
  17. One of those rare nab cup rules that makes sense.
  18. The free was inside 50 against Thomas, the mark has to be outside 50 for a SG.
  19. Sydney. Well the McCall / Johnson decision was a joke, and has been announced that it was a mistake and was meant to be a draw. I love this sport, but come on, when will amateur hour be over? It's about time people started losing their jobs over mistakes like these, then maybe they'll stop happening. McCall won in my opinion. There will be a rematch. The good: Hippo Perosh! Is there a fighter that makes you laugh when you see he's won more than this guy? I mean he's a big goon who looks like he'll help you in the whitegoods department in Harvey Norman, then he somehow gets you on the floor, chokes you or pounds the shoit out of your face. Good on him! Love it. If Jones thinks he could handle it, give him a shot at the Hippo. James Te Huna (or according to Chael, Tuna). Holy mother of New Zealand, this guy is vicious! That was just brutal McFlurry action. I'm surprised there's not more of a hype machine behind this kid, he's been very impressive, an unlucky loss against Gustafsson who I rate very highly, Te Huna even looked good in that fight. Hope he gets someone big, Shogun, Machida, Hendo... Maybe Bader? I can see that happening. Hitman Kampmann. Another week another epic comeback. I like this guy, I have no idea how he managed to win this. The slick submissions, can't remember the names but their was some great BJJ on display. The Bad: Noke: Yuck. Sloppy Joe. Looked good for 3 minutes, looked horrible for the last 12. Alves. Why oh why would you go for the takedown? Where's the Pitbull? Going for the points instead of the killer finish and he paid for it. So stupid. Having Chael in the studio crossed. The man needs to be in an institution, not on my TV.
  20. The NAB oob rule f's our game plan in the A. So I'm glad we're putting in a half decent show under the conditions. New found ball winning ability and stoppages around the boundary will work for us. Especially with Clark, Howe and Petterd up forward to contest, it's a plan that will suit our players. We never had the experience or speed to succeed using that handball jargon. And thank christ we got Clark, he could be that big star forward we need. Watts will just be a player, sublime at times, but too little too often, he'll live through it because of all the execuses until one day we'll wonder where the time went. Would love to be wrong, but when you see him stand there watching Petterd and Martin do what he should be doing, your heart sinks. We've looked rushed in these three games when we have the ball, I think we'll improve as we settle into the season and become accustomed each other and the new plan. Jones, Magner, Couch and Petterd very good. Garland cracked me up, half a shocker and half a ripper. Not as impressed with Sellar as everyone else, I like Davis and hopes he removes Sellar or Rivers. Howe has it all. MacDonald is gone as soon as the injury list shrinks, 3 shockers in a row, this one was putrid. Jamar looks as reliable in the air as ever, and is doing the percentage long field kick rather than a panicked handball. All in all I'm happy with what I've seen, Watts being the only negative. Oh and Bennell. Lol @ the amount of games he's played, what has he amassed, 8 possessions?
  21. Does that old bird on the fence with the blue trackies from the 90's North Friday night games post here?
  22. I think his dad shovels elephant [censored], so he'll be working under Phil.
