I agree with the Kent hit. He didn't flinch, got smashed and jogged off. It set the standard and I thought we were much harder than them all day. The end to end Tyson goal was a thing of beauty and defined how [censored] ugly we've been to watch over recent years, and the great football we Demons supporters have not been able to enjoy. Gave me goosebumps.

Nathan Jones robbed him of two possessions after he played on from frees Beayshaw earnt. Drop Jones. What a difference it makes for kids coming into a team that plays well, do your thing, lay some tackles, get involved... Usually it's get subbed on when we're getting smashed and chase a possession amongst the chaos, or get built up as the messiah and crumble under the pressure. But he was clearly ready, I'd go as far as to say he was harder at it than all 22 Gold Coast players.

Most fun I've had watching a half of footy in a long time, almost don't wanna post this because I'll jinx the rest of the game. Garlett should spend a lot more time in the middle as the year goes on. Brayshaw having an excellent impact on debut, should be a thread about it... Lumumba on the wing is excellent. I'm not worried about Viney on Ablett, no one will do any better and Viney is more likely to hurt him than anyone else. We look classy off half back for the first time in a long time. No Grimes holding it up for 15 seconds then chipping sideways. What I'm most happy about is we're going hard as [censored], and putting a score on the board. Come on Dees keep it going!

I didn't laugh once. But humour isn't really my thing.

Viney has been woeful. Tyson will get it done when the real stuff starts, I'm not worried about him, although he hasn't had a decent preseason game. The rest have shown me nothing to get enthused about, and against mostly mediocre or second string midfields. I haven't seen any of Brayshaw this preseason, my point was it wouldn't be hard to get a gig in this team.

Even if he hadn't played well, the rest of the midfield - bar Jones - have played him into round one with their [censored] poor form.

The Good: The 1 Amigo and Vandenhoogenkamp The Bad: The game plan, the skills and the majority of players. The Ugly: Jack Godfrey, I mean Viney, Jack Viney.

I reckon it is, Old Dee.

Too many grey areas, too many liars, cheats, too much pressure to succeed. You start letting one or two off lightly then everyone will plead they are simpletons. There's a list. Don't take what's on it, or pay the price.

I hope this doesn't tarnish his good guy reputation.
