  1. With the global financial crisis worsening I don't believe the new clubs will come in on schedule if at all. West Sydney is years away from being a viable proposition. Would the clubs accept a bye? I think not - especially if some clubs end up with two byes in a season and others have one bye. It's messy enough as it is now. Perhaps Vlad should bite the bullet and take another look at Tasmania's proposal. At least they have a state government and a major sponsor behind them!
  2. Harris is a bit of a pie chucker, especially on a flat pitch like this. South Africa should be attacking the batsmen's stumps a bit more.
  3. Collingw&%$ 1.9.4 (67) to Essendon 1.3.6 (33) at the long break. Is it half time over there yet?
  4. faultydet and gsmith on 'ology. We trail 1.1.7 to 1.3.9. Jones, Valenti & Rivers doing well early. Rivers is on Brown.
  5. First blood to the Dees. Goal to Ricky Petterd.
  6. Kicking into the teeth of a roaring gale according to faulty on 'ology. I assume the start was 7.30pm Queensland time which was a few minutes ago!
  7. How's your bank balance?
  8. This is probably only rumour and I can't vouch for it as fact in any shape or form and I definitely didn't hear about it from KB or anyone connected with the media but I was told he had a groin problem and was being rested to ensure it doesn't develop into OP. Could be wrong though and I hope he's picked to play in our next practice game.
  9. You're a few hours too late with that pathetic response.
  10. Answer: Read Demonland
  11. Good stuff. Just watched the latest Doctor Who last week. Good to see he's still fighting the good battle after all these years.
  12. Just a question. Who's responsible for the tag "Compulsory Reading"?
  13. There is a place for that sort of drivel but IMO the place is definitely not a football club supporters site. If I wanted to take part in that type of discussion I'd register on a Monty Python site or voluntarily admit myself into an asylum.
  14. DEMONS SECURE $2M IN DEAL MELBOURNE DEMONS THROWN LIFELINE FEUDING AFL AND MCC BURY HATCHET MELBOURNE SIGNS 16,000 PRE-CHRISTMAS MEMBERS We're in the money!
  15. If we pinched him from anybody it was Collingwood who had him down to play a few games in their VFA team earlier this year. He played well but had to go home. The Pies apparently wanted to draft him but there was a snafu with his draft papers. By the time it was resolved it was too late for the national draft so I think we've possibly picked up a bargain.
  16. Only spoke to the Tigers. Looks a decent type; any info on his height, weight etc.?
  17. Probably the last training session for the year at Casey then.
  18. Call me a cynic but today's HUN has a picture on the back page of Polak at training and doing ruck work. He looks pretty advanced in his recovery to me. What is it that makes his case different to any other player with a debilitating long term injury? If he's not right to go at the start of 2009 then why can't he just go on the long term injury list and Richmond promote a rookie as the rules already provide? To make a special rule at this stage would set a precedent. Clubs could claim extra picks simply because they had players with long term injuries. Robbo was injured in mid season and all reports suggest that he'd be struggling to get himself right by the start of the season. What would stop us from applying for some special consideration to get an extra pick in the PSD too? To me, this is a case of draft tampering if it's allowed at this late stage of proceedings.
  19. ... because it's easier if you draft a Ritchie Cunningam than to draft a Fonzie!
  20. There's an article on the Wide World of Sports site that compares Watts with Riewoldt - Watts and Riewoldt - a bit of history repeating? by Grant Thomas.
  21. Simpleanswer. We have first pick in the PSD. Invite him to train over the next few weeks and get a close hand view as to whether he has the hunger to train and play AFL.
  22. That shouldn't stop you from having a bet!
  23. The more I read about this draft the more I believe we are going to add at least four quality players to the stable for next year. Good luck Mr. Prendergast and thanks to Stevo!
  24. Her smokey at 25 would be an ideal player to have present for our VFL alignment announcement (whenever that may be)!
  25. It's a Mates of Melbourne function. Anyone around here going?
