Why can't we beat Port Adelaide? No Tredrea, no Kane Cornes, terribly out of form and wanting to finish as low as possible on the ladder.

I think we're better of than a number of clubs that will need to start rebuilding in the next year or two. It won't be easy with all of the concessions to the new clubs while at lweast we have started the process and will have three picks in the top 20 plus first in the PSD. we should get back quite a few next year after their injuries this year.

The Bombers jumper will have a yellow ring on its sleeve. Perhaps with hindsight we could have replaced the silver on our clash jumper with the colour yellow as well. It probably would have looked a darn sight better.

Smart talker this Vlad, Says he wants to help promote closer relations between the MFC and the MCC when he knows that Jim and his people have plans in this area and have already been working hard at cementing relations. The MFC and the MCC need each other to be successful and IMO they will work things out v. soon. Then Vlad can take some of the credit.

Welcome Maric and good to have Mac back. With Ausie out this week, does it mean the club could quietly sneak in another emergency?

Some news on Benny Holland here as well as some intersting stuff on other players including Jack Grimes:- Jack Grimes, who was selected at No.14 in last year's NAB AFL Draft, but has battled back and groin injuries this season, was progressing positively via the Sandringham seconds. "He's playing at Sandy seconds on purpose and is only having limited game time, as part of a long-term strategy, so we only want him to play there so he can get conditioned, before he plays Sandy seniors," Monaghan said. "So regardless of his form, he won't be considered for Sandy seniors for at least another two or three weeks and that's just part of his conditioning program."

The original club was the Springvale Scorpions whose colors were navy blue with a red collar (rather than a Melbourne V). Therefore, there should be no difficulty having the clubs marry up their colours. CASEY FIELDS EARMARKED FOR 'WORLD CLASS' SPORT STADIUM

Magpies come to rescue of Demons "COLLINGWOOD, which will this year post a record eighth consecutive operating profit in excess of $1million, has put its support behind the financially struggling Demons by offering to continue playing Melbourne next season on the Queen's Birthday public holiday. Melbourne, which is $4.5m in debt and expects to lose between $1.5m and $2m this year, will net about $400,000 from the round 11 match at the MCG, which attracted just under 60,000." That loss figure just keeps on going up.

A TEST FOR THE MEMORY BANK - Match review v Sydney
Blistering replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good to see the mix here as well as it reflects the fact that we're becoming younger and there's definitely a changing of the guard. -
I like this one:- "He also ran a 15.1 beep test at the 2007 NAB AFL Draft Camp and his play has been likened to Brett Kirk of the Sydney Swans."

not his wife. its the pet chihuaha

I actually think the selection of Jamar is a good one because it gives us an extra tall that was so sadly missing up forward last week. Thw fact that we have a tall player on the forward line means players like Aaron and Aussie can crumb around the goals instead of having to compete with the monsters for marks. Good move!
-
If that's the case then why all of the drama? Either name him and play him or don't name him and don't play him.
-
There has clearly been no change in club policy about keeping members in the dark about player injury situations. If this was a strategic or tactical thing I could understand but these are young players who won't be playing in the seniors this week so why clam up about their condition?
-
That's a much fairer assessment than the bogan who writes this blog on behalf of the Magpies - http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/afl/fan...he_snowbunnies/

And going by the free kick count of 19-8 in favour of the Crows it looks like the maggots are having their usual influence too (although I don't suggest the result would be any different)! Why don't we get home town decisions like some of these interstate clubs get?
-
Given that we played our skipper in the same role for the first five weeks of the season, would that come into it as a criteria? I like the idea. It's worth a try and it would extend a lot of opposition defenders if it worked. If it doesn't work then Neita's back in Round 13 ... maybe and Newton ... well, who knows?
-
If we can win tomorrow by about 10 goals we will have doubled our percentage since round 1. If that happens then Bailey can have the coaching gig for life!
-
Based on Bazza's assessment we are going to have some trouble replacing Brad Miller at CHF this week.

Report in the Melbourne Age: Deja vu A TO-DO between feisty Labor MP Kirstie Marshall and a cabbie outside Crown money bin last Friday has not passed unnoticed among Melbourne Demons fans, who recall the parliamentary breastfeeder's cracks at their gallant, albeit temporarily errant, captain David Neitz after he wrangled with a cabbie at the same venue in 2003. Back then Marshall barked: "To me it means you need serious help . . . get a therapist." Yesterday her office told The Age that "an incident" occurred on Friday and that Marshall had filed a complaint. However, a radio report hinted that the blame was not entirely one-sided. Quipped one prominent Dee-boy: "If a therapist can help sort this out I'd be happy to recommend one."

Anyone care to give their assessment about Bohdan Babiczjuk our fitness coach?

How very unfortunate for the young fellow who is the hard man of the side and the heart and soul of that team.
