What's with all this good community stuff? Isn't everyone else just a neighbour isolationist like myself?

Me too, he's probably a good bloke but he grinds my gears. Not even having a soft spot for the Trojans can make me like him.

Yeah it's crazy isn't it! By the way I always liked Albert Park SC better, Middle Park seemed a bit up themselves.

Definitely an easy assumption to make and I would have thought the same before I moved to the area. Having seen it though it's chaotic from as early as Jan where the grandstands and other marquee structures are almost fully up, the bump out period takes ages and feels like half the year. Would be an amazing spot but seems beyond the realms of possibility. I do like the hospitality idea though!

Before the practice games I was thinking that we wouldn't be near finals this year if Billings played more than 10 games. I am willing to revise that slightly and not grade him on his goalkicking if he can give us some decent delivery into 50 on a regular basis.
  6. I don't see the justification for it either. I think people are picking them purely on gamestyle as it stood in the latter part of last year. There's nothing stopping them from doing a Collingwood in 2023 and going strength to strength but I can just as easily see them being worked out and lacking when the pressure is on.

I would say so, Pete loved him.
  8. Nice cup run you had this year. After you knocked out my guys I was hoping you'd pull it off against City 🙂

Yeah good day for tying D-lineman down. Almost the same as Deebo wanting to salary dump but also taking on some dead money. Wonder if the Raiders go for him?

Zack Baun re-signs with the Eagles for 3 years. If other D-liners Sweat and Williams get tied up then the Eagles should be thereabouts for the foreseeable future.

I do like your thinking Roost it but I feel we've rolled that dice a few too many times in the last few years. Our culture is still on the mend and we've gotta look after that first.

Cheers for the heads up Dub. Will definitely catch that when up on Youtube.

In line with Dee Spencer's original idea, could we give lucky ones a chance to get on the microphone to pump up there crowd? They could let their 'inner demon out' and yell "rahhhhhhhh" and the crowd joins in.

I'm up for it, slick distributor.
  15. Honestly who cares, you'll live longer.

Then we could have Melbourne, Geelong and Collingwood in a triple threat match for the WWF championship!
  17. Exactly, if nothing else it's just free entertainment.

People make out like our forward line has so many problems, it really only has one: It doesn't kick enough goals. Fix that and watch the wins roll in.
  19. Your 'shopping is improving fast Andy.
  20. Hey, all I have to type is Y!!
  21. Probably that too yeah.
  22. When I think of that time and that game style, the first thing I think of is 'turnovers in good areas'. Our line was set high but our pressure up the ground was so immense that we would have Lever, May and Petty intercepting sometimes in the middle of the ground enabling plenty of repeat lock in jobs. The work of our wingmen that season does get overlooked as they would cover for those guys all the time. Not just in a contest way but as a backstop if needed, the mental side of being the opposition looking up and seeing our guys back their already and being forced to kick sideways or just hoof it. I nicknamed our back 6 the 'No Fly Zone' that season and it worked an absolute treat and I also thoroughly enjoyed watching how we played that season. Elements of this approach in our back 6 will remain, it's in our DNA. However our thought process around scoring does need to evolve. Who knows, it still might come from repeat entries and chaos but we really do need to keep fine tuning the way we rebound and transition from the backline. I am confident that with enough good users of the football back there we can develop this into something that will bear fruit.

Really looking forward to seeing what Woey can offer this year. He's got the tank and ticker, just needs to find a role that suits.
  24. It is kind of funny that he would say it even as a joke. Seems like a never say never person even if happy in that moment.
