The Overlap
I have never wanted to watch all 9 games in a weekend nor have I ever met anyone else that did. This argument about having all games standing on their own is ridiculous to me and addresses a problem that no-one ever had. I reckon at most I'd watch 4 games in a weekend and that hasn't happened once this year. The only people it benefits are the journos who study every game, most people involved with these things have no idea how fans actually think. Nearly 10 games in and I've been to two games at the MCG on an actual Fri, Sat, Sun timeslot. Feels weird.

I think when they took their interests to the US and met with Amazon but nothing came of it, that shut the door on anything like this.- NON-MFC: Round 10

Going pretty fast- PODCAST: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Great show. Don't know if I'm fully on board the proud of performance train but fantastic insights as always. I didn't think Carlton were horrible for the entire second half either, thought they were pretty much in control with the game on their terms right up until the last 8 mins of the game where maybe the 3 games in 13 days kicked in. Quite often they replied with goals quickly to ours after a lot of hard work and from memory they started at least 2 quarters with goals in the first 30 seconds. Proud of the fightback but no doubt in my mind the better team won on the night.- PREGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast

I was going to ask this a few weeks ago but could never get around to it, even had visuals that I prepared earlier. I definitely agree on the ‘box to box’ wingman concept with Langdon but I’d love to get unnecessarily complex for a moment Binman and ask you how you think they would be instructing him to perform this defensive role in relation to the all-team zone. Could it be like option A where Langdon has a specific section of grass that he covers but it also extends into the back 50 (Either all game or only in specific situations) or more likely option B where he isn’t designated a zone but he tracks back often to help his teammates out with the spoils, tackles and just being a back stop to avoid the opposition kicking to open space etc? OPTION A OPTION B With such an intricate defensive zonal system I’m really intrigued as to how these roles are drilled into the players.- NON-MFC: Round 09
Essendon's next 3 games are winnable though against North, Richmond and GC so they could be top 2 after that! They could very well do a Bomber nose-dive after that but it's still a site I'd prefer not to see at the midway point.- The No T$ No B$ Thread
