  1. Alright got the email!
  2. I watch 75 mins of Newcastle v Liverpool this morning, trailing 1-0 down to 10 men for most of the game. I decide to cut it there because I've got a heap to do, we were battling hard but it wasn't going our way. I then catch the other Reds fan in our office who yells out to me "Good result this morning". I ask what happened and he tells me to my absolute shock. It's a funny old game..
  3. Remember the bees to the honey pot argument? How does this help?
  4. Already taking the Friday off, ideally don't want to take tomorrow off as well just to concentrate 100% on getting tickets!
  5. I'd have to watch again because I'm taking the commentators word for it there. Thought we had one extra back but those comments did surprise me a little. The good thing was it allowed us to be compact in defence but widen the field when we were exiting. I'm confident we'll have something different again for the Pies to keep them guessing.
  6. The two behind the ball was an interesting one as well. Seemed to open up the wider space to kick into.
  7. It's the way we are finishing games that is the gamechanger for me this year. Finals are about who is toughest for the longest and as opposed to last year when we were hobbling off the field our guys look like they could play another game then and there. In regards to the defensive indicators, there have been times and yesterday in particular where we've conceded a few marks inside 50 and there is a threat that things could go to bits but more often that not that defensive unit has managed to sort themselves out and get back to killing the danger and relieving the pressure by hitting a target. If they give up a goal, no problem, ithey put it behind them and it's about the next contest. It would be almost perfect if we had Petty out there and losing Melksham is a bummer but nothing goes perfect for anyone in a premiership campaign. We will back our selection and whoever comes in to do the job. Perfection is not required, doing your role is. Like Big Kev, I'm excited!
  8. We looked awfully fumbly at times in that first half. Some players looked like they were struggling below the knees. This did clean up a lot in the 2nd half but I'm keen to hear what the thoughts are around this. We've likely tapered the loads so fatigue would be unlikely, could it simply be that we (seemingly) had nothing to play for while the Swans had that little bit of an extra carrot? Come finals I really don't want to be losing too many centre clearances as a result of overfumbling on a dry track. As David King says, it's a 'No Fumble League'
  9. It's a good place to be. And when all is said and done no-one cares who was 1st in the finals experience ladder.
  10. He says what we're all thinking!
  11. One of the good people in footy, the AFL can only benefit from his input.
  12. So true and for some reason I've never thought of this.
  13. Please me right DD. If you are then I'll send a crate of beer to your house.
  14. I just want to say thank you DLers for all your votes. Without you this award doesn't happen. There's always different perceptions of what a good game is and I really enjoy reading the number of different slants on performances. Give yourselves a pat on the back!
  15. Knew I could count on you 😀
  16. You know how there is dark tourism and people visiting places where negative events have occured? This interview is like 'dark podcasting' where an interview occured moments before tragedy..
  17. Daicos's injury is not the type you rush back for. I've got no factual knowledge to back that up but hopefully someone will jump in just so I can look good.
  18. It's done now. Guess it beats an interstate game.
  19. Need someone with speed and skill. Don't poo poo it yet
  20. I'll be deathriding Everton till the next deathride here.
  21. What a weird day of footy watching. Went out for coffee this morning and didn't watch a second of the Port v Richmond game. As soon as the result came through and we knew it was a dead rubber, I knew I was just going to sit back with the game on in the background and not have a stressful Sunday for a change. And for the first half although we didn't look fantastic, it looked that way. We come out in the 3rd quarter looking as limp as a charity wristband as the Swans bang on 3 straight goals and are slicing us with clearances out of the centre. Coinciding with this is vision of Fritsch hobbling off and that familiar sick feeling we've been getting a lot as of late. Fritsch begins to jog up and down the boundary line but just to make sure the air continued to be suffocated out of us as fans, in form man Melksham has that ligament twinge looking injury. I said a few weeks ago that Petty felt like the most heartbreaking injury of the season but this could be right up there as well. I'm absolutely shattered for Jake who missed out in 21 and was in good form. I love what he can offer when the ball is in his hands and I felt like this could have been his finals series. It will take an absolute miracle for this is be anything other than a serious knee injury. Somehow Fritta comes back and the man who so many here hate for his kicking at goal ability comes out and snares one to get us going again. Laurie came on and had instant impact, that kick to Pickett absolutely sublime. We come out in the last quarter and bury those cockroaches. Fritta excellent, just hope the foot is OK. We could have wilted, we did not. We dug in and showed that winning is important. If we had a tanking culture once that taught us how to lose then let's give credit to a team that now wants to win at all costs. And make no mistake this was a great win with our backs to the wall. Winning for is good form and we will be there with good form. Thought Trac worked his way in to just about BOG, Viney relentless in the last, Brayshaw has been amazing lately, Mcvee, May all outstanding. But Alex Neal-Bullen take a bow. I used to think of Simon Godfrey as 'Mr Endeavour' I think ANB is the modern version of this. He just works so damn hard and I think his worth has shone through this last couple of weeks (obviously a better kick than Simon too haha). Bring on Collingwood, much prefer to play them in this final than later on. Make it a blessing to finish 4th? It's just a number. This one is for all the marbles, go out there and win. Another home and away season done, top 4 is no mean feat. It's been great being on here with all of you. There's people you get along with great, there's people who disagree with you but the one thing I love about DL is that if you're here it's because of one thing. You bloody love this footy club and regardless of anything else, that's good enough for me. Going to bed now, take it easy all GO DEES!
  22. To have him by the short and curlies is an understatement but hey who wouldn't want more Prime time BT wisdom after all? Oh taking the day off the next day is a must now. No chance at all rocking in on Friday after all that emotion. Still a pain in the butt and will have to try to nick off early as well. Finals timeslots need adequate breathing space, they let us down.
  23. I don't see any other matchup shaping the finals series more than this one. Maybe if Port get over Bris that is bigger but still not sold. I think all eyes will be on the G.
  24. It'd absolutely stupid and making things unnecessarily difficult. How did we end up with this garbage day and timeslot?
  25. Quite liked Laurie's game
