  1. Not going to sound popular right now, but I think we need to stick with it. The previous method got us places yes, but to an extent has been worked out. We don't get anywhere close to the manic pressure of 2021 for it to work consistently. I don't believe you can put the toothpaste back in the tube here, we can retain elements but there is the FD clearly saw a need to bring a new look and this is how it is. Sustained games with Bowey and Salem in the will see some improvement. There's this case floating around that we don't have the personnel for this method, we'll the same argument can be made for the previous one in that we didn't have a key forward or two to mark and goal or at very least bring the ball down and help us lock it in regularly. We also lacked the opportunistic small forward who could craft out of no-where. These deficiencies are not equal but it is a decent counter argument. Stick with it for a bit longer.
  2. Hate it but it just might work.
  3. Petty to continue in the forward line. Expecting more of the same, will help to have JVR in though.
  4. I dunno, we've been bereft of options up forward numerous times and he doesn't come close to a look in. There has to be a reason.
  5. Give it a week or two. June is when we may as well not turn up because every loss has a perfectly valid explanation that everyone should understand. Leads to the ball, that's something. Needs a few games.
  6. 6 weeks to Smith. Parker could have busted his elbow on his face.
  7. He does it all. Inside and outside, physical, can kick a goal, 190cm +. I like the way he goes about it, ever since he came in really. I remember a game against us about 5 years ago where he had about 40 touches, racked up around 15 tackles and kicked a couple. I think the Dogs are still reeling from losing him in all honesty and have been band aiding the loss ever since. With the Dogs fresh off a grand final and the Lions trying to get there it did seem like the balance of power shifted when he was traded to the Lions. Big part of their GF run.

  9. Yes the more physical the better. We want more injuries
  10. Jefferson Ford maybe.
  11. What do you put this down to Binman? Not enough skill when we turn it over? Not generating enough turnovers in the first place or in areas where we want them? One thing I'm noticing at the moment is that that 'tackle breaking' midfielder is very much in vogue right now and if you've got a Harley Reid who is able to break away from the contest and retain the ball without turning it over you limit those turnover opportunities.
  12. Bang Bang Bang that's bang on.
  13. If he was a Demon from day one with the way his career has gone he'd probably be in the Watts/Johnstone/Sylvia conversations! I just want to see that little bit more from Jack. A few more targets hit, a goal here and there etc.

Looks slightly built. What's his contest work like?
  15. Tommo simply isn't a third tall I'm afraid, as much as I'd love to say that he could be that floating interceptor he just isn't. While there is a chance for him to come in, his best role would probably be the one that Tom McDonald is currently playing. Turner going down when he did really hurt, this would have been perfect as we could have either swung him or Petty back.
  16. Thanks Lexinator, we need to try some new looks in there to keep opposition guessing. I look at what the Dogs have done with Ed Richards and it has given their midfield a new lease of life, even after Liberatore went down he seems to have grown more into the role. I too would like to see ANB at more centre bounces. I know it robs us of the high HFF role that he plays so well but now is the time to pull a few levers and see what we can run through there.
  17. Jack Billings or Issac Weetra? Choose

  19. Looking ominous. If this injury dates back to the tweak against Hawthorn I'll be quite peeved.
  20. NFL

Oh god do I really want to know!
  21. Personally I'd love Rivers to get more time in the middle, I know he can turn it over but he may just give us that bit of extra bounce energy wise. Have to take risks sometimes and the depth pool is shallow as it is. We've gotta do something different in there, anything.
  22. 111 marks to 60, made them look like the West Coast of old. We find ourselves in a position of coming up against teams who seem to want it more, especially where the midfield battle is concerned. I don't know how you fix that but if they don't have the desire to put in the work then the door is over there. These ones certainly sting the next day in the office. Not wanting to show your face, wish I could work from home!
