  1. I agree that North's form hasn't been all that flash. Definitely, a chance to beat them.
  2. According to a source, there was a huge betting plunge on the Eagles before their game against the Bombers. Could it be due to some inside knowledge?
  3. On the issue of injuries coming from the game, didn't Stef Martin get injured during the game?
  4. Trust those two teams to be playing for stolen silverware. I'd like to see the Blues drop out of the 8 if they lose a couple.
  5. No way. Swans made the granny that year. They would slaughter us today.
  6. There were three umpires out there! Surely one of them could have come to their senses?
  7. A lovely report. Well done to all at Melbourne for this terrific response to Jim's illness. We all hope that he's back to full health as soon as possible and we're all behind you Jim!!!!
  8. One would assume that he'll play this week if he's not mentioned on the official injury list but experience says not to make any assumptions. He could be in but then again ...
  9. Just a reminder that we've only just passed the halfway mark of the season and the team is concentrating on winning every game. We haven't finished last yet so don't take it for granted Scully wil play in our colours next year.
  10. Their rucks will be somewhat weakened compared to last year.
  11. It's been all over the net in the past 24 hours so I think it's a badly kept secret at best. Robbo indicated that LJ was a bit of freakish and that he was looking forward to see what he could do. I suspect that he'll "outRobbo" Robbo! He also said that the team had a short break and appreciated it. They also got involved in some bonding type activities. They had a bit of fun with hypnotherapy. Aussie went under and thought he was a soldier. Robbo said the club was disappointed with the QB game which put the club into a spotlight because "we were so insipid" but it was unfair how some people said it should be taken away. It was one really poor performance after several improved efforts and people give us a break. He admitted that only 1 win was not what the team had hoped for and it was necessary for the whole group to start believing in itself. Dean Bailey is still very upbeat. He understands he has a young team but also that we need to win games. We have standards but we let things slip and we'll be out to make amends. On Friday need to set the standards at the start. We need to be switched on right from the beginning and we have a chance to win. At this point he let out the news about Liam Jurrah.
  12. Good interview. Just confirmed that LJ will play on Friday night!!!
  13. As with most news media, the focus at the start was Collingwood and MM. Mentioned our QB disaster was 5th highest rating on TV and we should keep this fixture.
  14. Anyone know whether there are any restrictions on team selection for Casey this week?
  15. Well, PG's report is up on melbournefc.com.au so you can judge for yourselves what the coach thought of the performances of the various players.'
  16. We have to take the fight up to them from the very start. No goals given away in the first 10 - 15 seconds and no short miskicks to the opposition from point kick ins. It will be closer than many think.
  17. We have in excess of 30,000 members. How hard would it be to get a decent crowd to this gig? The game's on a Saturday, they should be out in their droves.
  18. My guess is that he'll be second ruck for the Casey twos for a couple of weeks and then be eased into the ones. Ready for AFL by round 12 or 13 bsed on our current conservative system of rehab for players. I don't believe that it costs the club any extra to go through the process. Just paperwork.
  19. Based on the way the Pois played last night we won't need them anyway.
  20. On the other hand, Spencer has yet to be named on Melbourne's official injury list so he must have been fit for the past month. Does he still atttend school?
  21. I think he means that there's no less clash between this and the original jumper. I can't see any reason for clubs to wear clash jumpers when there's hardly any clash to start with. For instance, we could have easily worn our own traditional jumper against the Eagles on Sunday. The AFL is taking the whole issue to ridiculous extremes and St. Kilda's jumper last night was stupide. The worst of it all was Norf's against Collingwood the week before.
  22. Agreed. Richmond are too old and lack motivation while Terry Wallet's in the coaches seat.
  23. I'd like to see a big game from Grimes who was unlucky to get injured after such a great pre-season.
