  1. Always loved the Black Knight scene. It comes from one of my favourite movies. Don't mind the 96 point win either if we have to win!
  2. More evidence of tanking but this time from an unlikely place - Fremantle. DOCKERS DUMPED AND DISCIPLINED Reckon they're interested in winning?
  3. If the club was holding back it's coaching announcement until every candidate was no longer involved in the finals race then Essendon's defeat yesterday might have solved that problem. As the rest of the candidates are doing their simulated tests or whatever early in the week the announcement will probably now be made sooner rather than later.
  4. Can't imagine a much sadder end to a season than this. Hopefully, a new broom will be announced soon and we can sweep away the memories of 2007 altogether. We can't control what the clubs, the coaches and the players are going to do on Sunday. I will go to the game and if we win, I won't be upset. I'll be overjoyed even though I know we will be handing Carlton a generous gift. If they think it's so great to get an extra draft choice by tamking games or manipulating their line ups then it might turn out a poisoned chalice at the end of the day.
  5. It's not so much that we're dumber Redleg. It's that we are so less competent in what we do. Look how effortlesslesly they had Houlihan and Lappin replaced before the game. It's joke! Having said tht it wuld be great if we could follow their lead.
  6. Confirmed in today's Sunday Age - http://realfooty.com.au/news/news/season-o...7462590271.html. As Redleg pointed out in the Duty of Care thread this could have been avoidable. Neither he nor Robbo should be going around at this stage of the season.
  7. She's apples for Newton "It is good occasionally to get up the ground on the wing or that sort of thing, but I've still got a lot of learning to do."
  8. Ready to carry on where he left off and resume his place in the team at Subiaco I presume.
  9. Speculation aside, is the club going to do anything about the allegations or is it preoccupied with the process of selecting a new coach? At least the members should be advised that the matter is in hand, otherwise we might find that we lose our highest draft selection of the past seven or eight years because of neglect. If he has breached club rules he should be suitably disciplined. If he hasn't, then tell us.
  10. You know, I was thinking exactly the same thing myself a little earlier in the evening. David Neitz and Russell Robertson are valuable to our cause. Both of them went down with knee injuries in Round 2 v Hawthorn and then each missed a number of games. When we lost them, our season was derailed. Neither of them has produced anything near what they are capable of (except for Robbo's QB game vs. Collingwood). On Friday night Neita's kicking was symptomatic of someone who didn't have full power in the legs. Robbo's knee appeared unstable and I noticed the odd wince at times. These guys are major assets of the club and they should be able to start recuperating and resting those valuable knees. What exactly are they playing on for anyway? Sheep stations? Club records?
  11. Correct about Yze - http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/com...5E19769,00.html
  12. An excellent summation of the game Scoop Junior. Considering the Demon stuff ups in the seond quarter and the misses at the end, I'd say Collingwood have very little to feel satisfied about on this performance. In the past three weeks they've scraped in against 2 of the bottom 3 teams and lost to the other. As for Melbourne I'd like to see them under a new coach and with a full side, fit and healthy next year.

  14. Well, it just proves that not every milestone game necessarily turns out to be as blissful as Neita's 250th and nor should one get ahead of oneself either!
  15. I suggest you consult the Bureau of Meteorology if you want a weather report. As for the game, Melbourne by 38 points.
  16. Believe it or not he tries to be very serious (most of the time). The Port Adelaide hoodoo could be what does it this week, otherwise he'll end up having egg on his face like WJ last week!
  17. There should be no confusion Dappa. The execution of the game plan needs to be fixed but if they couldn't do that in the space of over a month and four practice matches plus the game v St. Kilda, how the hell do you fix it in just over a week? Our list is good enough and that Hawks are beatable but the Demons were so unimpressive last week. There was no run, no confidence and nothing there to inspire. The attitude of the players and their body language seemed all wrong. The Oracle recons we're just not cherry ripe or ready to play ATM and I think that's a fair enough call ATM. What's the Strawberry Fields stuff all about?
