You could have Wayne Carey as your CHF and it wouldn't of made a difference, if you can't supply your forward line no point having a gun KPF. We couldn't get the ball past half way last night.

1. Rivers, Macdonald, Warnock and Bartram should never be in the same backline together 2. We need Scully, Gysberts, McKenzie fit and playing 3. Maric is currently our first choice small forward And one more when need to find a way to get inside our attacking 50m arc over 55 times per match
-
The big bonus is we got smashed in all facets of the game but we had our chance to win until the Ryder Goal midway through the last quarter, we went inside the 50m arc 35 times to 60 yet they only had 8 more scoring shots. I think the players thought like most fans when we got to 10 points down that we would just run over the top of Essendon but we self destructed.
-
Good Call, what Mckenzie brings is a good defensive side at contest, these two don't have a defensive side around stoppages, you can't miss tackles at stoppages, last night we missed a heap and Essendon hit most tackles. It will be hard to have Jones, Mckenzie and Moloney in the same midfield and I have Moloney and McKenzie ahead of Jones.

Went a long last night, left concerned that we continue to have the same issues and the big one is we just cant get the football inside the 50m arc enough. Ever since Bailey took over this is the key stat that we have been smashed. Our scoring percentage once inside 50m will be very good but we need to get in there around 55 times per game not 35-45 times. We also have issues with playing teams we should beat, we have been the underdog for so long we need to learn to dominate teams that we should beat. Last night it we allowed Essendon to dominate us. It is the NAB cup and it was good to get a big kick up the backside. One thing that can never happen in the AFL season is Bartram, MacDonald, Rivers, Warnock, all four should never be in our back six together. We need Strauss or Blease to step up this year to claim that second mid/small defender spot, clubs know we want to get the footy to Grimes we need another highly skilled player to be a good option. Midfield Jamar's tapwork is being hunted now, last year no one expected him to improve the way he did, once you start to win a tap out consistantly the opposition midfield will start to rove of you, this happened last night, especially the backward tap to Moloney, it got picked off last night. Not concerned about forward line if we can get the footy in there we can kick enough goals. We need to find the right mix, Dunn Bate and Watts isn't the right mix Bate needs to be replaced but a smaller quicker player that will apply more defensive pressure Aussie, Bennell, Davey, Tapscott, Maric, Jetta I would like to see two of either these players up forward to complement Watts, Green, Dunn and Jurrah, would like to see Davey pushed deep forward when tagged go back to his dangerous goal kicking best I noticed we changed one main thing that I thought was good in Adelaide, when we had no option we kicked long down the line and got numbers to the contest. Last night we tryed to hit the hard target and when we went long down the line no one worked hard to get to the contest. The upside off losing is we will rest Jamar, Sylvia, Green, Jurrah, Garland, Davey and more than likely Trengove next week so we will see more of Blease, Strauss, Maric, Gysberts, Tapscott, Cook, Gawn.

If a player doesn't train the day before in a very light session you won't play him in a NAB cup match. Petterd may be able to play but another week rest will enable him to get over it. The last thing Ricky needs is to do it again because he comes back to early. 4 weeks till the real stuff starts enough time to get match fit, he pings it again he misses the start of the season and will need to come back through Casey. I would expect Evans and Cook to miss tonight, more hoping would love to see Blease and Howe play but I wouldn't be upset to see Blease and Cook play.
-
You don't wnat to rush young players that have had limited pre-season, depending on how we go tonight you would expect if we win both will more then lkely line up at Casey next week, if we lose they might get a run with a few players getting a rest.
-
I agree he is a very good set shot, it will be more a technique thing that can be fixed. Just watch any set shot over 40m it just doesn't come off right on the run and in general play it is OK.
-
I wonder if Dust Bin Fletcher will play on Jurrah
-
Just on Watt's set shots inside 40m I think he is very good but over 40m the ball comes of his boot like he slices at it. May be he is kicking accross the footy instead of through it.
-
To me it looked like only the 29 players for tomorrow night trained. What I did notice is Jack Watts, he looks like a footballer and not a kid, his foot skills on both side of his body are great. The only small concern is his set shots, he seems to what can be best explained as a back hand slice the ball which effects his distance, the ball connection looks good and is straight but it doesn't seem to jump of his boot. His range seems to be 30-40m anything over that he struggles for the distance. Bit of a fluff session to get the body moving.
-
For all those hoping to see Gysberts or Tapscott both didn't train today and it looked to me like the 28 players for tomorrow trained as that is all I counted. Good news is Cook, Evans, Howe and Blease will be in the squad, Scully wont still in Rehab.

Nope but you can get all the free air you want watching it live

Everyone is quick to judge. If he has been suffering from depression it does make you turn to things that make you happy to get this monkey off your back even if it is for a short fix. Drinking and punting may of given him an outlet from what was going on in his head. Once you accept that you can't keep hiding your illness and it is causing you to make very poor judgement calls and seek help you can get depression under control. There are Drugs to assist and constant councelling but if you admit you need help you can control the beast. I agree he needs to get over a lot of issues, but if he can I wouldn't write off him playing AFL again.
-
Why not, it is what he is good at. This guy has issues that he is addressing, he will have a number of steps he needs to take before even considering playing AFL, but if he can get through it he is a fantastic AFL footballer.
-
Fremantle have changed their jumper, the Green is gone, from memory all Purple with a white anchor home and all white with Purple anchor away.
-
But he hasn't seeked help before, learning how to deal with something like depression you need professional help and you need rehab to really learn how to deal with it. If he can learn to deal with it get on his medication stay of the grog he is worth another chance.
-
Why wouldn't they, Carlton are a key forward away from being a top 4 side and Sheedy will back himself to keep him on the straight and narrow. Plus you would get him for nothing. Carlton will put a huge positive spin membership will go through the roof. Give him 12 mths to get his life together, give him a training program to keep him fit and also exercise is great to help battle depression, it gives him something to do. He has still got 2-3 years in him as long as his head is right.
-
The umpires should wear the green every game, no club wears green.
-
I wonder what odds I can get for him to be in a Carlton or GWS Jumper next year.
-
I think the 6 interchange plus 2 subs still apply. The AFL will be loviing the draw fro the second round. They have 2 games that were teams that finished in the top 6, a game with two teams on the way back and a game no one cares about in WA. They will get over 25,000 to each game.
-
Would you rather have a mid size forward line that all can kick goals or play an undersize tall forward who has the turning circle of the queen mary
-
I think Petterd has more to offer up forward than Bate. If Davey plays more up forward eans our midfield is flying with out him and e is back to being a very dangerous small forward.
-
No rush on Tapscott or Gysberts ease them back into it I thinks Casey start their practise matches on the 6/3. If we win through the NAB next week you keep playing best available, if we lose then we rest a number of senior players the following week.
