  1. I agree far to many ODI's that are forgotten the day after. But the indians love them so they are played at every chance. I actually really like ODI's with 2 top sides, so i hope they do not phase them out. T20's are ok but to me its like cricket on speed-but its great to see young kids at the ground Pumped up. and if it gets them interested in test cricket-awesome. Next summer will tell a lot...India & England out here. 7 ODI's against each country (i think) personally i would prefer the triangular format with those sides. I heard stephen Gough on SEN this arvo talking about it from the MCC point of view..worth a listen if the podcast is there.
  2. Absolutely, if The Flash had walked our club would be about 5 years behind the eight ball (again) He is the leader of all our indigenous boys and some of the white fellas for that matter.
  3. Thanks for the Reports guys, skills can still be tightened. At least there were no injuries. Just watch those speeches from the AGM again. We are in good Hands, But i am actually Glad Shane Crawford gave us a bake. Maybe our skills are not too bad, it's just that everybody elses are better. So we must improve..Good.
  4. which is light Tower 2?? i always head for Members gate 2 so i am a bit hazy on light tower numbers i would be in that for sure. Call to arms after 3 years of hell-That would pump the players & club right up. Good idea.
  5. This summers Cricket Schedule has been the worst i can remember, Australia have done well to keep winning, i will give them that. But imagine if Melbourne played Richmond & the Kangaroos for an entire season. That too would get dull & extremely repetitive. So i don't think crowd numbers are so much a reflection of the game formats as to more who is playing. Pakistan are a Rabble with some talent, & the Windies were on strike weeks before they arrived here, so we should beat them. I don't think the Triangle series should have been stopped either, it wasn't perfect but at least it had a Prize at the end. The current ODI format means nothing at all sadly.
  6. yes i agree, but it is all opinion & the odds are in our favor talk AT THIS STAGE. This club has not proved anything yet. I may be older than you & therefore been trodden on by Demon expectations before. I remember being told "Diamond" Jim Tilbrook was the greatest footballer to walk the Earth.....He wasn't. Crawf's article from an outsiders POV was reasnoable is all i am saying. If you wrote the same article on Richmond 2010 what would you write??
  7. I agree, Losing Fevola was not part of their premiership plan, and i still do not rate the back line. They will be mid table-We will not be that far behind them either. I do hope we beat those bastards twice this year, maybe even 3 times.
  8. Firstly thanks for the links, after sorting out how to recieve them , i watched all 3 speeches Twice each. All 3 speeches were inspired. Anyone who does not fully believe in DB's ability should watch his speech VERY CAREFULLY. He is a fine operator, i have no doubt. 2010 is going to be great, i just hope we can score a couple of early wins. And supporters roll up to those early games. Show the club and players we have faith in the plan that is being executed.
  9. I bet you that you are right. I couldn't name 18 players out of any other side either, not interested. Prefer to point my energy at the MFC. From the outside this club is a basket case, but we the real supporters no better. But until the results start to become public, we shall be kicked by all and or ridiculed. But after watching the speeches from last weeks AGM we know that the MFC is going to be ok but the job is far from done & at the same time is never finished.
  10. Download the silverlight applications into your applications folder, as i have just done. And hey presto i can hear Schwabby's great speech.!!
  11. Lets just remember that we demonlanders and ology people plus a few thousand Demon supporters are the only people really watching the Club over the last 3 years. To everyone else in the Footy world we are a joke and a waste of space. I have heard it repeatedly. Opposition supporters are waiting for us to go Belly Up. We are not rated at all. And why should we be. Do any of us Rate the Tigers? i would suggest not. He may be an idiot on TV but Crawf did win a charlie and got to play in a premiership team. This Club is heading in the right direction but still has not put the scores on the board. It all starts this year...show the article to the players..let them prove crawf wrong, not just in round 1 either.
  12. What are you talking about, Stokes was a scape goat to his mates up North if anything. He was arrested as part of a police operation that had been following proceedings for about 4 weeks. Hardly an AFL scape goat....
  13. yes i cannot access big pond-Thanlks Telsta, you have become one of the worst communication organizations on the planet, & you were once the Best. Shame on you.
  14. Sorry i just got home i didnt realize hussey had been picked. Game on.
  15. Of Course David Hussey has played the MCG all summer but it seems to make little difference to the selectors.
  16. Well Said...This AFL system set up the way it is, almost tells players its ok to use drugs..almost. The Law does not & i know which one has more clout. Whoever set up the 3 strike system should be ashamed...it sends the wrong message, while the AFL looks squeaky clean.
  17. Pathetic isn't it. Plus he has a chronic Back injury. Young Pup can do no wrong- he is a chosen one obviously Still have my doubts on his captaincy potential full stop. He is a pretty boy who can play, but captain hmmmmmm...
  18. Correct, if he had said it was for his own use he would be in trouble. but nowhere near what he is in now. Trafficking is in another category completely as it involves many. I can't see him getting less than the 4 year ban from WADA and whatever the judge brings down. The Text Messages tell it all.Stokes new the Guy & new what he was getting into, even if it was for mates. Its sad really, i do feel sorry for him. he would have been doing it as a favour-but it's illegal & he got done.
  19. Hmmm Hard one, Which is worse Being Belted up or a drug dealer??? I suppose a drug dealer effects more people but i still say its a line ball. an unprovoked assault is a cowards act and i believe a jail term is in order, but of course our legal system is way too soft these days. Its all weighted towards the perpetrator rather than the victim.
  20. Simply Drugs is a dirty word in sport, Perception within society is a far worse crime I agree Hurley has got away with scott free, but what can you do when "Ned Flanders" PC standards are all around us.
  21. The AFL will not act before the court case, unless absolute proof emerges. The WADA situation if found guilty is 4 year to life ban regardless of any AFL or club systems There is no need for the league to do anything until a verdict is handed down.
  22. Interesting that the Ox yesterday said on Radio that he expected the Demons to win a minimum of 8 games next year. Anything less was not acceptable. This has to be a Hard Tough year for the MFC Young players are going to be pushed hard. I am just concerned about the Rucks (lack of them) & our lack of experience throughout the side But i am going to watch and Trust the FD closely this year. We are almost a new club in all areas.
  23. After Hearing CC's interview a couple of times yesterday i reckon we shall win 25 Games 0 Losses and the 13th Elusive Flag is ours!!! B) B) .....NEXT.
  24. You are absolutely right, i have done amazingly crazy stuff over the years. so i am not standing on the moral high ground But i was never a fully professional AFL premiership player either, when you sign on that line you gotta play the game.
