  2. I still believe the club will not let Todd have the only and final word on the drafting of his son. I also stand by the fact that just because his son is in this draft we should not move him from the position he currently holds.
  3. lol you maybe waiting a while. The 2 jacks should and will be co captains again in 2013, jones will continue to improve and be in the leadership group. Leadership is both on and off field and jones may not want even want the captaincy and just be happy to focus on improving his game even more
  4. Anyone confirm the truth of this or is this just another one for the rumor mill?
  5. i would hate foy gysberts to leave unless of course he has asked to be traded and or he is happy to leave as a deal to get someone better to the club. also is it even true? link anyone?
  6. Excerpt From Website "Todd Viney - General Manager - Player Development & Strategy" "Viney will oversee the operations of the Club’s overall player development programs, including the academy with Kelly O’Donnell, and personal development with Ian Flack. He will also work closely with conditioning coaches to ensure the development of the players’ physical skills are consistent with longer term objectives in the context of the Premiership Model." How does Todd Viney's role effect his sons recruitment? Todd will probably have little input into any decision being made due to the conflict of interest. The decision to draft his son will not be made by Todd but by others in the football department. The fact that his son is in the draft this year does not mean you should sack Todd. Because his insight and experience can still be used. Why lose that experience? Conflict of Interest can be avoided when every one is aware it exist and puts strategies in place do deal with it. These processes within the club should be transparent to everyone involved. Yes externally the perception that it is wrong will exist but that would not change even if Todd was a runner. I think that Neeld also will have the most say in who gets drafted as I think he and his coaching team have a very clear plan on who they will target as can be seen from the choices made at last years draft.
  7. This pick 3 does not include any of the drafts, that should be a seperate challenge. In fact I just realised my closing date should have been the 21 Novemeber 2012
  8. Damn... but hey maybe they can do a Mitch Clark deal and snag him last minute. lol Will have to rethink my three...damn Thanks Fuschia 1 Josh Drummond 2 Jordan Russell 3 Brendan Goddard
  9. I was wondering who on D'land believes they can see into the mind of MFC's Coaching and List Management Staff and are able to successfully pick 3 players not currently on our list, who will be at the Demons after all the different the trade period ends. (29 November 2012) You can say why you think the Club would have them if you like but it not essential. Get your picks in Before Oct 1 2012. Then when November 29 2012 rolls up we will go back over and see who the was the closest. The winner will receive no accolades or prizes other than the knowledge that for a short time in their life they won a meaningless competition, and Something to do in the lull between Footy Seasons, and A little smugness (and only a little please), and A little strutting action, and finally, A head held high. My Picks 1. Josh Drummond 2. Chris Knights 3. Jordan Russell
  10. I reckon good get for the club if able as is right age and player type, only concern is he is a restricted free aged and may cost us although as a swap for Moloney might be possible. If not Troy Chaplin also could be worth a look although he plays as CHB and our back 6 stocks are overflowing
  11. Just Like Rumour Mill it keeps going round and round...wwwweeeeeeee!!! come along for the ride.
  12. So do you want Dunn as a utility or do you want him to be settled into one position? I personally think he is best played as a utility and not in one position because he is good at annoying the crap out of the opposition, my only gripe would be his propensity to stage for frees when his natural ability in a contest is often more then enough to win it. It sh1ts me when he stages. I can't recall any of our contracted players asking for a trade? P.s Neeldy Rocks! lol
  13. Why is this news not on the MFC website why is it being released by the HUN? You would think the club would have at least had a story about it on their website. I don't understand why they let the media disclose it first, I don't want to hear from some second rate Journo this just staggers me and also infuriates me no end.
  14. Why join MFC? I reckon as most have said the $$ but peoples motivation to change can be affected by Family, Relationships, Great Sales Pitch, Footy connections ie Coaches and hopefully a really flashy sales pitch. To me all these reason could be why someone would join MFC.
  15. So now tell me if I am wrong but are you saying there are no rookies anymore? lol just kidding My number would be 30
  16. http://www.gwsgiants.com.au/tyson-makes-eight.html Just FYI the above article from the GWS sites states "Tyson is the only one of the Giants' eight Rising Star nominees not to sign on with the club beyond 2013.
  17. Good Luck to BM in his future endeavours and wish him all the best. I wonder if he will end up at GWS or GCS.
  18. Hardnut the counts at 4 we are required to delist 3 players. This is hardly a mass exodus at this point.
  19. Good Luck to Ricky P if true, and I hope some one good gets his number coz its my Favourite number.
  20. The player has EMoney as their Platinum Player Partner which is ironic (and that's the last words I will ever type about the Mercenary)
  21. I agreeTLE he won't be back, skinfolds coupled with the fact that Magpie Geese are too delicious to give up are against us. On another note please can someone enlighten me about the "No Rookies in 2013" issue what is that about? been reading it a couple of times on D'land and wondered what it is referring to.
  22. WTF!! these discussions have all occurred before its like ground hog day in here first Beamer is leaving in a Brockesque fashion and now the old the coaching selection panel didn't do enough, next we will have people saying Mick Malthouse is available lets sack the Neeldy and steal him from Carlton.
  23. De ja vu Very much like Brock Mclean Brent has seen that maybe he is not a good fit for MFC and has chosen to look elsewhere, I say good luck to him and yeah that frees up another spot on the list if he goes. .
  24. As Diesal has said his actual comparison each week is in regards to players fielded each week and average games. Adelaide as a whole have avg age/games played similar as others have posted but Neeld comparison is regards to our opposition on the day. If we fielded the same team as Adelaide and they did the same this next round the avg games played for each of the fielded teams would be 69 Dees compared to 97 Crows. 30 games may not seem a lot but if you look at a player like Patrick Dangerfield who as of last round had played 84 Games (starting in 08) Compared with Jack Trengove 57 (starting in 2010) it makes a difference. It is equivalent to 2 pre-seasons and a season and a bit of experience. I am getting tired of the constant referencing to it also but when people ask the coach what happened out there its actually a very good point. His (former) mentor mentioned it in his commentary on the weekend also. As an aside when comparing Patrick Dangerfield and Jack Trengove interesting Patrick only played 2 games in his first year and then played majority of the next 3 before what everyone says is his break out year. Capt Jack has had 3 steady seasons of playing a majority of the season (19+ Games) So I predict he should be about right round 3 2013 lol.
  25. No nothing about Moneyball even fell asleep watching the movie. lol But The Newsroom I have been following, in fact just watched episode 9 and loving it each week.
