  1. I understand this point as stated response to earlier post. Ok cheers. If Green doesn't re-sign, and he wanted to be traded, and Hawthorn wanted him. Would you offer Green and pick 35 to Hawthorn, in exchange for Pick 16? Would that be seen as a win-win deal? Or perhaps Green & Pick 51 for pick 16? Agree. edit: I can't imagine that Port would give up Pick 4, unless it's something to do with Didak.
  2. True. Good point. Ok, so the point is that Richmond were stupid enough to let a deal like that go through. Let's remember, I did say, "these two could at least be considered a chance to command a first round pick on their own. In particular, Aaron Davey."
  3. Best Poster: Rogue Most Entertaining: Individual: Y_M Tandem: RR and mo64. Best visual displays: Clint Bizkit (ie for his nominated clash jumper) Funniest:close call. It's a Nightmare/deanox If I go any longer, it will resemble the credits of a Walt Disney Movie....
  4. Why on earth have the goal and the mark of the year not been announced yet? This is a monumental stuff up. Isn't it? Does anyone know the reasoning behind the delay? edit: (Mods can you move this to Message Board, as you can see I misplaced it...apologies) edit: Cheers.
  5. I tell you what RR. I'm not trying to be smart by saying this, because often you are spot on. But if Jordan McMahon can be traded to Richmond for pick 19, these two could at least be considered a chance to command a first round pick on their own. In particular, Aaron Davey.
  6. There you go mo64. Plenty of interst in T.Boyle of Hawks too. Dogs are circling but may not have the pick available....yet.
  7. Thanks demonland, that will prevent me from buying a new fan and getting a cold flannel. Sydney's 2nd round pick is pick 30.
  8. For those who have stated and thought that the Demons will remain relatively quiet during trade period, I suggest you read the article posted by Mousey: "We want to better our position with more picks or better position picks." - Chris Connolly. They won't be putting their feet up with some KFC watching Fox Sports or twidling their thumbs at Telstra Dome, they'll be quite active.
  9. Just relaying my thoughts after hearing the Hawks state their level of interest in O'Keefe on SEN in the last hour. That's why mo.
  10. Hawks may have room, (ie lets see what Crawford decides). Pick 16 seems fair. They may be willing to release pick 16 for a Green and one of our other later picks. They will get a replacement pick if T.Boyle goes elsewhere. Could it be the Dees?
  11. He's a defender who can have stints in the ruck. Has good speed. Has a bit of Irish mongrel in him too. Interesting rumour though, didn't see this one coming. Irish connection perhaps......we'll see. Is he obliged to run accross the mark on occassions at critical moments?
  12. Absolutely. He had the chance to sign for a number of weeks. It's a big grudge to hold to leave on account of missing out on the leadership group, had he played the way he did this year in previous seasons, he would have been included in the leadership group IMO. Understand the bonus scenario and having a chance at a flag, etc. Reasonable IMO too. Re: Hawthorn, if O'Keefe can't get to Hawthorn, Green would be the "next cab off the rank" for the Hawks.
  13. Welcome back Y_M. Much of a muchness. The only two telling stats are that Jamar averages more hitouts, and Seaby gives away less frees.
  14. Excuse the french: Bugger it!!
  15. I concur Mono. Hawthorn's interest in O'Keefe would be further evidence that they still have room to move under the cap at present. Good on them for good list management too.
  16. Quite right.
  17. Warnock has improved tremendously well this season. Our new Gorilla!
  18. 'Abundantly clear' that Davey has not met the footy departments requirements this season. Speaking from experience there BBP?
  19. I beg to differ Titan. Campbell is a very handy ruckman at present. And he still has upside to him (improvement). I rate Campbell, although I definitely have Petrie, Cox and Sandilands in the "top bracket", so me putting Campbell in their company would be being kind to him. Simmonds...not so sure he is that much better than Campbell, was fortunate to get a start in the Hall of Fame game, but that's my view. Quite right. Unless those in the know are absolutely certain that ruckmen in the draft will be dominant, it's more than likely they will go for a star mid or forward for that very reason you point out.
  20. I must say reading the article at breakfast yesterday, sure put a "spring" in my step for the day. A reunion looks positive. It must remain positive. We were born out of a ground, not a suburb. There is truth to that.
  21. If work ethic is an issue, then Trent will find himself on the outer, because DB won't muck around to wait for improvement if there is no work ethic. Quite right.
  22. But do you think the Blues will give up 6 for O'Keefe and 24 for Warnock and forget about the draft until the third round (pick 41)? I didn't say the Dons would give up pick 5. They would get a pick in return for Lovett (ie say pick 22 from Port for example). They would then have 5,22,23,... . My point is they may use that pick 22, on forward it for say Colin Sylvia (god forbid not).... Leaving us, 1,17,19,22,35,51,67.
  23. Welcome to Demonland. In short: I think a valuable ruckmen are still very important.(ie. Dean Cox, Drew Petrie, R.Campbell, A.Sandilands). Average run of the mill "C" grade ruckman are not that important. (ie. All the ruckman that struggled to be competitive against the Cox's, Petries, etc) . Ie Cloke, Simmonds, Jamar.
  24. Melbourne Demons Melbourne Heart Every "HEART" beats true for the RED and the BLUE.... Is there a connection here guys?? I don't see any negativity about this either.....as long as we get in first
  25. Looking at the spread of picks. Andrew Lovett if he goes to another club, Essendon I'd imagine would be getting another pick anywhere from 12-27. Now it could be a straight swap for O'Keefe (maybe with exchange of picks), but O'Keefe and Sydney may look elsewhere for a deal besides Essendon. Point is Essendon may want a trade for another player. Their pick 23 may come into play........perhaps one of our players???? Any suggestions to this speculative thought??
