  1. MS Dhoni would be the next Captain in the second test. Is Kumble standing down immediately, Juice?
  2. The bad light rule is nothing more than frustrating, especially when the Aussies were putting on the slower bowlers - White and Clarke.
  3. Was there any link relating to Carroll to not show up, or being asked to stay away from training?
  4. Nuggety type who finds the ball alot. More improvement needed from him IMO to fit in. Watching his progress with interest, looks committed, need to see more from him next season.
  5. I was just happy to hear the players came back better than expected, and reasonably in good nick. They did a weights session this morning. Much less on modified programs. That's all I wanted to know Diablo. Other than that, the other stuff wasn't that interesting.
  6. Western Bulldogs gave up Pick 48 with Farren Ray in return for Pick 31 from St.Kilda.
  7. <_< I wonder what Kreuzer will be on next contract? Or Murphy? Or Gibbs? Stevo? Walker? Fev? And the Judd-ernaut? Will some of them be on as much as Warnock?? I cannot wait in 3 years time to see the Carlton crew scrambling once the Salary Cap limit has been breached again.....at least I hope that is the case....for they can then sing those 'Blues'. One thing is for certain, is that Carlton will go down in history forever with asterisks next to their name (* = cheats), whilst the Melbournefc will always be known as the original proudest and oldest club of the AFL, rich in history. One that has yielded 12 premierships and played in many successful era's (with NO asterisks mind you). Unlike Carlton who has bought their way to premierships every now and then. :D
  8. In our case, 3 top twenty draft picks.
  9. Correct Rogue. You must be sick of stating this time and time again. I believe you would of explained this now for approx. eight times or so...I may have missed a couple of times.
  10. Could be..did they request for him not to attend?
  11. Aren't these ^ grounds for instant dismissal without pay, them being compulsory to attend? If not, they should be.
  12. Yes, definitely...see the above post I quoted...you're spot on there kramer!
  13. The Original is always the best - ,.....they say.
  14. I agree with the trade too. Shouldn't be any pressure on Grimes with his footy though- or living up to TJ if that's what you mean...
  15. The Board of the Mfc and our CEO have the enviable task of doing what is right for the best interests of the club. The Board and CEO and President positions have all changed of recent times. It also looks as though the views of Casey have also changed, hence the stalling. If the Mfc cannot commit to the 30 year community plan due to the various costs associated with this, so be it. If our club cannot commit to this, taking into cosideration its current status and the ever changing current economic climate at risk of losing "everything"...I support them in the process.
  16. Cheers WJ, more evidence on Grimesy's qualities. Enjoy your holiday - did you have to mention Queensland, sun & holiday?? You bugger...
  17. I'm on the same wavelength as you Wrathchild, we're singing the same tune, so to speak. I also agree that we should not go down the Saints and Swans path with rotational captains. To me it's not necessary. Just have a Captain and Vice Captain with their leadership group of six or so for support. I believe the Club Captain, yes, has to be one of the better and more important players at the club. Not necessarily the best. But one who can lead from the front, set the tone for his teammates. IMO Brock McLean has this in spades out of our list. BTW, not sure why Green has to go to hell for you Rusty, he has signed on at the club after carefully considering his future, he was never going to let the club hang out to dry in the end. (ie to the PSD)
  18. Goose, what does Fairyland look like?
  19. No Goose.

    PSD

Is Melbourne a good club Redleg?
  21. Correct. We need to do it through the draft & develop IMO, much like Hawthorn have in some ways. Brown was a pie in the sky - part-time short term fix plan that McNamee wanted. Would it have worked......maybe the first year or two, but as RR has said Mo he's twilight is upon us already IMO and Judd is in his prime for sometime.. It would have been a huge risk and would not have been a good move in hindsight now the AFL has agreed that we reduce our TPP to 92.5%. I'm quite happy to have picks 1,17,19,35,51,67 with the coming draft and PSD#1. Happy that Green has signed on. If Green had gone for a pick I would have wished him the best and been happy with the upgrade in pick - it wasn't to be. He didn't want to go to Sydney which is totally understandable - who would want to live there! (Only kidding Sydneyites). With only 6 trades taking place, its no doubt been a time where most sides want to shore up draft picks with difficult times ahead (ie GC17).
  22. 5/314. M.Hussey is a legend.
  23. They tried ffs. That was their intention. What do you want them to do? Have them had their pants pulled down by getting rid of Jamar for pick 80+, Or Bell for 60+??? Other sides enquired about them but they held back because of their own obvious circumstances. Ie Their own list (which are arguably better than Melbourne's list) and the quality of the draft. They knew their current players were better than what mfc were prepared to offer!!
  24. This is by far more entertaining than trade week.
