  1. The latest article really shows how poor the AFLs attack is getting, FFS they have resorted to arguing about how an injured , first year player still in VCE only played a handfull of games... I can't wait till this joke is over... Hopefully before the Zulus get here
  2. True, but CW is interesting. Unless she is attacking your own club then no one has an issue with her. She stirrers the pot and people like reading that - as long as its not about their club. She knows it, the Age knows it and eveyone is happy that she does it because she makes a name for herself and gets paid, the Age gets money, and eveyone gets a good read as long as its not their club. One man trash is another mans treasure.
  3. Cheers WYL - thought you might like that Gone is the art of journalism, replaced by modern, sensationalist, inept churnalism. Use it as much as possible!
  4. What do you mean if? They are already: The CEO says we didn't tank This investigation was started by a quote by a disgruntled player The year in question was all the way back in 2009 including a game we lost after the siren Anderson has left The investigation is being run by two cowboys hell bent on getting some form of evidence and have included practices such as duress and stop starting recordings Fueled buy repetitive churnalists Initial reports of hardcore evidence being downgraded to a joke References of a systematic and formal meeting down graded to a tin shed and some sketchy meeting at a house And this all lies on one of the most extremely vague and ambiguous rules in the AFL Funnier than Adam Sandler's movie Jack and Jill, more awkward than seeing Tom Cruise in anything past 2005, and as sad as Mel Gibson all in one.
  5. That's a very definitative perspective on one aspect of the evidence which honestly you or anyone else apart from the board/legal team would have know the extent of. Be careful of blanket statements... Particularly implying that they have no evidence when you have merely talked about evidence regarding a direct link between coaching/staff saying to players to tank.
  6. Yes the definition of tanking will be a large part of any argument your all forgetting the most important defence will come from looking at the evidence (ie credibility of the witnesses, quality of the evidence, and conduct of the investigation). This period of the investigation is where we respond to the AFL about the evidence, merely arguing the definition of tanking would look weak, and present a feeble defence.
  7. At the end of the day they will never say move along. They have too much vested interest in this, and at the point where the media has blown it up so much they have to be seen to do something. It's like the whole GWS and $kully issue, they said they would get him and after so many other players rejected them they made a point about recruiting him - no matter what the cost. The AFL will try and charge the MFC with anything, real or conspiracy, from credible witnesses to disgruntled employees.
  8. Fan has raised a good point - love to hate her but hate to not have her to hate. So... This is what stockholm syndrome feels like
  9. You've proved my point... Again it's feeling like groundhog day.Same argument different wording. We know what they are focusing on, who they have interviewed, how they have interviewed, the conspiracy theories involved and where it's currently at. I seriously doubt anyone has 'rolled over'. My gutt feeling is that there is no hardcore evidence and most of it is heresay fuelled from anyone who is disgruntled such as Brock. Just getting boring that every time I log onto DL there is some bs same but new article, someone trying to oust someone else as having a vested interest with a previous or current board, and the loyalty of supporters and posters... I went into hibernation since 2008 to the start of this season- maybe time to do it again. Wake me up when all this bulls$&t is over.
  10. I couldn't think of anything worse- it's all starting to feel like groundhog day
  11. Heaven forbid a couple of blokes having too much to drink on their equivalent of our work holidays. Gee wiz some of you guys are getting on a very high horse around here... Your sh#t stinks just like everyone else's. There is no way in hell 99% of people maintain appropriate behaviour - take this from someone who used to work at a stadium
  12. Dean Bailey. One of the only people who would go through all that he did and still say this. I always liked DB, what's done is done and I really like MN too. Unlike some recent people on DL I'll never compare the two. Long story short - if I ever see Dean Bailey at a pub I'd buy him a pint... And I'm pretty stingy with my money.
  13. Very well put billy. For CC's sake I hope your wrong, but I have to be realistic here: the AFL have spent a long, public time investigating this issue and they will have to charge someone - poor mentality but one which I hope they don't hold, particularly because of AD's comments/opinion on us tanking. Also re the evidence is seems that some of it might be questionable with their start stop recording and duress tactics - wouldn't hold up in the supreme court. My opinion, but as you said - time will tell! Either way I'm not nervous - I've got confidence in the club, the fink and weirdly the AFL for a good outcome.
  14. Interesting, I never thought of that. Adds to the ambiguity, adds to our case. Seeing this type of stuff makes me feel that we wont be charged with anything. Sure the AFL could come up with some bs and yes could charge us, but they have to take into account that we have hired the fink and obviously intend to pursue this further - so unless this is water tight (and it's looking more and more like the titanic) they won't bother.
  15. Actually the Mayan's believe that our calendar will finish (we are in the final period - the 13th period), and we will move back to the first period as the calendar is a circle - not linear. Some view this as there will be a 'cleansing' some not. Every religion has some form of a cleansing. The Christians with the rapture, the ancient nords with Ragnarök. All I know is that the Mayans did not know about leap years so this event would have happened a while ago, and why trust a culture which didnt predict their own demise. There are always people who try and predict the worst, Galileo adopted the shotgun approach and wrote a whole book on events. My favourite are finding people on DL who try and do the same and then say I told you so. Like you, I'm more of a my glass is half empty so there is room for scotch type person.
  16. Bahaha I'll hold you too that biffen! I'll bring some monty python movies
  17. Is it worth $100? Tempted to buy myself a Christmas present...
  18. Remember C&B that there are several avenues the MFC, or any other club, can pursue in regards to the ruling of the AFL. So far there it is obvious that this case is as water tight as the Titanic. They are the judge and jury in the preliminary routine procedures, the are not however the executioner (ie have the final say). Just because there a rumours that they want to press charges doesn't automatically mean we should roll over.
  19. Time to turn on the bat fink-man light...
  20. Haha feel exactly the same old dee. A friend of mine just bought an 86, apparently a guy couldn't come up with the finance and he walked in and quite literally drove out. The waiting list in now 20 months! Handles like nothing else, but a shame about the acceleration, would be good if they had put a turbo on it or at least beefed it up a tiny bit. But I guess thats what for example a Subaru Impreza WRX is for (0-100km in 5 seconds...) and a good second hand one is the same price as the BRZ.
  21. It's the main Subaru service plave. The only good thing is that they don't charge me when I bring it in for them to look at it and they wash it as well... Im clutching at straws here aren't I lol
  22. Andoid is now the more prefered OS for smart phones in Australia - which is incredibly interesting considering they only had 9% market share 4 years ago. In terms of tablets most of my tech friends went with Apple. I'm a pretty big anti-Apple fan, I dont like their battery options (ie cant remove/replace battery in phones), OS (too user friendly), they have a smaller app store ect. BUT my one biggest beef with the iPad is that it doesnt and will never play flash...
