  1. would someone FFS sign up Kennely's grandmother pronto before Eddie hears about her!
  2. Maybe the club should rethink its policy of lobotomizing all new recruits?
  3. it wasn't a wrist injury. it was a finger and he got it taped up
  4. Did you read the article hose? It says what I said before. MFC hasn't advised yet of scans and Larkins is speculating Sheez
  5. he also said melb was getting scans today and he doesn't know the results any breaks was just speculative/possible - he just covered the possibilities of which this was just one
  6. I'd say "WTFIGO" (but without raising my voice, wouldn't want to upset anyone)
  7. There is more self-flagellation on this site than an Opus Dei Retreat
  8. was that the real caro or the fake one?
  9. seriously though what would Tim Watson know about the internal dealings of the MFC? "the fish rots from the head" is just a throw-away line anyone could use and without any facts is totally useless we all know the fish is rotting but why is it the head causing it? A number of posters point the finger at the "administration" for "meddling" with the FD or the players Now I can't understand that. Could someone please explain to me just what specifically the administration could have done to the players to affect them to the extent that they are so totally demoralised and lacking any fight. The administration isn't even on the same premises. Please, just some simple examples, there must be some if it is true I'm open to any suggestions but I want some detail
  10. other than that everything is going to plan.....................
  11. great effort dees, in the end you were just a bit stiff if the umpires hadn't crucified us we would have won there must be an anti-dees conspiracy in the umpiring fraternity Where TF is Stalin when you need him?
  12. Stalin would have a good solution for this lot And it wouldn't cost much either
  13. Ah, simply rejecting it is a different argument to calling it irrational, improper and absurd. you've moved the goalposts slightly nutbean In a simple, traditional, nomadic, small community lifestyle with few personal possessions and no currency, punishment options for serious offenses to traditional law are somewhat limited. That's not meant to be a support statement but just to say that 'payback' penalties are not necessarily "irrational" or "absurd" in that context The problem now is transitioning from "then" to "now" - from what you understand to what someone alien imposes on you You don't achieve that transition by belittling a tradition that was accepted and worked (for them) since the start of time
  14. of course from "our" perspective we probably agree on what is "rational", "proper", "moral" etc but that is within the society we choose to live within and believe in I was just objecting to your describing someone else's society as "irrational", "improper" and "absurd" when they live in a different belief system It's also not true of you to say that "payback" perpetuates violence. In fact it is (or was) generally the opposite as it puts an end to it. what you are seeing with violence being perpetuated is that "payback" law is not being respected or concluded and is being "adulterated" with "white fella" law, leading to this all round unsatisfying situation. Of course all this is further complicated because remote communities don't really live in a fully traditional lifestyle and are stuck with a foot somewhat in both camps, with all the resultant tension, dislocation and discordance. I'm not advocating "payback" law. I don't have any easy fixes, but I just thought it disingenuous of you to describe it in the terms you did clear as mud?
  15. And what is "rational" and "proper" thought when you are talking of a totally different culture These are, as you know rpfc, just words that only have meaning within a certain context which is certainly not that of the remote tribal aboriginal I suppose you would describe the DreamTime as irrational and improper
  16. Schwabby talking to Mitchell on 3AW this morning said Liam had told them the whole story and the club is convinced he told the truth, is innocent and has the club's support Edit: P.S. he was punished for alcohol use whilst in rehab by being forced to train alone for a period
  17. "one that holds the strategic link into China" um...... Kaspersky is Russian
