  1. If this is your attempt at constructive criticism it fails miserably. You question their hardness but don't even have the character to name them. I'll tell you who's soft chump - It's you.
  2. Is this thread for real. Both Bennell and Grimes have played less than a season's worth of footy. Last week it's sack Bailey this week Bennell and Grimes are soft. There's a few of you who need to have a good hard look.
  3. Yeh that's it Clint Bailey finally listened to you and we almost won. You must be kidding. Melbourne are the typical young improving side. Some weeks we will be horrible, some weeks we will be good. What some supporters need to remember is that when we're bad we don't need to sack the coach and get the local Under 12's coach in. We also don't need to have Bailey read the morning sports section to get his match plan. No we just need to have some faith. We've got the best people in well over a generation running this club and we've got some enormously talented kids. Not to mention Morton, Sylvia, Watts, Blease and Garland in the wings. The game today was just a taste of what is on the way. Remember folks we just might get rolled next week but somehow I doubt it. GO YOU GOOD THINGS!!! YOU GOTTA LOVE THEM DEMONS. Oh and Gary, I'm looking forward to this week's fluff piece!
  4. So last year Bailey was developing players by playing them in different positions. this year, after 1 round, that policy is seen as a mistake. What a difference 1 game can make! Too much panic not enough reason. Lyon trots out some obvious points that all at the club would be well aware of. You seriously want Bailey to read the article and change his plans accordingly? If that occurred I would be happy to see him go. If Dunn is the answer to the run with player why is he so scared of the contest?
  5. You're not serious are you? We all, us Demonlanders, know more of what is going on - can see it more clearly than the MFC Football Department. I've read some ridiculous posts but this is special. I hope Bailey read the article so he can follow what the under 12's coach would do!!
  6. Morton, Watts, Jurrah, and Bate is the plan for our forward line. If they come on as expected then we'll have very little to worry about. Throw in Petterd and one of Maric or Wonaeamirri. Rotate Sylvia, Trengove and Scully through there and we'll be kicking the 15 - 20 goals a game that we need. That still leaves us with Garland and Green to help out.
  7. June - July
  8. Ok so we move on Bailey. What do we say about our so called agreement? Who coaches us? What does it say about us as a club?
  9. So we want the club to front the media in 6 - 8 weeks time and say what exactly. We changed our minds. He was the right guy 8 weeks ago but he's not now. Our exhaustive review found him to be the right man for the job and we announced that but now we've changed our minds. You reckon the publicity we're getting now is bad. Who would coach us. Please don't say Connolly, he's a proven dud as a coach. Lyon? that great Under 12's coach. Thankfully our leaders aren't as short sighted as some supporters.
  10. Dunn should take note
  11. Newton chase? Well there's an improvement
  12. I had a terrible, unholy thought today. What happens if after 16 rounds we've only won 4 games? Are picks 4 and 7 on the table or would our club's soul finally be finished off if that happened again. I really hope we can win 5 games before Round 16. I can't sit through that again........or maybe I can..........no...no...yes....nooooooooooo.
  13. Are you serious. What fun would this forum be without it!
  14. The 6 players you talk about all have at least one glaring deffiency, if not more. They are also the ones this club looks to to lead the play on the field. There are no Flower's, Buckley's, Lyon's or anyone near that calibre to lead those around them. Just look at Saturday. We were killed by Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis and Brown. These are big bodied top level premiership players. Not one of the 6 you mention are in the same ballpark as these players. Throw in an underdone Bate and Davey and a concussed Green and we were very lucky the margin wasn't 100 points. To harp on about not getting the most out of your team when your team is in the state ours is is kind of pointless. In the second half he gave Trengove a run with Hodge and then Scully a run with Hodge. he's developing players. We're going to have to wait until Watts, Jurrah, Morton, Garland, Sylvia, Blease, Scully, Trengove, Strauss, Grimes, Gysberts, Mckenzie and co. have played at least a season together before winning becomes important.
  15. i The time has not yet arrived for our "line in the sand game"
  16. what did he tell you ?
  17. I'm just looking forward to the game against Richmond when Watts, Blease, Garland, Gysberts and Maric are all playing and we can start to concentrate on our future
  18. He's talking star players not total spuds!
  19. Bailey has done nothing to warrant a blowtorching but of course he will get it. Personally i'd line up Bruce, Miller, Dunn, Bate and Moloney and tell them if they don't improve dramatically over the next few weeks their time at the club is done.
  20. Feel better
  21. Let's get a media personality with experience in coaching the local Under 12's to coach us simply because he was a good player for us. Panic's turning to stupidity really quickly around here.
  22. Yet another thread to help ponder the same rubbish being served up on around 15 other threads. Do some of us just need to have the first word or can't we be bothered following another thread.
  23. The aftermath of Saturday's game prompted 3 questions of my own -How is that people who witness 1 game of a new season can write off a coach -How is that people expect a bunch of talented youngsters with little to no on field leadership to work cohesively -Why do people start countless new threads to basically discuss exactly the same thing.
  24. I too suggested this. What I then did was have a long lie down and it was when I hopped up that I realised what I had said. i promptly corrected my mistake. Newton, my man, is not the answer. If he is, we're screwed.
  25. That's right you could rebuild the list 10 times in 50 years. At 5 years each time. You've given Bailey 2 and you want him sacked. In 3 years time our youth may not be coached by Bailey anymore (although I think they will) and we'll be an extremely talented side full of 21 - 25 year olds that could well dominate the competition. And then you'll be bowing down to the man who finally said no to quick fixes, the first to do so since Barassi recruited the talent for Northey to coach. So get a grip on reality, a reality you already believe in!
