  1. You remind me of a politician defending his position when he knows it's wrong. You still can't explain why Coglin would go to the media except for your John Howardesque remark about 'doing the club a favour" No wonder you're taking a break your argument has so many holes you've gone off to by a bucket.
  2. So you didn't hear the speech but have spent your morning rabbiting on about Coglin's need to run off to a newspaper with his gripe. And now you question my record with woman. As a father I'd normally be offended by this but from you it's another reason for a laugh. I'm not sure if I've seen another poster with such a negative agenda as you have with Stynes. I know, let's get one of the last dozen or so boards to step up again and see where we'll be in a year's time. You'd have some credibility if any of them had been able to achieve what Stynes and co. have in the first year in charge. The fact remains that going to the Herald Sun was a mistake and makes the club look like amateurs once again. Strong clubs keep these issues in house and sort them out without the help of the Herald Sun.
  3. Let's not get carried away!!
  4. So you heard the speech first hand? I notice in replying to my post you manage yet again to denigrate Stynes and his efforts. What about two people talking about this without the need to run off to hype riddled newspaper. No reply to that or do you think Coglin yelling at Stynes at 3/4 time constitutes a meeting. Coglin and his contempories may have a good track record on woman but the club has always been seen as exclusive. I'm damn glad someone is finally trying to change that.
  5. Brock Mclean anyone? Those who rant on about Bruce do so because they perceive him as soft. If it was just his disposal then he'd have many friends in this team. By the way, he isn't soft and if you think he is you don't understand the game.
  6. I tought he was alright on Sunday. Not brilliant but on a couple of occasions showed some talent. That quick little kick when surrounded by Dogs to set up a goal was all class.
  7. I love the twighlight matches. Get a full weekend with the family then head off to the footy, can't ask for more than that. Not to mention we just might beat them, certainly not to be missed!!
  8. In this media driven sport world where image is so important how could ringing the Herald Sun on such an issue be doing the club a favour? Surely your axe is ground down to the handle by now. The thing I love the most about your posts is how much you hark on about balance and reason. It really is laughable. People with the best interests of this club at heart don't ring crappy newspapers to vent their thoughts on what the President has said. They organise a meeting and thrash it out together.
  9. sadly and Happily I think you are correct. Bailey will be hard pressed to hold this team back. He's creating a monster!!
  10. Impressive backline but Warnock would be stiff to miss out
  11. Watts Morton Grimes Davey Frawley Martin Garland Blease Rivers Jones Moloney Strauss Sylvia Warnock Bennell Petterd Maric Wonaemirri Mclean Jurrah
  12. No change. I think Moloney had a cramp but I can't be sure. Dunn's the easy one but I think they'll keep playing him. Bennell to stay out to give Cheney a run Valenti is going to have a few weeks in the one's Looking at Rivers come off and with his history you'd think it would be at least 2 - 3 weeks
  13. Morton Davey Whelan Moloney Grimes Bate
  14. In for your quick snipe with absolutely nothing more to offer. Another truly informative and thought provoking post. Keep up the good work Bob
  15. Bate - Your appraisal lacks class and smarts, he was very good today, kicked 4, set up at least 2 others. Grimes - 25 touches, 96% effiency- say no more
  16. The free and resulting 50 metre penalty in the last quarter was disgraceful and cost us the game and helped secure picks 1 and 2. Do I laugh or cry, footy's weird this year!
  17. Brock Mclean can't be the next captain of the club. As much as I admire and respect is efforts as a footballer the game is fast going past him if it hasn't already. There is no guarantee that Brock will be in our best 22 in 2 to 3 years time. His lack of speed and faltering body are of great concern. His kicking has lost penetration and some of his decision making is ordinary. I hope he can overcome his body's limitations and remain in our best 22 but with the speed and talent of the youth coming through I'm starting to think his clock has ticked past midnight.
  18. Let's not confuse sniping for willing debate Bob
  19. Thanks for the update. Thanks also for uniting this club and giving it a real chance to succeed in the long term
  20. Maybe the club's still exploring options and thus hasn't signed anything yet. The Casey one puzzles me but I'm in the dark like the rest of us.
  21. Part of the deal with the AFL handing us the money at the beginning of the year was that we had a presence at Bubbledome. That's what stopped the talks we were having with the MCC regarding moving into a revamped Southern Stand. I for one have never liked the sound of Bubbledome. Too expensive and just keeps the clubs parts seperate. This new proposal sounds interesting but we'll have to wait and see.

I'm glad I'm not coach as well. Me expressing my opinions of players and their potential for improvement does not keep anyone on the list for too long. As much as I'd like to be able to talk to Dean Bailey regarding players I just don't have that contact. People like me, please tell me, what sort of person am I? I'm listening and thanks for spelling it out, did you use a dictionary? there's some big words there! Currently neither is playing particularly well, I'm certainly not saying they are. What I am saying is that in my opinion, Dunn has the potential to change his ways regarding contesting the contested ball. That is all I'm saying but thanks for your input. Bate is for another thread. Regarding going back to bed, I think I'll just hit the couch and read my book. Now that is simple!
  23. Just get me to draft day 2009, it's all good from there!

Took longer to come than I thought but who could resist such an opening, certaihly not RR.
  25. Because barracking for Melbourne is about hope. I think it's safe to say that every Melbourne supporter hopes to see Jurrah starring for the club. So we put it out there, we talk him up and we cross our fingers and hope like bloody hell he makes it. Personally a forward line boasting Watts, Jurrah, Butcher, Martin, Maric and Wonaemirri gives me goosebumps, but hey, that's just me!
