Who will be in the new Leadership group
jabberwocky replied to Barney Rubble's topic in Melbourne Demons
You don't put blokes in the leadership group in the hope that they will pull their finger out. -
Exactly.. If what we have gained is greater and of more value to us than what we have discharged then we are stronger. Simplistic?...it doesn't need to be complicated.
-
Not sure where we disagree TimD..maybe on the definition of doing "very well". In the highy unlikely that 5/5 players go to other clubs and do "very well" I would consider that the failure of Bailey and Prendergast greater than I do currently and consider that it was unfortunate that Neeld was unable to get these blokes performing. It is a moot point, 5/5 is not going to happen.

What game was that...... the one where people discussed the subject of the thread within the thread? Where is this name calling? There is none... just an adjective used to describe your post. I leave the name calling to you and Rhino. I do my best to avoid that stuff and argue the content, which again you have failed to address.
-
Have heard the same things from the same club.
-
Still nothing, more name calling. Addressing nothing...... Why are you in this thread?
-
Again, I have been addressing the thread, try reading it Address the argument, address the thread and stop flaming. I find the name calling and your attitude inappropriate and sadly typical. I also find your attempt at bullying sad and slightly amusing. Surely what you are doing breaches the spririt of the site.
-
Aha there he is, not addressing arguments and name calling. Address the thread or the hypocrisy in Fan's posts. Look up Modus Operandi.

dis·in·gen·u·ous /ˌdisinˈjenyo͞oəs/ Adjective Not candid or sincere, typically by pretending that one knows less about something than one really does. Synonyms insincere - false - devious - hollow-hearted

Patronising response, and you seem to be on your own again. And as usual you did not address the content in my post. Ah well, others can have a read.

Still missing the point. The players mentioned that were relaeased/traded were not drafted under the Neeld regime, and they were "developed" largely by another FD. So your attempt to heap all of the responsibility on Neeld for thier failures is unfair and dare I say it again ..suspicious. I don't care that the coach gave a crap opening speech at a dinner function. I don't care if people believe that the method of his appointment was flawed and that there were quick executive decisions made. I don't care if people get their nose out of joint at a authoritarian coaching group who want total control of the FD. I don't care if that you will think this is an over simplification and will probably form another patronising response attempting to assert your intellectual dominance. This is about the MFC fielding a decent and disciplined football side in the short term with the ambition of playing finals in the medium term. I don't want a club lead by committee and hamstrung by politics. NB: As for the first line in your OP it comes off as confusing and disingenuous.
-
Yeah I agree with that, but I feel Neeld would have liked him to stay on our terms. It was pretty clear through the year that it was over between him and the MFC after failing to buy in after being dropped.
-
5, and of the 5 a couple were of enough value for us to trade in order to fill specific needs. Moloney and Rivers would have stayed but elected to leave they weren't let go. Judge the footy dept on the list that is created now.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCHELL CLISBY

And from that package buys himself time and makes great decisions, see how he goes when we speed things up. Also loves a tackle and they stick. -
Maxy may never play another game for the dees but could still be the most influential player of the decade.

I'm pretty tough Fanny, one avatar and all that. Lets not do this again. You like Caro, I don't like her disrespecting my club... surprise surprise. She is just another [censored] shock journo. I like objectivity. -
Morton WC: Skinny outside mid with questionable mental strength and poor disposal. Can run all day. Not AFL standard. If you are going to be a skinny mid you need to be as good as Lewis Jetta or Stephen Hill on the outside. Bennell WC: Skinny outsider who cannot find the footy and cannot influence a contest physically. Good skills and speed. Gysberts NM: Skinny insider/clearance player who cannot physically influence a contest, below average pace average and skill. Not AFL standard. Martin Bris: Athletic big man who doesn't take enough marks and gets lost but may continue to improve. Serviceable ruckman. Moloney Bris: Very good front running clearance mid, poor defensive side due to a failure in development/coaching. Too far gone for Neeld to remedy. Needs a change. Will no doubt get some BOGs at Brisbane, will never be an MFC regret however. Petterd Rich: X factor forward whose ambition doesn't match his size. Should have been 6 inches taller and 10kg heavier. Like the bloke just not durable enough. Can play midfield but better options. If fit will perform well at tiges, but likely to break down. Rivers Geel: Wanted to go. Most players have a physical deficiency which prevents them from playing the role for which they were drafted.

If they start winning flags with our rejects at front and centre then I will be concerned.

I don't think it's the reporting of the facts that irks people, it's the use of emotive language and moral judgements that she makes. But hey if you want to applaud someone who calls our club "pathetic and disgusting".... -
Who cares? If Neeld achieves a shift of culture, gets the club moving in the right direction and we start playing finals.. These decisions need to be looked at with a broader view, and the results judged on what happens at the MFC not elsewhere.
-
I think a number of players in that list will be serviceable at their new clubs and a couple may do very well. I have stated in another thread that I wouldn't consider their delisting/trading mistakes in that scenario. Some of those players had run their course at the MFC and sometimes these deals have a way of suiting all parties. Also some of the players can't give Neeld what he needs from a physical POV and they may suit other club's game styles.

Yep, then we'd never be able to find him, which kinda fits well, seems to be a mystery man. -

We are obsessed with South Aussies...Todd? -
Absolutely, but we may have removed any gentlemanly reluctance on thier part to shaft us with the events of last year. And they had a pick to use before we did, thems the brakes.
