Farewell Jesse Hogan
It’s on the MFC website. The article is entitled ‘Melbourne is waiting upon a reasonable Freo offer’ or something similar.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
As an aside, Hogan should speak to the Wizz about whether he has any regrets.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Like everyone here, I was a Hogan fan. But his seemingly non-committal approach to the club always irked me. He seems to lack passion for the place - and that, to me at least, is an important intangible that our more important players simply have to possess. That he has now requested a trade to Freo, means that I can no longer get excited about the bloke - it’s as though he’s merely treading water in the red and the blue. I’d be super happy with May and a top ten pick for him.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yeah perhaps, but at it’s very highest, it’s dumb noise. It’s the way I’d expect some idiot redneck in a pub at Kargoorlie to negotiate the deal. It’s basic and lacks class. Pick 11 and next year’s second rounder for Hogan. I mean, fair dinkum. Even my 5 year old would laugh at that.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
After 273 pages, the only conclusion that I have drawn is that Fremantle is an absolute joke of a club at the moment. Thanks for completely wasting our time (to date) Peter Bell.

Andrew Gaff
Yeah, nice post. Perhaps unfortunately, I don’t see the world in black and white. But I understand that many in Kansas do. To assess Gaff’s entire character and personality on that one incident, is the very reason we no longer endorse public lynching as a society, even though many rednecks would love to have it back. It seems that Andrew Brayshaw has forgiven him - good on you for continuing to hold the grudge though.

Andrew Gaff
Gaff strikes me as a really decent fellow. He seems to have a sensitivity about him which is rare among footy players. Good luck to him. Would’ve loved to see him in the red and the blue, but it seems we were never realistically in the mix. Sucked in North.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
Kade seems to have good pedigree and an interesting journey prior to being drafted at pick 5 by the Suns. https://www.themercury.com.au/sport/afl/stage-set-for-tassie-twins/story-fnj4f7h7-1226762858214

Farewell Jesse Hogan
You can’t seriously compare Jesse Hogan to Tom Scully ...
-
Farewell Dean Kent
Kent’s a solid player. St Kilda’s offer reflects this (even though it looks and feels like an offer from MFC’s playbook circa 2012). I think Kent’s best 22 for us. In this context, pick 75 is a joke - mid 30s seems about right.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Hogan is clearly an incredible talent and it seems we were very fortunate to have landed him. That said, we seem always to be walking on egg shells when it comes to Hogan and his medium to long term commitment to the club. The spectre of a return to Freo has been lingering like a bad smell forever, and, if as some say, a return to Perth is inevitable, it’s just a matter of when - then we’d be absolutely crazy not to consider an almighty deal right now if Freo is desperate to land him. 2 high first round draft picks at a minimum, one of which goes to the Suns for Steven May.

Bernie Vince Retires
One of my favourite ever Demons. I love Bernie. My 5 year old son will be devastated. He loves Bernie too. Not quite sure how I'm going to break this news to him.

Andrew Gaff
I suspect for him to play alongside Angus Brayshaw, he’d have to convince Angus (and the rest of the Brayshaw family) that he absolutely did not intend to injure Andrew in the way he did and that he is not otherwise a sniper/poor character. Bugg and Angus Brayshaw appear to get on very well - perhaps Angus already has some insight into the effect that this can have on the perpetrator, especially if the harm was genuinely not intended.
-
Andrew Gaff
He should get 8 weeks - it was a terrible incident, much worse than Bugg’s IMO both as an incident and in respect of the injury it caused. I’d still like to see Gaff in the red and the blue next year. I otherwise hope Brayshaw recovers quickly and it has no impact on his confidence going forward.

The Many Sides of Jake Melksham
Both absolutely fantastic additions to this club. Super shrewd recruiting. I hope to see both of them lift the Cup sometime soon in the red and the blue.

Andrew Gaff
Geez I hate the expression ‘cooked’ when it’s applied to footballers. There’s something not quite right about it. Whilst I’d like to see Gaff in the red and the blue, I don’t see why doesn’t Goodwin throw Jayden Hunt on a wing if he’s not liking him in defence. He definitely has outside run. In spades.

Is Brayshaw more rounded than the Trac?
ESP.

Is Brayshaw more rounded than the Trac?
I reckon Brayshaw would be one of the least likely ‘required’ players to entertain leaving this club. He’ll be a Demon forever. Do I know anyone who’s said this? Nope. No one. But I’ve followed this club for far too long, and I have a fair bit of life experience - so yep, I reckon he’ll stick around. I want to see T Mac’s signature first though. He’s beyond important.

They complement each other. Much like Selwood and Dangerfield. And Cotchin and Martin. In the years to come, that is.
-
Charlie Spargo
He’ll be my favourite player one day.
-
Sam Weideman
Curnow seemed a more obvious choice, but Weidemann seems to be a completely different type of tall forward. I expect his selection was very deliberate. And considered. I absolutely trust our recruitment and development these days, so I reckon he’ll make it. Perhaps not this year though, in the years to come. It’d be interesting to know what they are saying about him internally though.

Millionaire Ex-Demon
Hmmm - doesn't look very good (on the face of it).

Christian Petracca declares his loyalty (2018)
Full price. It was actually a pretty funny conversation. I had to convince the lady in the sales department that it was okay, that I’d act as his proxy etc, much as I would if he had already been born but was only, say, one week old. She wasn’t convinced until I said, ‘look, the club needs the numbers’, to which she responded, ‘too right, can’t say I’ve seen this before, but okay’. It was during the Neeld years. The club hadn’t had a new member in a couple of years.

How this for timing - I literally just opened my four year old son’s new membership pack. On the front of his membership card, it has a photo of Petracca. He’s Henry’s favourite player - Henry thinks he’s a real life T-Rex. On the back of his membership card, it says ‘Consecutive years of membership: 6’. I signed Henry up as a 20 week old foetus - exact full name and accurate (future) date of birth. Pretty confident he’s the youngest official member in the history of the club. He’s already waiting for his signed birthday card from the red and blue T-Rex. I’m relieved he’s committed to this club.
