  1. Great - thanks. This guy will coach this club for the next decade.
  2. If the club does not re-sign Green, I will be extremely disappointed. We have a bad track record for treating club stalwarts well - and this would constitute yet another bad example of this. Sign him up asap.
  3. Go the Dawes rumour. If true, I'm stoked.
  4. Moloney to win IMO, followed by delivering a passionate (future) Captain's speech.
  5. Dunn is hard at it. I would like to see him at the club in 2012.
  6. I'd be interested to know what the pool of players (as compared with an unrealistic wish list) are either off contract or likely to be put up for a trade by clubs in 2011. It seems to me that Chris Dawes is one. As is Brian Lake. Jesse White seems to be another. Can people add others to the list?
  7. Totally agree.
  8. Yep, too true - I thought exactly the same thing. I'm really happy about this appointment. Hope they also announce Neil Craig in the next few days.
  9. Totally agree - Neeld and Craig would be absolutely awesome. Craig is one of the very best in the game, and Neeld is clearly ready to take the next step. Every coach rates Craig very, very highly. If this is true, I am totally stoked. Someone suggested they had seen Garry Lyon meet with Malthouse at a few different coffee shops in recent weeks. It seems we now know why.
  10. Total class act. Really hope he gets a good role sometime soon.
  11. Agree. Like everyone here, I'm a massive fan of Trengove - but he's still too young to be the Captain. Surely that's obvious - I expect the 27 year olds would find it hard to attentively listen to someone that young. Jones could make a good Captain too IMO.
  12. Very happy with Neeld. We need Neil Craig though as a mentor - those who don't see that can't spell - weird, but true.
  13. Funny that - because Kevin Sheedy said to a stack of my mates on the Friday before the Monday (on which Scully allegedly 'made' his decision) that GWS would be announcing at midday on Monday that Scully had joined GWS. And guess what - that's exactly what happened. Scully has no credibility in relation to this. I hope that even the Scully cheerleaders on this site now recognise this.
  14. There will be a few 'experienced' coaches sitting on the bench next year who would've loved to coach the Dees. We overlooked them. You can read into that that we had higher expectations. Neeld, if he's our man, will be good. Very good. I would like to see Neil Craig at the club in some capacity too. Or, of course, Mick Malthouse.
  15. If we can't get Malthouse, I really like the idea of Burns and Craig. Would be a really good result IMO. I want Malthouse though.
  16. You are a gun! Would you please change your name to 'Dr' Webber. I don't know whether you're right on this or not, but you sound very convincing. Surely the MFC should have picked this up prior to recruiting him too?
  17. Has young Tom joined Hillsong in Sydney's north west yet? Perhaps this was the non-monetary factor in his decision to head north? I expect Sheeeeds will love his boys singing hymns before and after each practice session. Just the culture Sheeeeeds would be seeking to introduce at GWS.
  18. This would make my whole year. Geez I hope we can get him.
  19. As you know RobbieF, there are some posters here who refused to accept it's been a distraction for the club. Apparently Scully was well within his rights to string the club along all year and sign in his own time at the end of the season. Brad Green, for one, is probably happy the club now knows how much head room there is in the cap.
  20. It probably also accounts for why Scully was so reluctant to discuss his intentions at the end of season, despite the club's wishes that he do so. Our next group of elite players will be home grown. And I think we'll have a few in Trengove, Watts, McKenzie, Frawley, Gysberts, Morton (dare I say), Viney etc.
  21. I may be howled down for this, but I think Morton could be the next Adam Goodes. Like Goodes though, he will take some time to develop.
  22. I'm not re-writing history. It was written today. Quite clearly I would've thought.
  23. Why? In order to censor some of the ignorant vitriol displayed by certain posters on this very thread towards others who posted, in good faith, comments that were at odds with their cheerleader view of Tom Scully and 'his word'?! The reality is, many people knew this was stitched up a long time ago. For instance, I merely posted what I had heard at a GWS coterie function held at the Swans v Collingwood game several months ago, only to get hounded down by some genuinely idiotic posters. I've heard plenty since, but didn't see the value in posting it on this site in the circumstances. And fyi - only last Friday, Kevin Sheedy was boasting to a number of my mates that GWS had landed Scully and that an announcement would be made around midday on Monday (ie, today). Funny that, because that's exactly what happened. Between Friday and today though, Scully has been declaring to all and sundry that he had still not yet made up his mind. I pose the question - is that really plausible? And, to think, we probably didn't take Jack Darling because of fears about his character. No doubt, he'll end up playing about 310 games for the Eagles - whereas our prized number one draft pick gave us 31 reaonably average games. Thankfully our number 9 has what we need in spades.
  24. And that is why we need to do everything we can to get Malthouse to coach this club from October 2011. How much of a momentum changing statement would that be?!
  25. The MFC is good enough for the likes of Trengove, Watts, Frawley, Petterd, Tapscott, Gawn and a whole host of other promising juniors to commit. Make of that what you will.
