Good effort in a terrible condition down there. What is a worry is their goals were from really bad mistakes in front of goal, from poor decisions and skill execution. But game one under pressure so I'll take it. With so few games its so important to win he early ones.

She should be constantly talking to the players and find out what is happening in the club, not relying purely on what's being reported up. His challenge is attracting players to our club that fit within our salary cap. The majority recently have been depth players bought in as security. Whereas talent is really coming from he draft. He can only get those that out of contract or want to move. The Houston news, shows they are active in targeting players during the year to keep improving the main list, i.e. the 23 we put on the park each week. Any real we haven't been that active in since putting the team together up to 2021. With the move towards Houston ew can see they need more players to refresh our list to challenge again.

Looking back, not a brilliant draft overall. As for the other comments, he was better last night in the game. 1 terrible turnover but he composure seemed better than in previous games. If you in and out of the team its harder to really settle mentally as when you play you also thinking if you screw up your out the next week. That pressure often results in actions and decisions that is not how a player would normally play. When you have certainty in your place, you see players develop a lot faster has they'll take risks and put the team before themselves. He should have more regular game time post Kings' birthday to develop at the top level.

They were well drilled in moving the ball from contest to the open, and maintain their structure with players staying out to receive the relaxing handball. They also setup for a fast break from defence. Once it cleared half back it was one, very quickly as their players run very hard to be an option, hence all the 1 out makes in their forward line. As others noted by trying to compress the field we could not stop this. Our movement from defence. Freo spread and blocked any space very quickly (like we did in 2021 and early 2022), it was impressive to watch. Personally I blame the open taring session they are now doing. Both games this year in Perth they had an open training session the day before and we got pumped. Up till this year they didn't have them, that's my unscientific reason for losing at our second home. some great signs with the young players, but while we may sneak into the 8, we wont be seriously contending unless we hit some rare form quickly.
