  1. Good summary.
  2. You have probably summed it up correctly.
  3. Agree. Also he will be a better player with quicker and more talented players around him.
  4. Into the hyperbaric chamber during the week and he plays his 150th and last next week with Wheats and Robbo.
  5. 100.
  6. Oh ! Can I ask him to give my best wishes to Dr. Frasier Crane?
  7. Why 11.45 PM on Saturday? We play the next day.
  8. He could do that without being on the MFC list. I acknowledge that Junior has had a great career but he is 33 in a few weeks and getting slower and I don't feel it would be best for him and the club to go on next year. Yes he is an experienced player but so are several others. IMO he will struggle to get a game and most good players retire rather than end up playing in the reserves for the rest of the year. He deserves better than that and should go out on top. Green as Captain for a couple for years until the next one presents himself with Davey as his deputy would work well and provide great pride and incentive to our current and future indigenous players. If Junior retires we have another rookie spot on the list and that kid may one day emulate Junior. IMO it is an extremely short term view to keep Junior and not in the best interests of club or player.
  9. Next you will be suggesting that we have picked a slow backline to play on a pretty quick blues forwardline.
  10. If the Jamar rumour is true, or Meesen's injury is not healing, PJ is safe. Personally I would keep him anyway as while no champion he can fill a few roles and has height, pace and mobility.

    Jamar

Under two months, as the trade week will be over by then.
  12. Looking at your suggestion has made me really think about the prospect of doing a deal for pick 2 for a player and say pick 8/9. I am not sure if Boak, the player mentioned is as good or better than Trengove but if we assumed he was similar and is a Melbourne boy ( no go home factor ) and we could also get pick 8/9, the deal becomes very interesting. We would then be getting two players for the pick and effectively three inside the first 8/9. The other big issue of course is whether that sort of deal is possible.
  13. This is now a sad fact of modern football as even Robbo acknowledged today on the SEN interview. Robbo got his break as a rookie when we were rebuilding and the same situation is seeing his career with us end. Teams that are rebuilding need to move ageing players on, whereas teams that have a shot at the flag can carry them for a year or two longer. The hope is that they can help win that elusive flag. He will not do that with us. The other relevant point is that we need to free space on our list and even with Robbo, Wheats and Wheels going we need more spots and it is getting very hard to find the way to do it.
  14. Not sure of accuracy but heard at lunch from a Blues supporter that Warnock has either reinjured his foot or it is still bothering him. We will see if he plays this week.
  15. Not be unhappy, it would be one of the best days of my life.
  16. Thanks Robbo for your career with the Dees. You were an exciting player to watch and gave the crowd value for their dollar. You were also very approachable and I recall a couple of chats after pre season games etc. where you were happy to spend time with a supporter (me). If you play the last 2 games and kick 5 more goals you will be the third highest goal kicker with the MFC. That is a pretty good stat considering the history of the club and the fact thst you came off the rookie list, like our current captain. If you play on good luck and if you don't well done and thanks for the memories. PS. Despite the advertised height I don't think you are taller than 184cms, which makes your record even better.
  17. No, unlimited.
  18. I am sure plenty will be invented.
  19. I don't follow your rationale. You are suggesting trading an uncontracted player and going backwards on a pick, when we could simply delist him and keep the better pick. Why would anyone do that? I would certainly be happy with trading a couple of unwanted contracted players and a pick for an improvement in picking order or for a player and lesser pick.
  20. Great news and more to come. Hope to hear soon that Petterd has signed for at least two years.
  21. Thanks Theo I enjoyed hearing it after missing it live.
  22. You could get their pick 42 for our 34 and it would be a nice deal. They have shown interest in Bell and with Tredrea close to finished Newton may have some appeal.
  23. Absolutely. PSD 1 is a strong bargaining tool and a useful pick as well. Last year Liam Jurrah.
  24. Couldn't agree more.
  25. Watched Matthew Bate pretty closely last week and last few games and I believe he will be a fantastic player for us in the future. He is tall and quick, has a long and accurate kick, is prepared to run all day and while capable of the odd fumble has pretty good hands in the marking area. When our full side is up and going and he is played as a roaming half forward he will become an extremely dangerous player for the opposition to cover. I look forward to him becoming one of our main men in the coming years.
