  1. The AFL made that clear in refusing any PP of any value.Roos is going to have to find a Kennedy/Mumford type player or actually a few of them and then improve the list we have to make us a destination for players again. Good thing is it can be done and we have several highly rated young players who can improve under a good coaching/development regime.
  2. Absolutely. Sweeteners Dawes and Barry.
  3. So would I.To add some spice though I would start leaking to the media that we are falling in love with Aish. If he is really the 1 in 1000 player, how could you let him go?
  4. You are not suggesting that we would be investigated for doing it after 10 previous efforts by other clubs were ignored, are you?
  5. GWS have said he is not for sale.
  6. Disagree. He missed some games with injury but was often overlooked when fit.It was a major discussion point among some mates and myself at the time.
  7. They didn't need me to, they were doing pretty well without me.
  8. We couldn't find a pen to sign the contract with.
  9. 272 less than Robbie Flower.
  10. I remember being very annoyed at the time that Scott was not getting a game under Daniher and predicting that he would leave. He was a terrible loss to us that IMO could have been avoided.
  11. Bucks, Rocket and Pert sitting next to me in my hotel bar in Manchester. Heard the name Adams mentioned a couple of times. If Shaw goes to GWS you can lock it in I would suggest. Bucks said he thought we might be pretty quiet in trade week when I asked him. He looks fit enough to still play.
  12. Sitting in the bar of my hotel in Manchester and between me and the 3 guys at the next table, we have played over 800 games of AFL footy. The other 3 were Bucks, Rocket and Pert. Spoke to them and asked if any goss and they said later in the week. Bucks said he thought we might be pretty quiet in trade week. They were going to watch Man U play before coming home. I did hear Adams name mentioned. It would make sense if Shaw goes to GWS as Pies are one of his 2 preferred clubs.
  13. Hi guys, hello from Manchester. Robyn Van Persie says hello. I am away for a few days and Sylvia leaves, Greg Healy leaves and a mates horse wins the Manifold Stakes. What is going on? No good rumours for us ATM. Getting the feeling that FA may be a disaster against for the AFL. Don't think it will achieve what was hoped. The strong get stronger and the weak are further weakened. Well done AD. We should go hell for leather to get the highest compo possible for Sylvia considering we got no PP. Buddy and Tippett to a club that won a flag and get another million every year paid by the AFL is a disgrace when we get a million asa once off and it is the biggest deal ever according to the media and the other clubs. At the same time we get the sh.t timeslots and are condemned to mediocrity with no ability to earn real money. It is a disgrace. Even the Mancurians agree with me. I am looking around for possible players but they are only good with a round ball. Looking forward to seeing WJ soon and discussing the MFC. Keep up the news guys, it is much appreciated by all Demonland readers.
  14. Good luck with trading guys, look forward to reading good news for the Dees. Go Dees.
  15. It can only start with the fixture, otherwise there has to be handouts and the receivers are portrayed as beggars. That is the AFL's doing. It has to stop.
  16. We never acted on Daniher's call to be ruthless. Now is the time.
  17. I will be when he is off the list.
  18. Brad Miller's wife and she is stunning.
  19. Politically corrupt the AFL-nah. Doc Reid wouldn't agree.
  20. Wonderful, he knew the result before the board met, gotta love the AFL.
  21. Off tomorrow early. Will rely on you guys to keep the best thread on Demonland active and strong. You will be my source of trading news while I am away.
  22. Thats fine as long as we are allowed to fish in the same water as the other clubs and not made to fish in a toilet. The fixturing is designed to keep clubs like us at the bottom while the excuse is the TV want the big clubs. You can't become a big club unless you are given the same conditions to improve, not continually handicapped without a fishing rod and expected to do it with a piece of cotton.
  23. To be honest I am thrilled that we now have a great midfield. Who are they, I don't know, but we must have, because the AFL told us today that we will be fine. I don't know how I got that so wrong. Maybe winning 2 games, 1 by a point and the other against the new guys, who we incidentally were the only team they could beat, should have tipped me off. Those thrashings early on when we were described as pathetic and a disgrace, should also have tipped me off to how really good we actually are. Anyway, decision made, move on. What do we do now, anything within the rules to improve. I would try and convince a very good player to come to us via the PSD. Pay him overs if you have to. Trade pick 2 for a top mid if we can and try and get a pick back that we could also trade for another not as good mid. I would start talking about FAIRNESS in the AFL and let it be known that fixturing cannot continue to be so compromised, if all clubs are to have a chance at success. You can't succeed on the field without succeeding off it and we are being given no chance to succeed off it with the current arrangements. This can be done subtly by using the media. We do what Daniher said some years ago, get RUTHLESS.
  24. REALITY.
