  1. Protecting Watts would be a bonus.
  2. If Oscar comes in with Pedo, then Pedo can ruck, with Tom, Frost or Oscar having a go forward and relief rucking. That would leave Watts to play permanent forward, providing forward structure.
  3. Better change the banner then, it's Jetta's 100th.
  4. I know the FD rate JKH, but I don't think they did him any favours, picking him after one ordinary game for Casey. It may have been better to give him another run with Casey, to find fitness and form. FWIW, I thought he was terrible and that includes his 7 tackles. He was just plain terrible. Dropping marks, turning it over, fumbling, looking slow and actually being a liability. If he stays in, hopefully he can give us a better game this week.
  5. And unless someone knows something about it, it appears we accepted the AFL ruling without complaint, or argument. Also if we had bigger key forwards, like Daniher, Boyd, Patton, Hawkins etc, they could ruck a bit, but ours aren't, so that exacerbates our current problem.
  6. One week accepted. Hayden Walters – North Ballarat Football Club AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Walters for engaging in rough conduct against Casey Demons player Angus Brayshaw during the second quarter of the VFL Round 2 match, Casey Demons vs North Ballarat on Saturday 22nd April, 2017. Based on the available video and medical report, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with medium impact to the head. The incident was classified as a two match base sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacted the penalty, therefore North Ballarat have the option to accept an early guilty plea of a one match sanction. Outcome – accepted one match sanction
  7. Sincere condolences to Jesse, his family and family friends and relatives.
  8. We have to be really inventive and innovative with our ruck problem atm. Pedo looks the likely one to take most of it with help from others, but it gives us a chance to try things from left field. Roving to their ruckman, not opposing and inducing the opposition ruck to grab the ball and then tackling him, having a mid have a half hearted go and then following the tap, lining up 2 extra defenders and then having 4 mids and either forcing the ruck to hit it forward or bring it to ground where we have another player and in a boundary throw in, having someone like Vince go up and use his knees on the other ruckman and whatever else they can come up with. We need to mix it up. We need to become unpredictable so their ruckman has some confusion as to what we are doing. Might not work, but it might give us an occasional advantage where atm we have none.
  9. Anyone got a spare ruckman at home they don't need?
  10. You said no one is untouchable, Max is. What would it take for him to be dropped?
  11. No injuries on Monday would have done it.
  12. Gawn says hello.
  13. We don't do that, other sides do.
  14. Agree with you. We punted on Max staying fit and having Jake as a backup if he didn't. Losing both in 3 weeks for long periods is just plain bad luck. We are now in a very difficult position.
  15. The Herald Sun reporting of the game is a disgrace. Loved the Dees caller to SEN post game last night, who lashed the commentators for fawning over the Tigers. Got them to admit that if not for the injuries we win. PS. Rance says he didn't even know or was aware we had injuries. Then admits their Coaches were telling them we were down players and would run out of legs and also noticed that we had no ruckman for most of the game. Also he was on Watts early, but was then left as a sweeper when Spencer went off and Watts did all the rucking. I won't listen to him speak anymore.
  16. On 4/23/2017 at 8:41 AM, Redleg said: I think the Smith Curse is still with us. Has any other club lost their most important player? Does any other club have the injury list we have? We lose a game we dominate with poor kicking while the other side can't miss. Similar the next week where we lose by a couple of points after leading with 2 minutes to go and gifting the last goal. Our players get the heaviest suspensions which cost one or both games lost. Ollie continues to dominate. Our so called stars are not starring. Injured players play against us and dominate. Gus injured again. Etc. I wrote this on another thread before the game, in a semi light hearted way. It seems even more apt after last night.
  17. Agree. We were out on our feet before three quarter time and don't lose the game until the last 4 minutes. Sensational effort Dees. All the Watts knockers can get stuffed. Guy is busting his guts for us. The better side lost, end of story.
  18. One of the worst posts on DL ever.
  19. Unfortunately we still play poorly skilled and poor instinct footballers and they are costing us games. It is not just possies it's what you do with them.
  20. Come Mr. tally man, tally me banana.
  21. Well you know bananas and cheese crackers come from the same supermarket.
  22. Ok, but I am partial to those brown crackers with the raisins/sultanas. Also no Brazil nuts as not my taste.
  23. And so it should, it is clearly the most dangerous item ever taken onto a football field and without doubt is the most serious and pressing issue in the AFL.
