He didn't have to, as he was always the one with the ball. And seriously, the 73 kg Robbie was far more courageous than the 96kg Jack has ever been. Robbie went in head over the ball, Jack doesn't. As I said I really like Jack but lets not make him it out to be what he isn't. He is a sublimely skilled footballer who plays the game on his terms. Pulling out of contests and not making footy your number 1 priority is not the Goodwin mantra.
-
Now you have gone too far.
-
I can't see the downside as picks are speculative at best and here is a giant of a kid who can kick goals and was pick 2 a couple of years ago and we can have him for 35. If he fails so what. We turn over a few every year anyway. If he makes it, it could be the steal of the season.
-
Keep reeling him in Biff. I know you are joking.
-
Got a feeling I might be politely dismissed. I might be completely wrong, but I just get the feeling that this kid will still be a good AFL player and that he is there for the taking. The Lever pick of 35 we got, would apparently get it done.
-
Was she happy that at least you named two males?
-
5 thrilling days left of trade time for 2017.
-
I still think if we can do the Watts deal early this week and know what picks we have, there is another out there. Balic is a formality.
-
Then again we could have drafted Harry Toumpas or Johnny Cook, relatives of two former great picks.
-
Or so the public has been told.
-
Who did we get for that second round pick and how many games has he played Biff?
-
Should I call Josh, Todd or Jason?
-
So that would be 30 and Balic for Watts and 66. Don't think we have finished with list spots yet.
-
I asked a simple question. Why do you think JW has not announced his preferred destination?
-
It was a real toss up for us between Gus and Lever. Club has followed Lever closely since and the JT to Tigers attempt, was purely to get Lever. As we all know the Tiger's Doctor stopped that. We have got our man. The FD are very, very happy.
-
Why not?
-
What do you think is a fair price? Remember we are also seeking to clear $1m of cap space. That might be the space that allows us to get someone else.
-
We wanted Salem and believed correctly we could get him with 9. We thought Tyson would be a very good player for us. If his disposal was better, he could have nearly been that for us. He is still a regular 22 and we haven't got better players to keep him out just yet. Salem can still improve and if Tyson improves disposal it becomes a better deal.
-
I said that, I was more interested in why it hasn't been announced.
-
A pick around mid second round and freeing up $1m is deemed reasonable. Suggestions of 30 and 3 pick upgrade on 36. Hardly anyone else is chasing him apparently. No offers from Swans or Cats. What do you see as his price?
-
The Age reporting that Jack has gone overseas. Probably not aware of Bernie's wedding in Adelaide. He is probably off after that. It would now seem likely that Jack has made his mind up about which club he prefers and would have instructed his Manager accordingly. Reports suggest it is Port. If true, why hasn't it been confirmed so that the clubs can start negotiating? Maybe they are negotiating anyway in the belief it will happen. Bit strange really.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC
Redleg replied to ignition.'s topic in Melbourne Demons
Which they said they won't do. -
Jack Billings was his preferred.
-
So you don't think he would make it as used car salesman or a real estate agent?
