  1. I am with you. There is more to it than player blame.
  2. Must be out of them, as the banana never lets you down.
  3. Well is another season about to completely unravel?
  4. With Oscar, a returning Lever, a developing Petty, Frost and Keilty and the shorter pinch hitting Smith, we are ok for key backs.
  5. What are you talking about, this is not a personal development seminar. It's a football club.
  6. Agree Bin and that is why I have been banging on on DL for the last few years, to get rid of our ball butchers, as they start most of our troubles. We have recruited the hard body contested players , just about totally at the expense of some skillful and quick players, who can also apply defensive pressure.
  7. There seems to be a " do one thing wrong and you are gone" policy with us. Billy and Frost seem to be victims of it, being given 1 game each I think this year and dropped after an error or two never to return. I wrote on here several times not to let Dunn go, who was also a victim of the policy apparently. He has certainly fitted in well and added to the 2nd team on the ladder, up until his ACL on the weekend. I am not worried about Oscar who will continue to get stronger and better and who bar 1 -2 games has been good. One of our Coaches who coached at the Dogs, dumped Higgins, who is now a Brownlow contender at the Roos. They don't know everything clearly, but sometimes they take a line and refuse to budge, no matter what is happening. We seem to have developed a fairly slow list and with Hunt out and Jeffy in poor form it is much worse. I said over summer we needed more pace, skill and spread from players who can also apply defensive pressure like a Daniel Rioli. IMO we need to make that our main priority. A Saad or Matthew Whelan type in the back half would also be helpful to allow us to turn defence into attack the way the 3 teams who have just beaten us did.
  8. With Hunt and Jeffy playing good footy, we are a far more formidable team. ATM we are probably the slowest team in the AFL.
  9. Jack Trengove 13 8 21 8 0 3 2 4 0 0 92 Fair game.

Looks like Gaff is no chance then.
  11. Well I would cop Etihad instead of Darwin. We have to put winning games first and money will follow. This game just stuffs us up and it is for more than 1 week.
  12. Neither could Ringo, but he was still the drummer for the greatest band in the world. Weid is developing and most good players don't necessarily rip the VFL apart, as it is played somewhat differently and with less skill in passing the ball etc. I think Weid will be the regular 3rd key forward next year.
  13. Or just open your eyes. I recall a couple of years ago many thought Oscar hopeless. Today he is our main key back.
  14. Neither would I. Weid is on target to be a good player for us.

Pies will not lose De Goey IMO. Pies will lose players to keep him and he will forego some cash, but IMO will not leave. He will sign a 2 year deal at less cash, say $800k per year, or a longer term one, if he is happy to forego the future offers that may come. Pies will try and pension Wells off and other players can be moved on as well. Hearing rumours about Moore going as well, but I think he will only go if they get another key forward. Hello Tom, even though the Tigers appear to be the leaders in his chase.
  16. Looks like Greg has made better use of bananas than Elvis did, with his fried banana sandwiches.
  17. Now we are talking, pardon the pun.
  18. Wow we butchered the ball on friday. Wonder if the bananas were off.
  19. Good boy.
  20. Done the way you show it, a rejig of the pathway over a short distance and the removal and replanting of some trees to line that rejigged pathway, would not see any interference to the park land at all. Surely it is better to have some community use of the area as an oval, than a car park where the ground can be damaged. You can still use the oval when the MFC is not training, yet chopped up ground from cars in winter is far harder to walk across. Plant a few more trees here and there and you have improved the park area. The new building would help deaden the train noise and improve the look of the tracks area, which is an eyesore. I would think the nearby residents would have an improved lifestyle and raised property values. A win/win. Now lets hear from the Greenies.

I wonder if they served biscuits or toast.

That sort of long term, big money contract, will probably succeed. I think he will stay an Eagle. He has driven his price and deal up and that was probably the aim of the exercise.
  24. I'm off to the new training oval.
