Farewell Judd McVee
Wow, 53 pages and not done yet, on whether a player, not a star, signs a new contract with us.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Let me start this post by saying Tracc helped win us a flag and has been a Dee for about 11 years. We should all appreciate that and I for one do and will always regard him as a great Dee. Now if he wants to leave and that would make him happy and we can be fairly compensated, then I have no problem with that. Do I think he is as good as before the injury, no I don't. Is he still a very good player, yes he is. Players move clubs. He will be 30 soon. If that is his desire and we can accommodate it, then so be it and no hard feelings. Given the GC lifestyle and their picks and list, they would seem the best to do a deal with, but we will see what happens.

They need him more than us and yet willing to let him go. Two 33 year olds in our forward line is not good for forward pressure.

Media Madness
I wonder how the media would have slammed Goody, if it was him dining two rival club Captains. Clearly the landscape has changed in that space, it is now anything goes. I am finding Sam McLure nearly unwatchable, with his yelling and getting every prediction wrong.

You obviously didn’t see the pre season game this year where he got injured in the last minute. He was BOG by a mile. He has also played some good footy for us last year. That’s a pretty good start to see a boy with a good future. I guarantee the FD sees him as a regular best 23 player.

33 before the season starts and 192 cms is not what we need imo. I would want younger and bigger as a key forward. I would rather go with Kentfield if we can’t get younger and bigger.

Sorry, my error then.

I don’t see how we are that far off, when we win 7, lose another 9 by under two goals and run one of the flag favourites to 1 point and 6 points in two games.

He is certainly not unprepared, on the way I have heard him answer questions, in the interviews I have heard so far. He actually sounds very prepared and there is not an er, um, ah in any answer, nor does he give the old chestnut of many interviewees, “ I will get back to you on that“

Once again we are attacking a current player and denigrating him because he might leave. This is not specifically aimed at you, but rather posters generally. It’s ok to post you don’t think someone will make it, but do we really need to ridicule our players?

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
It was a lot longer than that we raised it with him, as reported. He has had months. This is the excuse to save face and then accept Tassie.

There is some talk about Suns chasing Curnow. If that happens we can forget Flanders.

Isn’t it funny when they want another club’s player, the language is so different from when they want to keep their own player?

I think the real issue is when you trade up and give away a lot to get a certain player, you need to actually get that player and then he has to be worthy of what you gave up. As recent examples, Lindsay looks the goods, while Kolt is looking a little shaky. To be a successful club we need to nail most decisions and recruiting is an extremely important area for every club. I do accept that not every selected player will have a long AFL career but the overall aim has to be improving the list every year.

This mystery should be put to bed pretty soon.

Media Madness
Not every employee is good at their job. I think this year alone I have heard him get about 10 things wrong. Then the pearler, he said Mason Cox was in the best 3 ruckmen in the AFL. That is about the most stupid comment of any media person I have heard this year.

Articulate and clearly across the topics raised. Impressive so far.

Ryan will be about $700K-$800k, that is significant. Wilkie on $800k has been offered more elsewhere and has asked Saints to match. King on $1.2m. Sinclair has to be $800k. I am told Steele on about $1m. Owens $800k. Wood $600k-700k. There are plenty of others on decent money. They will have to offload players or the rest will be on $50k.
