Saad was traded for Bombers 2018 2nd round pick in Oct 2017. That pick would have been about 26 and then pushed back so probably ending up about 30-32.
  2. Which BB won't help. Interesting a side like Carlton which is probably a quicker side than us, said they needed more speed and together with the Saints, have brought in a number of quicker players over the last 2 years.
  3. Might only take a phone call with a new offer and expression of admiration for him and a reborn future at his club.
  4. Hope he doesn’t try and turn BB around.
  5. Not a rumour but a feeling, that we must have more targets than just BB. With teams that have improved like Saints and Blues grabbing everyone in sight, it would be interesting if we have only targeted one player. If we get only BB and he doesn’t perform, it won’t be a great trade period for us. If he does, then it could be a very good one. I am still hopeful of Phillips, the Pies’ one, to help fix a wing and also another pick upgrade.

Back then without NGA’s, about 25-30. Didn’t Bombers pay about that?

Was having a chuckle to myself, as guys on Fox Footy were gushing over Saad and his trade for pick 8 today, as I remembered pushing him hard on DL, when he was rumoured to be unhappy at Suns and plenty on here knocked him completely.
  8. That won’t happen. BB will be with us next year. I would be confident JH has plans for certain picks and will get his deals done, at least those with us getting something or someone. That might not be the case, where we are trading players out.

My gut feel is that IF we are after Phillips and Pies do deals on Treloar, Stephenson and maybe Cox, they will be in a position to keep Phillips, or play hardball for a trade. SO. if we want him, we might have to do a deal now, or pass, unless of course they want Tom.

Didn't Tom tour their facilities? They could take both Macs to add key depth at both ends of the ground. Cameron, Williams, Langdon, Hately, Corr and Caldwell leaving plus delisted players and maybe Mummy retiring, frees up a hell of a lot of cap room.

Wonder if that sparks interest in Tom.

I would prefer a backup ruckman rookied.

I see our priorities as another winger, quick half back and small forward. Depending on whether we move on a few more players on medium salary, or Tom on larger salary or both, will determine who we bring in. Also, whether we think Bedford can cover the extra small forward role and Hunt/Baker can cover the other two roles. I would be happy to rookie a spare ruckman as insurance.
  14. Still wondering about that left wing.
  15. Yep! Not the swap, the injury. Curnow suffered a fractured kneecap while completing his rehabilitation on the same knee that has haunted him for more than two seasons. He will undergo surgery on Wednesday. While the club was unable to put a timeframe on his return on Tuesday night, they suggested last year an injury of a similar nature would take at least 3-4 months to recover.
  16. Why am I not shocked? Some clubs are getting top 10 players from NGA and we get donuts. Well we got Bedford. Can't think of anyone else. Absolutely screwed again by the AFL taking away our NT zone and can't recall us doing anything about it.
  17. Hope so.
  18. The reality is that you have to keep moving on the NQR players in your quest for a better team. That is why the scattergun approach doesn’t work and cherry picking and drafting well is the path to success. Getting a BB and another best 22 player this year is a mile better than getting 5 x 25-35 ranked players.
  19. Thanks I thought the memory was still ok.
  20. With Preuss and Hannan gone, a few players delisted and maybe VDB, ANB and Oscar gone, even without Tom leaving and at this stage only BB in, we should have created some cap space. If that is where it lands, I believe we will bring in another player and if Tom goes, more than one.
  21. Was it Garry Lyon in a semi against Dogs or did Jakovich do it?
  22. Done, just got message from Club.
  23. May be some evidence very soon.
