  1. Another reason keeping 24 in the Tracc deal could have been important.
  2. I just read the article in the Sun on Amber Whalan, a mother of three and a fanatical Dees fan, who passed away at 38 from Cancer, after a brave fight. I was crying reading the article, looking at the photos of her and her kids and still am. Life is still there to live outside footy and for some, it is just so unfair and sad. She loved her family and friends and the Dees and it is nice to know our team gave her so much joy, while she was fighting a terrible health battle. Do yourselves a favour and read the article and reflect as I have done, that while we are all fans of our team, there is a lot more going on in life and in the end it is a sport to enjoy but not life. So maybe we can be a bit better to each other when we disagree and in the way we treat our players and ex players. RIP Amber and sincerest condolences to your family and friends.
  3. Wouldn’t think so.
  4. Our list spots should be used on young talent, we have brought in 3 experienced players already.
  5. I understand. Now that you have joined an AFL foundation club, with a long celebrated history and will be able to play at the world famous home of football, the MCG, for about 15 games each season, in front of good crowds and huge ones when playing other foundation clubs, I can understand why you will be able to take your game to a new level, while you weren’t able to do that at your former club.
  6. Ghosty can not be locked out of training permanently, maybe occasionally. It would be a disaster if true.
  7. Wasted energy to worry about him now. I am not booing any player who left us currently and have only booed one ex player and I don’t even say his name, but his initials are T$ and he was our number 1 draft pick years ago. He got money, but little success and is now a forgotten player. I wish the same basically for those that leave us in similar circumstances, little footy success at their new clubs. Players like ANB who leave for true family reasons are exempt from my wish. Now back to our players and a successful football future with the Dees.
  8. Why would you boo Judd, who went back home for a heap more money and a much longer contract? Not happy, but I can accept that.
  9. Footy can be tough. Zak Jones played some good footy this year, including against us and has been delisted.
  10. Yes he should have communicated, no he shouldn’t. I think that covers everything.
  11. Come on Picket, Clarry was my favourite player too, but I am not going anywhere and neither should you. Neither of us know how far off the rails Clarry fell, but we can be sure that he would never have been traded, unless it was absolutely necessary. Why take a useless pick and pay some salary unless we had to? This trade had to be done and now we move on:
  12. I would expect us to be at Caulfield within 2 years of announcing the go ahead.
  13. Redleg posted a topic in Melbourne Demons
We owe the Pies, as many beltings as there are games against them. Imo they cost us the 2023 flag with a thug act. They ended the career of Gus. They hurt Tracc, which led to a fracture in his relationship with us, ultimately leading to him leaving. They therefore cost us another Champion of the club. Yes we owe the Pies and I hope we are responsible enough to repay our debt.
  14. JUH, an annoyed Walter and an unhappy BH will help.
  15. He is 29, same as Tracc. Saints are paying some of first 2 years salary. Will be 31 before 3rd season starts, hardly ancient. Hard to get guys to change clubs for a 2 year deal.
  16. Yes. Bet Saints contributing salary too.
  17. Great answer. Will definitely soften the pain a little with contested ball and losing Clarry and Tracc. Will be a major uplift on their culture contribution to and will be a good mentor as well. Ted Lasso and I are happy with this as fans 1 and 2 of the deal and in that order.
  18. Two picks in first round of a stronger draft in 2026 is very good to have. 7-8 this year can give us 2 good kids or one hopefully better kid, if we upgrade for this year. We are adding talent before Tassie kills the 2027 draft.
  19. Same age and size as Tracc.
  20. He has 2 years with Saints at big money. If Saints pay a bit and we give a 3rd year on a performance trigger, you would think he would leave a club that doesn’t want him and go to a club that does want him. We will know soon. Hope we get him.
  21. Very negative Layzie.
  22. Those picks in this draft won’t be used by us probably and are not as good as F1st in 2026 a better draft where we can get another couple of talented youngsters or have ammunition for a trade.
  23. Had a chat with Jack Fitzpatrick on a plane recently. Nice guy.
  24. JUH at Suns and unhappy BH will help.
  25. Well to answer your reasons CJ, 7, 8, F1st can provide pace and talent. Saints will pay some of salary as we wouldn’t pay that much for him. All fits with King coaching.
