  1. It did.
  2. So who is responsible for basic skill errors like our inability to pass, handball, mark, tackle and kick for goal? We are now terrible at all of the above. We are an error riddled team, apparently devoid of any confidence in the game plan, if they even know what it is and each other. There has to be something wrong somewhere.

Interesting they take Knobel when then have Witts, Moyle and Read.
  4. You mean Suns not match fit like Tom Green who with 35 possies was the leader in our game against the Giants. Hope you are right though, this is now a seriously important game for us to get our season going, or possibly watch it fall away early, with the Cats at Cotton On Park next friday.

Not only do we not have a Nibbler or Gus type, we also don’t have a Jordon or Bedford type, who can lock down a mid/forward who is hurting us.

    As well as getting Kalani.

Ran 4th tried hard and retired. With Witts, Moyle, Knobel and Read at the Suns, Kalani’s choice should be pretty easy. We will need to draft another ruckman in the next year or two, or trade one in.

    What has happened to Roy?

    Well that was very enjoyable.

Did Caro or Dwayne mention it?
  11. Howes came to us as a mid/ forward and has been pushed to the hbf. He has played some good games there and some not so good, much like other players in our side. I would move Rivers back to hbf and try Blake mid or forward.

Speaking of smoothies, the banana smoothie still remains the best IMO. The green smoothie can be wretch inducing, the berry smoothie can fill the mouth with seeds and the Acai smoothie can be very rich and sickly sweet.

Well this thread suddenly took a turn.

Being the author of this thread I thought I would be the first to post under the new upgraded DL. Go Dees against Suns tomorrow.

Vongole having probably his last start on friday at Cranbourne in race 7 at 9.15 PM. Still trying hard to win at 9 years old. Won't mention the Dees atm, as a few of them are looking like they are retiring too, the way they are playing.

The point of the thread was the prioritising of stories, not us being picked on. Yes we have had a lot of issues lately, but most of our own making and deservedly so. When your two best players are possibly leaving, that is big news for example.

You have missed my point. My post is about the media concentrating on a minor matter, as though it was a murder, rather than other more serious or interesting matters, that are available to be spoken about. People need to stop reading into posts what they think is being said, instead of what is actually being said. It was not a "woe is me" post, it was a comment on the media, turning a small matter into WW3, hence the title "Media Madness".

I disagree. Yes they do. An incident may be mentioned once and then never heard again. How many times was the Stengle incident mentioned? How many times was the Cat’s players sexual assault issue mentioned? How many times was the Luke Ryan incident mentioned? There are driving accidents with parked cars that get one mention and never spoken of again. There are numerous examples and I am not talking about names being suppressed possibly by Court orders, incidents can certainly be mentioned. If you don’t think some clubs have an ability to limit bad media exposure, we can agree to disagree.

I didn't say "the media is out to get us ", nor do I think it. I won't say that your post is a classic example of a DL misrepresentation of another's post, but rather that it was an incorrect conclusion. What I said was that a fairly minor story was the main media event, while far more serious stories are often ignored. Bigger clubs also have a way of avoiding bad publicity too. I then referred to a media that doesn't want to get offside with their golden goose.

Say it was a clumsy spoiling attempt and there is precedent in the Maynard Tribunal hearing. Call it a footy act.

Watching the game again, you can see the last kick into the F50, often ignores free players and is bombed to about 20-30 meters out, to a pack. All of our star mids, especially Viney, do this often and that is why we see 19 inside F50 entries in a quarter, for a one goal return. I am pretty sure the Coach is not saying to play this way and in fact he said just that. We have lost finals and multiple games, by ignoring free players and bombing it in to a pack. It is the players panicking and getting their kick away as their main goal, rather than delivering it to someone. Viney’s lack of pace obviously contributes to his issue and possibly to most of the others. We also are not a great disposal side and several of our better skilled players have been missing. That hasn’t helped the last couple of games.

Congratulations to our footy media, who think a Coach standing up for a player and suggesting all players have background stories or issues in their lives, is a bigger story than players involved in sexual assault, drug use, drugged /drunk unconscious emergency visits by ambulance to hospital, drunk driving, relationship cheating, organised theft on a large scale, salary cap rorting, inconsistent MRO findings, etc, etc, etc. We all know several of the stories going round the traps, but the footy media spends unbelievable time on a pretty minor story. OF COURSE most of the more serious stories that are ignored by the Footy media, generally involve the bigger and heavily protected AFL clubs. It reminds me of the old saying, “ don’t bite the hand that feeds you “.
  24. Agree. I think he was trying to stand up for his Captain, who always gives his all, but had a bad day. It was probably an off the cuff remark and he wasn't specific, just saying Max deserved a bit of slack. It's not a hanging offence.
  25. Would have thought " How Can I Be Sure" is more apt.
