I don’t want to pay a fortune, when we have developing players who will need more and there are good key forwards to draft. With our good picks, we could get one or two of them. I also don’t like the “all the eggs in one basket” situation either. If he does a knee again, it could be all over and we are stuck with a long, huge contract. Pennant St Dee has already mentioned a top young key forward in the next draft and I would rather use a high pick to draft and develop one. Alternatively we can trade for another depth forward like Schache, at low cost for a few years, if needed.

TBH if it’s correct that we are after him and that he is going to get a fortune, I would keep well away. We have JVR and Jefferson and possibly Petty if needed and when Max is back, a ruck going forward. Also we have good draft picks and I would rather another good kid to complement the two we have.
