  1. haha yeah I heard that on the radio last night. I don't think it was a Fremantle problem though... I don't think any team could have anticipated the kind of game that Melbourne brought into the second half. I think our boys just decided to do something about our [censored] season/form that they had the fans up to half time yesterday and that just caught freo by surprise.
  2. this is a foolish topic... we are reading far too much into this whole MFC personnel business, its clearly a LACK OF CONFIDENCE that is plaguing the players form. I mean seriously, how much has our list changed since 2006 when we were the best Victorian side going around and when the critics were raving about us??? 2007 - Pickett, Brown, Bizzell, Ward, Godfrey and Johnston last year - none of whom were core players really (with the exception of Trav) 2006 - Motlop and, well, can't really think of anyone else (unless I am missing someone important) I don't recall any of the journos stating in 2006 that our list would be shot by 2008 - clearly last year, and the changing of coach has screwed with the players' minds. And when have we really won a proper game (not including Cartank last round 2007) anyway??? Round 19 against the Dogs at the Dome... that's a long time to go without winning and would damage any players confidence. Sure, all our players are two years older, but physically, who is worse off since 2006? Neitz, Holland and Yze perhaps? - none of them were integral in 2006. So stop bringing up rubbish ideas like trading Davey because clearly people are forgetting a bit too soon what our current list is capable of when given the right direction and when CONFIDENCE and TEAM MORALE is present.
  3. yeah we're def. gonna cop it from the media
  4. true... true.. dazzledavey? what's your take?
  5. just a question, how do you pronounce "Naitanui"? ... anyone?
  6. Yeah, I would expect Melbourne to win comfortably... I guess I was going with the whole idea of a a team of champions vs a champion team (lol not that melbourne are a team of champions but you know what i mean) a champion team is always gonna win and the way melbourne are functioning as a team it makes you wonder... but yeah you'd be looking fo a rope to put around your neck if melbourne couldn't beat a vfl side
  7. it'd be an interesting game haha... thoughts anyone?
  8. As bad as this sounds, Neitz's injury could be the best thing that's happened to our forward line this season, hopefully whoever replaces him in while he's injured (Neitz) will shine just like Green against the Blues on Sunday.
  9. Na, the Bulldogs game was our home game. But it is true what you say, we've only had one home game this year, I haven't actually read the article properly (just skimmed over it this morn. on the way to uni) but perhaps she was referring to our home games last year...?
  10. 10,000 from last year not signed up yet.... very disappointing
  11. that'd still be a good crowd I guess who here is actually going?
  12. Scott Thompson - Yep, its painful hearing him every week with a 32 disposal game to his name with the crows... although maybe he flourished at Adelaide with their list... who's to say he would've flourished at Melbourne... he was looking good in touch when he left us. Travis Johnston - I'd still have him in the red and blue even if he isn't the Brownlow Medallist everyone expected him to be Ward - he was alright, added confidence to our defense when he would run and carry it out, but was also very frustrating at times too... should he have been delisted? probably not, I would've got rid of someone else. I'd take the 2000 squad anyday though... I loved Rigs, Leoncelli (however you spell it) and Woewodin (can't remember the spelling for that either!) and with Green in the forward line </font>(he counts as a player we miss cos they'll never throw him in the forward line again permanently lol)
  13. Just wanted to know what people's thoughts were on DB expecting (or hoping really) 70,000 people at the game this Sunday... I'll be going and I know quite a few people who are too but I can't imagine a crowd that big (it'd be awesome if it was cos its our home game = some $ to the club). Hope to see you guys there (not that I know what you guys look like... maybe if you wear red and blue so I'll know to look out for you lol)
  14. LOL na that's good 'pep' talk I like it, let's get fired up for a change! Optimistic yes, but its all good fun!
  15. Yeah na its ok, I was talking about Daniher... haha
  16. I thought he was alright, sure, we didn't get a premiership out of him but we were on the up before last year when injuries killed us and him essentially. But I guess the change will be good in the long term for MFC...
  17. Yeah I went down to Junction Oval yesterday to watch training (Wednesday) he was fairly restricted, just doing heaps of handball drills with Wells (Sean Wellman) but no running. Hopefully he'll make a speedy recovery I feel really sorry for PJ, he looked so disappointed not being able to train - there was hardly anything he could do, what with his hand being bandaged and all...
  18. yep, its definitely 4 weeks, just heard on the radio (magic 1278 news to be exact lol) what a shame...
  19. sorry if I'm behind the eight ball here a bit... but where did we get the name Juice for Newton?
