  1. OK got it now. See you later.
  2. Is this a joke?
  3. If Jackson were to play, who would he come in for? A tall forward, a midfielder? A medium forward?
  4. They get more out of their players with better infrastructure, higher professionalism and.... a much better coach.
  5. Kevin Dyson
  6. I should have said I wouldnt have chosen Fowler and Biff because my memories of them werent that clear. My memories of Barassi arent that clear either. He was my hero but i can only remember him speaking to us before a Grand Final in 1967. Being short he told me to punch my opponents arms in a marking contest. :) I have stronger memories in the 60's of Des Tuddenham whom, watching as a pie boy at the MCG in 1969 and 1970 won games off his own boot. He seemed under rated, as good as Leigh Mathews to me. Im surprised I havent copped cr@p over Warren Dean but he had poise and grace and Alan Johnson was a brilliant kick (and IMV)who only moved to the back pocket because he was sniped constantly on the ball and in the forward pocket.
  7. Id have Warren Dean on a Forward Flank and I loved Danny Hughes! Sean wasnt a full back he was CHB. I wouldnt choose Biff or Fowler.
  8. I get the feeling we could go through an iceage for a millennium, then on return see Van den burg - progressing well.
  9. I would be excited by the possible inclusions of any of Hannan, AVB and Bennell.
  10. I was surprised Trengove was appointed joint captain as he was slow by then unfortunately. I remember posting that he might not even be best 22, he'd dropped his speed so much.
  11. There were no Luke Molan moments in this draft. IIRC all our own pundits and the press thought we picked correctly. We used the same strategy in picking Trengove as we did with Clarry a couple of years later.i.e. A late bolter. Rear view mirror stuff.
  12. Who had most good years? Id say the Wizard. The ooze was great but had lots of quiet games. The Wiz was just something else.
  13. May the 4th for 1st game says Goody! https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2020-live-blog-coronavirus-news-afl-return-date-simon-goodwin-comments-back-at-training-may-4/news-story/257da9671006cfe7b6e729ab21739658?fbclid=IwAR2jHTFMipOCtmwIG5QczThuFa9DHjcM7s09IWHNFZshOUVslgm_tPvtj3Q
  14. Alan Johnson was my favourite player.
  15. Jeff Farmer is way out in front. Then Davey and Matty Whelan. Then others all have claims. But Jeffy was on top.
  16. I really liked Jay Viney. Not so good as Todd his brother and made quite a few mistakes in his 1st year. But fast and courageous. Well I thought so. i thought he would have a breakout season with us. But then I was a fan of Tom Flower...
  17. I wonder if posters even know when they are on ignore. This is a good thread to use just to add others.
  18. i remember someone (G.Lyon?) on the hawthorn game commentary saying we were the 2nd oldest and i thought, wrong. Oldest.
  19. I need to watch Spargo with a less subjective eye. I find it difficult to understand why he is in front of Lockhart. But Im really glad we bat so deep this year.
  20. Yes if your kicking from 55 and someone is marking it at 40 meters out from goal.
  21. happy for the mosquito fleet but really was hoping we would go to Jackson.
  22. I think the VFL should consider a shortened season starting in September and finishing in December/January. There are plenty who are just football Tradjics (dont follow other sports) who would definitely support this. Especially those who have nothing going on in September. It would also allow for a late draft to occur. It would also allow possibly a team from both Darwin and Tassie.
  23. If Tom Mac comes good all the other puzzles fit together.
  24. The vision I saw of Harley leading and sprinting was a huge step-up from slow laps. There may just have been some over ambitious running after being held back for so long. I hope thats all it is.
