  1. Don't know about that. Treloar, Aish and Howe wasn't too bad last trade period.
  2. What's your opinion about that? I reckon it is major overs. $700k for 5 years for a 175cm midfielder who is a really good player but I wouldn't put him in the top echelon of midfielders which is what that pay packet represents. I wouldn't think we'd pay that for him even if he wanted to come to us. Where does that leave the rest of your list. Is he better than what Viney, Brayshaw, Oliver, Petracca are going to be. You couldn't pay all of them that sort of money.
  3. He did play. He played for Casey and got another concussion.
  4. Agree with all who say it seems premature. But the point for me is what it says about Pedersen. Is that the sound of a stamp hitting papers I hear.
  5. Brenton Sanderson, who coached the AIS AFL squad which he was a part of last year, said at the draft that he thought he could end up being the best player from last year's draft. I'd rely on him a bit more than whoever wrote that draft profile. If you've seen him live (and I have) his kicking techniques is superb. One of the best I've seen. He's kicked 20G 4B so far at Casey. He aint no Daniher.
  6. Very precise assessment. You've obviously studied him playing pretty closely. Out of interest how many times have you seen him play.
  7. I'd be more than happy to continue on to a proven fit O'Meara or Crouch this trade period. I would be surprised if there is anyone of that caliber in 2017.
  8. Maybe, maybe not. He's put it out there and said he thinks he's staying. Take it as you will. Doesn't mean he knows for a fact he isn't leaving. Say he decides to leave and go to Sydney. Who are about to be paying Buddy $1.5mill a season and Tippett around $800,000 a season. And supposedly TMac $700,000. Doesn't leave a real lot for the rest of the squad. TMac can't get there without a suitable trade. Their best pick will be around 16-18. That won't do it. Maybe if Mitchell goes to Carlton as rumoured and we get their first pick via Swans. Although they are saying they aren't going to spend a lot of money on one player. So seems unlikely. Plus we don't want to go back to the draft to start all over again. Maybe that pick then goes to Dons for Hurley. And our second rounder for Hibberd and next year's first rounder and a player to GC for O'Meara (who proves he is fit, in a medical carried out by the Richmond medico's who we hire as a one off.) Or alternatively next year's first rounder or less to Crows for Crouch. Now that would be a good trade period. Enjoy Sydney TMac, where I'll be happy to watch you live at the Swans while Hurley gives us magnificent solid, error free footy in our backline.
  9. I know Tom Harley well. I'd be beyond shocked to find out he's running around telling people information like this that ends up on websites like this. I'd take all of that with a big grain of salt. Not offering an opinion on whether he's staying or going but this source sounds highly unlikely. Roosy almost never goes out on a limb on anything but he came out emphatically saying he's staying. Good enough for me until I hear it confirmed from the Club one way or the other.
  10. Fully fit he's the best of his generation of very good players. If fit Id take him in a heartbeat over Prestia. On another level and probably cost around the same. Hopefully there's a way for the Medico's to know for sure if he can recover or not. Otherwise you wouldn't touch him.
  11. Rest assured Roosy knows exactly what is required to develop an Assistant to a Head Coach. He knows the pitfalls and will have addressed them. If he says Goody is going to be a great coach I'm very confident he will be. We've already seen what he's done with the game plan. That wouldn't have happened under Roosy. He's the one that Jennings came in for. He's the only coach Jennings talks about. We're in good hands with an Assistant coach who's had as good a preparation as any has ever had.
  12. The Russian Athletes say hello. Especially the one's that trained overseas a long way from any domestic regime. Not hearing Thompson say how unfair the blanket ban by the IAAF on all Russian Athletes is.
  13. Could not disagree with a point more than this one. Are you kidding. You think it would be better to have Eddie Everywhere running the competition along with a bunch of other people who's prime job is to further the interests of their own Club not the overall competitions. Eddie Everywhere has been able to do massive damage to the Northern Clubs already. He's given the best draw in the Comp but does everything he can to stop equalisation. Give me a break. The Comp wouldn't exist now if it was run by Club Presidents. I'm not saying I'm happy with a lot of what the Commission's been doing lately but it's still a hell of a lot better than the alternative. Eg anything and everything to do with their past and ongoing handling of the Essendrug saga.
  14. I heard at the time it was because he knocked Robbie out at training. Papers stamped from that point on. He confirmed that he did that. He also said that he'd made it clear he was going to punch Healey in the face for beating him in the goal kicking in his last game and only Croswell stepping in stopped him from doing it. He also said words to the effect that he didn't care a stuff that none of his team mates liked him because everyone played for themselves. Wouldn't have thought that would be quite in the Barassi play book. Probably why he said Barassi couldn't have coached a pig to be dirty. Will never forget the first time I saw him play for the MFC. Looked just like a cartoon character out of Popeye. It was the chin. Hasn't changed much. Loved the footage of that famous Hawks game and his antics with Kelvin Moore who was playing on him. You could see he just didn't know what to do with this lunatic literally chesting him nose to nose. Clearly didn't believe most of what he was saying. Was just blurting crap out for publicitys sake. Couldn't even finish his own thoughts or sentences.
  15. Rubbish. A couple of weeks ago he was tracking around the same as Hogan at Casey. He was running second back then in the goal kicking for the entire Comp. He's a special talent. Knows how to attack packs and take marks at the highest point. Also has a beautiful kicking style. Once he's put on enough weight he will be a star.
  16. The knock on him at the Swans was that he plays like a KPF but is too short and as a half forward didn't have the tank to be able to run deep into the backline and back as you do nowadays. He said this year it pretty much took until the end of last season for the penny to drop how hard he had to work on building his tank. I have a feeling he must have been given the hard word after his first year at the Saints that if he didnt work harder on improving his tank his career was about to be over. He did that over the summer and is now the player he could have been at the Swans if he had worked hard enough in the beginning.
  17. Interestingly his DE on the weekend was 91%. The highest in the team. The second highest at 90% was his brother. Would be interesting to know what Frawley got paid to leave and go to Hawks. You can be sure it isn't $700k. Frawley's faster and can play on the gorillas that T Mac can't play on. Sydney aren't stupid enough to pay overs like that for him either. If they do good luck.
  18. Got it from a reliable source. None of this is true. He's just said it so he can fit under Melbourne's salary cap and to turn all other suitors off. Source? Me. Dreaming out loud.
  19. Craig Jennings spoke at the NSW Demons pre game function before the Swans game and stated that the Diamond Defence was his idea. Also said that it had already moved on a bit since the media identified it.
  20. Love this place. Opinions flying around all over the place with absolutely no substance to them. I have watched the games he has played for the Swans. Spencer is more mobile, a better ruckman and can play forward. He is none of these things. Can't get a game at the Swans when they were desperate for his type once Tippett went down. No way. No story here. Move on. Would be at best a depth player if you want to flick Max King but definitely behind Spencer.
  21. O'Meara if his knee holds up over the last 6 games. He is the pick of that bunch by a mile. Would take him over Prestia in a heartbeat. But can't imagine his asking price would be any less than Prestia's. Would have thought he'd cost more to get the job done and cost more to pay. Crouch would be great. How would we get Steele. He's from NSW why would he leave.
  22. Maybe we trade next year's first round pick to get a whole lot of picks this year that are worth more so that GC can use them this year. Wagner is from the Sunshine Coast and we potentially have Hibberd and a bunch of other players who can play off half back line. In the long term I have a feeling ANB will offer as much if not more but in the midfield. If Dons don't take our second rounder he should just go to the Tribunal and we get him for nothing.
  23. Totally Agree. Plus they have been given the number 1 pick as compensation for Drug cheating. Go figure. They are not a bottom team, they are at worst a mid ladder team. They should be getting their first round pick at best in the middle of the round or realistically at the end of the first round. Another Fitzpatrick/O'Loughlin/Essendon shocker.
  24. Kelvin Templeton was also regarded as a superstar when we got him. Another big name coming to Dees cruelled by injuries. It was such a coup getting Carmen. That was another sad failure. He would have to come close to the most wasted talent of all time. Any discussion along those lines has to include Diamond Jim. Kicked the biggest point I've ever seen from the defensive side of the centre circle at the Western Oval.
