  1. Seeing the replay, would be amazed if he is playing next week. I'd hope he is right for rnd 1.
  2. He will be a player Clarrie, personally I think he would be given more time in the magoos. We shouldn't need a newly drafted player in the first game of the season. Let him get the fitness up and keep assessing each week.
  3. Jones has been very rusty. Overall not many winners for us at this point, Dogs back out to 12 points in front. Another thing today, our inability to punch from behind has been notable. Way to many easy marks for Dogs.
  4. VDB rolls ankle coming down from a 3rd man up ruck contest.
  5. VDB hobbled off, he was shown not happy on the bench taking his boot off. F out skills and smarts are appalling. Number of times we have worked hard for a free but then turned the ball over straight away. Harmes just kicks it straight to a dog in the centre square who nails a 9 pointer.
  6. Garls... Not the sharpest.
  7. Not one, time to hang it up Sandy.
  8. Loved watching Couchy, hated Budda, but always enjoyed couched burst from a pack and find a Ablett or Brownless up forward. RIP Paul.
  9. GWS look incredibly fit, fast and lots of tackling pressure. Could be a cracking game if we are up and firing.
  10. From same article... "Amid calls for the WADA code to be more applicable for team sports, and Madigan's criticism of CAS that it does not fall under Australian law, McDevitt said there was a "fallacy out there that it [WADA code] doesn't apply to team sports". He pointed out that of the 85 sports under the ASADA code in Australia, more than 30 "have a team element and 18 of them are pure team sports". McDevitt also raised sports overseas. "Is it good enough for the English Premier League but not good enough for the AFL to have an option of going to the Court of Arbitration for Sport?" he said."
  11. Not sure if this went any further but Choice were up in arms about it last year and the ACCC were looking into it. http://www.smh.com.au/national/ticketek-accused-of-price-gouging-on-afl-finals-fees-20150918-gjq1rm.html http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2014/10/accc-cracks-down-on-drip-pricing-by-ticketmaster-and-ticketek/
  12. True, which I do, I may just have to bring my own food and drinks. heading along to the GWS game with my (he will be) 6 month old for his first taste of it.
  13. Ess home game, dilemma in letting any of my cash go to the cheats.
  14. As DiD mentioned above, I naively asked this a couple of weeks ago thinking it might be a milestone is he was. The feedback was it would be under more pressure when he is using to kick on his "other foot" let alone the planting/twisting/turning/game day movements.
  15. But who "deals" with it? ASADA are the body that upholds the WADA code but the sporting body must apply the apply the penalties. If the sporting body doesn't apply the penalties then what happens?
  16. Francis on SEN had a go at the AFL and AFL people who have been thumbing there nose at the ruling. Basically stop moaning about stop poking your finger in CAS/WADA/ASADA eye and get on with it. Sack up and leave the code or man up on the decision and abide by it. Sheedy another who doesn't get it. Sheedy also took a swipe at WADA. “It’s forced upon them by an organisation obviously that’s out of Europe, who don’t really know a lot about AFL. “Their job is really to get back and sort out Russia for the Olympics.”
  17. Good to see the "boys" back in training yesterday at a high school. Wellman coaching them.
  18. Had a look at Qtr 1, 3 and 4 last night, we are very harsh on our guys early in the praccy match fixtures. Grimes has been mentioned as one who was bad, 2 of his on the fulls were under some pressure and he did a couple of nice things to balance it out. Deep breath and enjoy the games for what they are, putting what has been learned into practice. 'We talkin bout practice man." In saying that what an enjoyable site to see, the MFC players endeavouring to put in sustained pressure for a whole qtr, a while half of a game, and I'll be blowed pressure acts for the full game!!! if we can keep that type of pressure up, keep incrementally improving some of the delivery/reducing the brain frts then we go someway to winning 10 games. Gawn is (no pun) just huge for us, he goes down and it becomes a lot harder to get first use of ball let alone his pressure releasing marks around the ground. I would hate, HATE, to be a defensive player in our fwd 50. The skill level our of guys in there on the weekend was high but the pressure acts through the roof and Port players chit the bed. Again if this can continue season long we will see a large number of turn over goals starting from the fwd line rather than midfield or from defence.
  19. Footy in general, to my mind, feels boring the preseason comp even more so.
  20. Read yesterday the senate enquiry will not go ahead. John Madigan is the fella who said "submarines are the spaceships of the ocean" on Q&A last year wasn't he?
  21. You'd think so but from what we have seen during the Ess saga they may negotiate a drop is player wages...
  22. Skills, ball movement which flows into game plan and seeing the likes of Kent, Dom T, the new boys, Hunt and Harmes hopefully up and about.
  23. ET this was raised in this forum a couple of weeks ago and debunked as the AFL players form TAC days are provided chit tonnes of info relating to what goes in your body is your responsibility. Obviously not enough info for the Dons 34 (and most probably heaps more players who were not caught). Anyone know what happened to the ACC investigation from the blackest day in sport press conference by the by?
  24. They will probably be in a stronger position as a club in the next few years than they were prior to Turd reign. If they win a flag before we do, or the Dogs, Saints... Well the Comp is fd already but you know what I mean.
  25. For a coach of the Doggies Beveridge has a lot of inside knowledge of the banned players movements. He is aware they are all training together next week including Crameri. F me dead this ban is a joke of the highest order. A number have said it already but the AFL community is just thumbing its nose at the sanctions handed down for PED use. We've been found out as a parochial backwater that bleats about everyone else being to blame for our own dark waters. Take ownership of the f up AFL, Dons, players, AFLPA, media lap dogs, Balme, Mr 0/300 Warner, Dons groupies. It happened and they were found to have broken the rules of the code, banned for 2 years.
