  1. Agreed. But who says Kozzie wants to leave? Port Adelaide would like to recruit him but so would every other club. I'll resist the trap of jumping at shadows unless something substantial happens.
  2. I'm astounded that anybody could see AF's post as anything but champagne comedy.
  3. You have to laugh at the way posters tie themselves up in knots about Brodie Grundy. "He's injury prone and fragile". (Facts show that he been remarkably durable with the exception of this year) "Yeah but his last two years were poor" (Facts show he finished top ten in the B & F in both years) "Yeah but those B & F placings mean nothing" (Facts show they are a great indication of performance) Which rabbit hole will the critics go down next, I wonder? And just for the record, I'm 50/50 on the merits of trading for Grundy. I trust our Club to make the best decision.
  4. Posters keep perpetuating this myth about Grundy and it's just not true. 2022 is the only year in his career that he's hasn't played the vast majority of games.

Mad Monday has (I presume) been and gone with no dramas or media reports, unlike the Bulldogs/Cordy shocker. edit: Unless they're holding off until after the VFL Grand Final?
  6. This article in today's 'Age' discusses our habit of fading out late in games as well as the talk about Jackson. It's interesting that the Club denies our players were banged up or that there was a lack of fitness. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/not-so-fast-eagles-unlikely-to-talk-pick-no-2-for-jackson-trade-20220913-p5bhth.html

If we win the flag next year, it'll feel like Christmas again.

I thought that Geelong was in contention for his services, but I don't know what became of that. Too young for them, perhaps.

Oooooh, I've been "champed"! Thanks DZ, you've made my day.

He was sixth in their Best & Fairest last year. You are allowed to do a little research before posting, Dee Zee. "Google it mate' is the expression du jour I believe.
  11. Trading & Drafting Board, anybody?

Now, that's simply not true. These are the number of games Grundy has played since joining Collingwood. 2013 (his first year) - 7, followed by 15, 19, 21, 20, 26, 24, 19 and 20. That's consistency. This year (6 games) is the only year he's missed for any length of time.
  13. It works both ways. We can "poach" players from other clubs too, you know.
  14. No I will will from me, either. What we have here is the old double standard that afflicts supporters of every club in the AFL. Player requests trade to my team: Legend! Great decision! He'll be a champion! Onya son! Coup! Player requests trade from my team: Boo! Traitor! Hope you never win a flag! Ungrateful!
  15. Richard Douglas? Thought he was an Adelaide player.
  16. Tell him about recycling options too, he'll get very excited. Maybe you could bring two lumps of coal and bang them together, Frosty.
  17. Banged! Banged banged banged up.!
  18. Why? What's wrong with our luck? MFCVM.

This is a thread about positives from 2022. The thread title is a bit of a giveaway. It is the only thread of this nature amid a tsunami of recriminations, negativity and misery. Shame then that one poster has seen fit to crap all over it.
  20. Kane Cornes: South Australian clubs would love to have Pickett in their team. Demonland: Kozzie wants out. He's gone! What can we get for him?
  21. What a disaster. We've only doubled their score to half time.

Some have suggested that we look at drafting Jack Bell as a backup ruck for the Demons, but he's only named as an emergency for this game which suggests he may not be rated that highly.

Woey presumably still feeling the effects of the concussion caused by the thuggish Ladhams. I wonder what is up with Laurie? edit: snap DJ
  24. The odds reflect where the money has been bet. The punters think we're good things tonight.
