  1. Almost impossible task here, but North didn’t offer AFL level resistance. I’ll go with: 6. Petracca 5. Chandler 4. Oliver 3. Grundy 2. Brayshaw 1. Langdon Special mentions: Everyone else, except Harmes, who played a role, but didn’t spend much time on ground.
  2. Good on you Nibbler. Genuine ‘heart & soul’ footballer, and they are the most important kind!
  3. Yes. Still brings a tear to my eye.
  4. Enjoyable and insightful as usual guys. Love your work!
  5. Simple question, but imo, not such a simple answer: Going forward (this year and longer term) is Harry Petty more important to our team as a KPF or KPD? I understand that the answer to this question may be covered in discussion of other questions above. Keep up the great work guys!
  6. 6. Viney 5. Oliver 4. Gawn * 3. Petracca 2. Lever * 1. Hibberd * Special mention to Nibbler. I couldn’t quite squeeze him into my votes, but I thought he was an important contributor all game ………. and wow, haven’t his field and goal kicking have improved enormously this year? * how important it is to have these three back!
  7. Like many Demonlanders, I have a galloping case of MFCSS, brought about by our insipid performance last Saturday, and not helped by the Casey result yesterday. The remedy is simple! Play the Melbourne way, with our ‘trade mark’ defence, intensity and contest work, and we’ll walk away from tonight’s big stage with our pride and reputation in tact ………. I’m not prepared to even think about the alternative!
  8. I thought this match would be a lay down misere for Casey, given our recent form, and our high number of AFL listed representatives, relative to very few for R’mond. Consequently, I made the (serious) mistake of making an alternate commitment, on the grounds that I would read Demonland when I returned home, and sleep very well tonight. It’s hard for me to comprehend the final result, even after quite a few Cabernets. Very disappointing indeed!
  9. Another fantastic poddy guys. Tuned in yesterday on the 700km haul between Adelaide and Hay, on our way home from the Gather Round. Took 2hrs off the long drive in no time. Love your work! Go Dees!
  10. Sestan’s size and body shape remind me a lot of Allen Jakovich. If he turns out to be half as good at football, it will be another recruiting master stroke by Jason Taylor.
  11. Is 186 under threat?
  12. Good question ElDiab. I don’t think we can blame the wet conditions, the consecutive road trips, or the absence of a few players for the way we played in Saturday’s loss. To my eyes, we were just never ‘switched on’, plain & simple! How can this be?
  13. In a game where no Dees did nearly enough over 4 quarters: 6. Oliver 5. Viney 4. Langdon 3. McVee 2. Petracca 1. Grundy Hunter and Rivers worked hard, and did a few nice things. Move on!
  14. Bowser having shots on goal from the pocket during the warmup, and nailing them. Interesting!
  15. Outstanding work Judd. Hard work and commitment already paying off, and this is just the start! Outstanding rookie selection! Outstanding Club culture to keep him in red & blue! We just keep raising the bar higher!
  16. Our cleaner ball movement and generally ‘on song’ goal kicking, should have them well covered. Add our power mids to the mix, and I can’t see them getting enough ball to trouble us. Oh, and even without Rick Lever and Hibbo, our defence will be too strong in the air and on the ground. That all adds up to a fairly comprehensive 5 or 6 goal win imo, even in the forecast wet conditions.
  17. Yes, it was fantastic. Players so generous with their time! We drove down from Canberra. Making a bit of a holiday of it. Great Ocean Road and visiting some wineries etc.
  18. Summary: Like every ‘Captain’s Run’, the mood was up-beat, and the skills (under no pressure) were precise. I loved the banter, I loved the ‘voice’ when things got a little bit more serious, and I loved the obvious camaraderie between the players. They were having fun, and so was I! My main (humble) take-always were: Kossi is primed. His skills and goal kicking were sublime, and he looked a million bucks (but I hope we don’t have to pay him quite that much!). On two occasions, I saw him and Goody embracing. Read into that, whatever you want. Based on positioning at today’s mini match sim, Petts will play back on the weekend. Chandler was doing some solo set shots towards the end. He nailed most of them from around 40m in a ’tricky’ cross wind. Looked good! He was also very vocal in the drills. Max isn’t too far away. He wasn’t involved in any of the drills, but was running and kicking at what I’d estimate at 75%+, before most of the others took to the field. No knee strapping was a good sign imo. Grundy is growing in fitness. Gee he was quick off the mark in short sharp bursts in the mini match sim. Hard to estimate who might be sub, but Lawrie looked really classy in the ‘easy’ going. FWIW, there’s been a bit of very light drizzle over the last hour where I am (about 5/6 km from Adelaide Oval).
  19. Sorry mate. Couldn’t catch him. I was too involved getting player photos. Our boys were so, so obliging! All of our 5 Demon-mad grand Children will love me forever for this.
  20. All 4 emergencies present.
  21. Three quarter no contact drill. Petts is with defenders.
  22. Now handball run throughs.
  23. Short sharp passes underChoco’s supervision. Very clean and precise. Choco barking instructions and applauding at times.
  24. Eclectic kick to kick, soccer and other warm up drills. Lots of banter. Very relaxed and having fun.
  25. Now kicking at 100%!
