WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BERNIE VINCE
Spin-it-to-Goodwin-it replied to Ted Lasso's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm tipping that the pick 20 that we just gave GWS, will get used by them to trade for Bernie Vince. Seeing it's also looking like we won't get a 20-25 pick for Sylvia. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DOM TYSON

Dom Tyson reminds me of Lenny Hayes the way he weaves through traffic, lowers his eyes and nails it on his left - Classy -
The timing of our trade announcement today would suggest that we are about to get shafted on the Sylvia compensation. A bit of sugar to help the medicine go down.

Tyson looks really good in those club website highlights -
Spoke really well - he'd be a good get for the coaching ranks if you can wrench him away from the Lions Out & Out Champion. Would be great under Roos.

Pretty obvious we rate one of these guys just a high as we do Aish & Kelly - if for no other reason than they have better crash & bash potential.

Another way of looking at is: If we rate a kid that we can get at pick 9 as high as Aish, Kelly etc....Matt Crouch springs to mind If this was to be the case, we would effectively be getting Dom Tyson for pick 20 & an upgrade from 74 to 53. Starting to like it a lot now - Great trade MFC- 542 replies

Wow, suppose it depends on the draft picks we get back

Separate position....Stone is doing midfield & strategy Think Sydney's coach set up of last year with Tudor & Dew.

Well let's relate it to another topic of discussion - Frawley Mcstay is a substantially better kick than Frawley and they're the same height - do you expect Frawley to be a top notch kick? Cos he's not.
-
I think he means he's a good kick relative to: the taller you get...the greater the ball drop to foot...the harder to control, so he is one of the better kicks for a 193cm. I would concur from the vision I saw - has all the makings of a damaging left footer packaed into a KPD.
-
For money....just like Heath Shaw
-
Let's hope it's not a 9 year offer we have to match then
-
Saw this guy play in the U18 Grand Final and he really caught the eye - liked his confidence, skill and aggression in that game Could be a 30-40 range pick and not a bad option to add to our list as a developing KPD....after we have plenty of midfielders lined up. Knightmare's view: Daniel McStay (VIC – KPP) Height: 193cm, Weight: 86kg, DOB: 24/06/1995 Recruited from: Eastern Ranges Style: Jarrad Waite Player comparison: Range: 20-60 Profile: McStay is a tall who still seems to be growing into his body having grown significantly in recent seasons. Still a project player and still not a particularly physical or aggressive player by key position standards and is still developing that strength and ability 1v1 but in saying all this he has some real talent. McStay stands out with his versatility and small man skill set at his height. McStay is an excellent athlete and has some real linebreaking ability for a tall and isn’t afraid to take on the game. He’s also got a real leap on him which allows him to fly for some strong contested marks. He’s also an excellent kick at his height and hits his targets around the field and can convert from his set shot opportunities up forward. It’s unclear which end he settles into but given his strong improvement in recent seasons there is potential for him to continue his strong development at either end.

I thought 191cm
-
Wouldn't be totally against it if they're aware that Chip won't sign next year. We'd need to find a way to land Darcy Gardiner.... or we draft Scharenberg at pick 2, if we know he will grow a cm or two.
-
Just something smells about the way the info is being leaked out, it's too orderly, orchestrated & fake. More I sit with it, more I'm convinced.
-
Anyone else have the suspicion that a deal for pick 2 to the AFL Giants was done some time ago, and what we are seeing now is a ruse?
-
Probably right in an ideal world - My only concern would be the necessity to nab the guy before other clubs do. If Hayes says he wants a year off first then you beauty. If he goes into coaching straight away and he's the right man for the job are you going to let him go somewhere else? I'd have no qualms giving him a lesser role in his first year to ease him into it if he's the right guy.

Hogan get's them half redemption -
I agree with you to an extent...the only worry for me is that Hartlett couldn't string together more than 16 games a season until this year. Also have concerns that Port might have been using an alternative type of Orange Juice this year, which in turn hides players real proneness to injury....But that's just my opinion
