  1. If Sheed does get drafted by us, and that is an"if".....then it would be pretty safe to say that the draft downgrade happened with this is mind. Just the same way that Collingwood went after pick 20 last year with what they had in mind - all perfectly orchestrated
  2. So how do you explain good friends Brodie Grundy, Ben Kennedy & Tim Broomhead all getting drafted to Collingwood last year? Coincidence?
  3. The thought is that if the club rated Sheed & another draftee equally and couldn't split them, then the Hogan link would give Sheed the edge in being selected. This is what I see being part of the "creating the right environment" that PJ has talked about
  4. So was drafting Trengrove & Tapscott a coincidence?
  5. Who do we need to pay to get him to drop to our pick?
  6. Spot on. Suspect this might be high on the agenda....puts the odds a little more in our favour for a Hogan contract extension, in the same vein as Trengrove & Tapscott.
  7. I always thought Jobe Watson was too slow and one paced until he won a Brownlow - we could use someone like him right now. I think Sheed might be one of those in the sneaky quick category, where he looks slow & laconic to the eye, but the reports are that he hardly ever gets caught with the ball.
  8. After watching the highlight clips on the AFL website, it's pretty obvious that Mathew Scharenberg is the most talented footballer in this years draft crop. He's the complete package, and has superstar written all over him. I think he's a pretty sure thing to go to GWS at pick 2, but it would be daylight robbery if he somehow managed to fall to us at pick 9. Second to that Dom Sheed.
  9. funny that, same thing just happened to me when describing Barrett
  10. I get you now. They'll probably re-emerge before too long, especially if they listen to that idiot Barrett. Heard someone say the other day that Mahoney is seen as one of the rising stars of football admin world.
  11. More left foot silk to add to Barry, Viney & Kent The Dees are going to have multiple Brownlow Medal prospects walking through their halls. Starting to get a little of that Hawks left footer thing happening, which isn't surprising given Viney worked at the Hawks and saw it first hand.
  12. I'd imagine Todd Viney would have garnered some good Intel on Vince from his time as an assistant coach with the Crows. Well done Dees - Welcome Bernie
  13. If you fast forward to Round 1, I'd be backing Dom Tyson and a potential pick 9 player like Matt Crouch to give you better production than either Aish or Kelly....If that's you mean by now?
  14. If we get a 21-25 pick for Sylvia....the AFL is Santa Claus and Christmas will come early this year for the Dees.
  15. You sound confident, I hope you're right Wouldn't want pick 9 involved
  16. Perhaps a small misunderstanding here . I know that - it was a suggestion that Viney made about what the club were hoping for band wise in compo for Sylvia. My logic....We could have used p20 on Vince, now GWS has it, they are rumoured to be into him, and we don't have a high enough pick in the right range to satisfy Adelaide anymore (pick only)
  17. Assume you're talking about the Sylvia Compo? If so I agree based on Sylvia's actual value Just basing it off Viney's suggestion of a compo attached to our now departed pick 20, and Adelaide's demands of a pick not less than 25 for Vince and a rumoured agreement between Adelaide & us reported today
