  1. Back to Brad Green for a second. Fine player, had a great season. Sad, but probably true, a trade could be for the best outcome for the premiership aspirations of both parties.
  2. yep, they will probably completely F$%# it up... And having taken pure elegant effective simplicity and turned it into a overly convoluted complex ineffective mess...they can become an AFL midfield coach!
  3. Now that, as the poms would say "is the bollocks"...translation = fan-F&^king-tastic
  4. Full agree with your sentiment big fella...but I'm dead sure that Jimmy & Co hate this "white trash" as much as you do. But its in our best interests to leave the MFC admin unmolested, we need them to be able focus on getting new sponsors. Instead we need to go to the source of this nonsense and be bombarding the inboxes of the AFL marketing bozo's.
  5. We need the email address of the AFL marketing department...they are the source of this evil. Anyone got it handy?
  6. I lean toward Watts myself. Realistically though whoever the recruiters choose, because of the qualities of Rich Watts and Natanui, there are bound to be "WTF we didn't pick him " moments. Whatever happens its going to be exciting to see whose new in the red and blue.
  7. And the happiest club [bar Geelong] award goes to....Essendon! Whose membership officers are manning the phones awaiting calls from St.Kilda fans who will be buying 09 bomber memberships by way of a thank you!
  8. Yesterday was the curator's fault. The grass was cut from wing to wing....the players ball movement followed the cut of the grass. Next year we shall mow from goal line to goal line...and we will be invinceable at the G!
  9. The rule's fine, the edict in regards to the umpires interpretation of the rule sucks! <_<
  10. ? Can you name a non-Essendon or Collingwood player that has!
  11. Just enjoyed a spot of lunch in the sunshine and read "the little paper". Noticed the snippet on page 104 "Lane Lectures AFL". At the annual Bob Rose lecture Lane stated " The crying shame is that the AFL wants a couple of plastic teams in places where there is little support for them, when it could have a team with red blood and a genuine heartbeat, not to mention a soul". Personally I support Tim Lane's stance on a Tassie side, I think they would generate a supporter base that would be there through thick and thin, I doubt you could say the same about a 2nd Sydney side who were in a "rebuilding phase". I like his choice of the word "plastic" - artificial, lacking in substance, texture and warmth, pretty much sums up the fundamental attitude flaw the AFL has when it comes to the rank and file supporters. So what's so plastic about the AFL? In no particular order: 1/ White "away strip" jumpers being imposed on us that hardly anyone wants and many openly are hostile about [me included] is a good start. 2/ Rule changes that are designed to "speed up the game" at the expense of reducing the contest. Example: the arm chop, if its an deliberate arm chop than by all means pay it...if a defender knocks a forward's arm in the process of making a legitimate spoil, then FFS call play on. We go to the game to see a contest, not to hear a whistle! 3/ Rigging the fixturing to make the strong clubs stronger, the weak club's weaker and then making them grovel for handouts...kindergarten bully boy tactics. 4/ Creating Sh1te teams in Sh1te locations - see West Sydney, although I'd recommend you don't. What is the structure of the AFL management anyway, who are these people accountable to? It doesn't seem to be the clubs and it certainly isn't the supporters.
  12. Valid point. Speaking of points...the AFL say the point of the clash jumper being predominantly white is to avoid a clash. This is like saying speed cameras are there to save lives..what a crock of [censored]. The truth is, they are both there to raise additional revenue...and that being the case, why is the AFL forcing clubs into the position of manufacturing goods that hardly anyone wants to buy? let alone see. Clash jumpers...how will you feel when your club makes the grand final, loses the toss and is forced to run out in an insipid "clash" jumper...the very thought of it makes me feel ill.
  13. My fiance's little nephew threw up all over the dinner table last night...and I did actually think to myself at the time "oh well, at least it looks better than our away guernsey".
  14. Voted B....but livid that the Vlad and his fascists have this white away strip fixation...our away strip would be THAT much better if it were on an all red background!
  15. I'm on the lighter side of the contributers myself...have pledged $18.58 per month for 12 months. I know its not huge...but thats my point - when I tell my mates the 1858 resonates, they can see how affordable that option is and how it can be fitted into the monthly budget..5 to 6 less coffee's per month. If by non-violent means of persuasion we can get just 35% of the thus far non-contributing members to do the same the debt is demolished!
  16. That was a fantastic passage of play RI...I'm going to have to go wipe myself down!
  17. I'm not sure I buy into this popular misconception that PJ's not a ruckman
  18. With the rumour mill suggesting its off to "filthland" for Benjamin...it makes me wonder. I mean talking about purgatory...with that guernsey everywhere he looks he's going to be seeing white lines!
  19. Looking on the bright side...at least we've reduced our carbon footpint!
  20. More likely round 1 2010 because Watts and Robinson would be so young but... B: M.Whelan, S.Martin, C.Johnson HB: C.Garland, J.Rivers, R.Petterd C: C.Morton B.McLean M.Robinson HF: A. Maric J. Watts, M.Bate F: Davey.A, B.Miller, A Wonaemirri R: R.Warnock, B Prismall, L.Dunn I/C J.Grimes, N.Jones, M.Warnock, P.Johnson / U.Bolt Emergencies: Sylvia, Wheatley McDonald, Bartram Assuming Green and/or Bruce used as trade bait to help get both Warnock and Prismall on board...assuming that Usain is as good as "in the bag"
  21. Just because I started the concept doesn't mean I own the concept, its work in progress if demonlanders are interested in running with it. However I wouldn't recommend any on-trading of credits as it defeats the purpose of the exercise: raising money for the website running costs with the surplus funds going to MFC debt demolition.
  22. " I concur"...Frank W Abagnale
  23. Might be right Deanox, a most logical conclusion
  24. Sorry, I have failed to express the idea properly. There would only be one financial transaction - when you pay for your bank of virtual beers. There is no financial tranasction when you "buy someone a beer", but your bank of virtual beer credits would reduce by one and eventually run down towards zero, at which time you can elect to buy some more virtual beer credits.
