Lead GWS by 93 points at half time. No mention of tanking.
-
A few critical games are close ATM. With North Ballarat in front of Port and Willy leading Geelong narrowly, Casey could still finish on top if the leads don't change.

I think you might find that Couch is the Melbourne emergency held back for tomorrow.

Beyond Blue ad with the word "depressed" written in red letters in the shape of a V on a blue background.

Love the bloke but going on his form for the NT Thunder in the Northern Conference of the NEAFL where he's played only 4 games, the last in July. I think the task of coming back is beyond him.
-
Yes. I saw that and wondered what were they thinking?

Right at the moment it's injury and not the Russian that's holding him back. Hopefully, he'll return fit and strong for the pre-season.

The full list of players from all clubs participating in the VFL finals is interesting - Finals Eligibility - AFL Players. Melbourne's spate of season-ending injuries to the likes of Jamie Bennell, Michael Evans, Cale Morton and Ricky Petterd (all qualified to play finals) and with Liam Jurrah taking leave of absence and Kelvin Lawrence returning to Perth has made things difficult for Brett Lovett at Casey. By way of contrast, Geelong has 22 players eligible while both North Melbourne aligned clubs North Ballarat have more AFL eligible players than does Casey. Essendon's affiliate Bendigo Gold has 17 Bombers on its list despite their injury list.

Yes, but $500,000 pa for four years doesn't sound right to me.

Welcome AD and you'll be more welcome from me if you also go for the San Francisco 49ers. I received the same picture from the club as part of my sponsorship package and I gave it to my 7 year old grandson who gleefully accepted it and it now sits in his room above his bed. Perhaps one day it will be a collector's item.

Old Dee, you've just mentioned the unmentionable. Please take this as a first warning!

I think the point is that if Sheedy forces us to use pick 3 on Jack Viney then it would be an unlikely option for us to use pick 4 on a 17 year old kid who won't play for a year and a half. However, logic would dictate that if he doesn't nominate Viney for f/s and Melbourne is clear to use both 3 and 4 then one of those picks would be available for a mini draft selection.

He probably had some carry over points from last year's Under 18 carnival when he sling tackled the SA skipper. Obviously too much of a risk for any club to draft him now.

We haven't given up but we need to get some data and information about the site in order to at the very least be able to retain the wealth of material that formed the Demonology site and have it available for people to see and read. Having a message board reinstated is probably the easy part if people want it.

The thread's title has now been changed which unfortunately makes the gags less funny but we got the joke the first time anyway.

Anyone at Foundation Heroes Tonight?
Whispering_Jack replied to Robbie57's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes. I was there and the highlight was the tribute to Jimmy including a wonderful speech from Trish Silvers (Broadbridge). We left before the final total for the night was announced but I would be surprised if we don't make the target for the night. There were a few rumours circulating about player movements both to and from the club but I don't believe it would be appropriate to comment on speculation. Great news about Sam Blease who I was worried might be lured away to GWS - yes that was a rumour that went wrong and it's why we should be loathe to deal in rumours. -

I was in the room at the Foundation Heroes Dinner when Don McLardy made the announcement and it made a lot of people happy.

I'm going to the club's Foundation Hero's function tonight and this talk of Aussie has jolted my memory of last year's event when I was delighted to be the happy highest bidder for Aussie's autographed number 33 jumper. I think it was the following weekend that Aussie made his return after a long period out whilst grieving for his late father Matthew and mentor Maurice Rioli. History says that Aussie damaged an ankle playing for Casey that weekend and was delisted at the end of the year. I sponsor Max Gawn and the day after I sent off the sponsorship payment Maxie did his ACL. Tonight, I'm not buying a thing but next year I'm going to call GWS and offer to sponsor Tom Scully.

Casey Scorpions - finals team
Whispering_Jack replied to Longsufferingnomore's topic in Melbourne Demons
I reckon Nev Jetta might be available based on the criteria. Then again, maybe not. -
Sounds like he must spend a lot of his time retweeting.

This was rumoured earlier in the year but apparently Collingwood insisted that he see out his contract to the end of the year.

The season's not over yet. Next week we play Adelaide who don't play well at the G (we beat them there last time we played in 2011). They're in a bit of a slump after losing to the Lions last night so their confidence won't be at its highest. This is a perfect opportunity for us to jump possibly one or two spots on the ladder especially with Jamar, Martin and Nicholson possibly returning to the team. So let's go for it and fInish the season on a good note.
