  1. That might be a bit of a problem because WCE play the Dockers in their practice match and they've already played them one. Therefore, it might affect the statistical integrity of the ladder. On the other hand, this is the AFL --- Hawthorn 2 - - 272 76 357.9 8 Adelaide 2 - - 218 120 181.7 8 West Coast 1 - - 148 64 231.3 4 Sydney 1 - - 115 75 153.3 4 Richmond 1 1 208 174 119.5 4 Melbourne 1 - - 98 84 116.7 4 Geelong 1 - - 104 102 102.0 4 Western Bulldogs 1 1 - 136 153 88.9 4 Carlton 1 1 - 161 192 83.8 4 Port Adelaide 1 1 - 149 184 81.0 4 Gold Coast 1 1 - 149 195 75.4 4 Fremantle 1 1 - 161 217 74.2 4 Brisbane 1 1 - 129 213 60.6 4 Essendon - 2 - 154 180 85.5 0 St. Kilda - 1 - 56 67 83.6 0 Collingwood - 2 -178 228 78.1 0 North Melbourne - 2 - 146 218 67.0 0 GWS Giants - 1 - 75 115 65.2 0 We moved up a place on the ladder tonight thanks to the demise of the Bulldogs who were very patchy tonight. They do have some good young players but they rely on a fairly longish list of more experienced hands as well. The commentators all rave about the Doggies but I reckon that when their younger brigade matures, there will also be a lot of retirements as well. I don't think they are as good as the pundits are claiming. It's also good to see the Giants in their rightful place on the ladder even at this early stage and they don't have Scully in the team for their next game so they have no chance in the absence of their $1m champion.
  2. I see the problem OD.Memory loss. You need to eat more bananas. They help against such ailments. FYI, Byrnes was a member of the 2007 and 2009 premiership teams and wasn't let go by the Cats at the end of 2011. It was the end of 2012 after playing in the Cats' sensational VFL premiership team. You've also forgotten about players having a second wind. The bloke was the matchwinner in one of our two wins last year - against GWS where he picked up two Brownlow votes. Name five MFC players who polled more than that number in 2013 - T$, Scott Thompson and Brent Moloney don't count.
  3. OK smartie. I challenge you to name another current MFC player to have played in two premierships.
  4. Excellent - most likely in the midfield while he learns the finer points of the crumbing forward game from our most successful player and the only one to have played in multiple AFL premiership teams.
  5. Proof that I'm not stirring - Shannon Byrnes has been included in the squad that's heading off to the red centre. As I have said before, he'll be our best # 10 since Cale Morton Big Carl!!!!
  6. Collingwood and Essendon in the bottom half of the ladder. I like to see that! Hawthorn 2 - - 272 76 357.9 8 Adelaide 2 - - 218 120 181.7 8 West Coast 1 - - 148 64 231.3 4 Sydney 1 - - 115 75 153.3 4 Western Bulldogs 1 - - 67 56 119.6 4 Richmond 1 1 208 174 119.5 4 Melbourne 1 - - 98 84 116.7 4 Geelong 1 - - 104 102 102.0 4 Carlton 1 1 - 161 192 83.8 4 Port Adelaide 1 1 - 149 184 81.0 4 Gold Coast 1 1 - 149 195 75.4 4 Brisbane 1 1 - 129 213 60.6 4 Essendon - 2 - 154 180 85.5 0 St. Kilda - 1 - 56 67 83.6 0 Collingwood - 2 -178 228 78.1 0 North Melbourne - 2 - 146 218 67.0 0 GWS Giants - 1 - 75 115 65.2 0 Fremantle - 1 - 64 148 43.2 0
  7. The inference being that Col could not have gotten those things at Melbourne under Roos?
  8. Watching Port Adelaide tonight, I saw quite a few young blokes running around like Wingard and Wines who tend to negate the philosophy that young players all need to be eased into the big time. I suspect a few will be given a chance on Friday and the fittest and best will survive .
  9. Colin hit by "friendly fire" - Sylvia to miss Bulldogs match
  10. Good to read that we're ready - We’re ready for NT conditions: Misson
  11. Problem is that your account was used either by your wife or yourself to publish information that is "knowingly false or misleading" (a breach of the COC) and given your prior record, I think it might be appropriate to give you and your wife a chance to kiss and make up and perhaps even take up CBDees' suggestion.See you in a week's time. Cheers
  12. No excuses tomorrow for no reports - plenty of notice and it looks like being a good day for training.
  13. If he is he's due for a long rest from this site.
  14. Good, can you explain what it means?
  15. Last night's game simply reinforced what we've known for a long time - the value of star players . Patrick Dangerfield had a relatively quiet night but in a brief patch of 5 minutes he broke the game open completely. If only we could develop a true champion from the 44 we have on our list?
  16. Skills not great again tonight but Adelaide ran all over Carlton in the final quarter. The Blues were badly beaten at the stoppages and their disposal was very ordinary. Here's the unofficial NAB Challenge ladder after tonight's game - Hawthorn 2 - - 272 76 357.9 8 Adelaide 2 - - 218 120 181.7 8 West Coast 1 - - 148 64 231.3 4 Sydney 1 - - 115 75 153.3 4 Western Bulldogs 1 - - 67 56 119.6 4 Richmond 1 1 208 174 119.5 4 Melbourne 1 - - 98 84 116.7 4 Geelong 1 - - 104 102 102.0 4 Carlton 1 1 - 161 192 83.8 4 Gold Coast 1 1 - 149 195 75.4 4 Brisbane 1 1 - 129 213 60.6 4 Essendon - 1 - 89 90 98.9 0 St. Kilda - 1 - 56 67 83.6 0 Collingwood - 2 -178 228 78.1 0 North Melbourne - 2 - 146 218 67.0 0 GWS Giants - 1 - 75 115 65.2 0 Port Adelaide - 1 - 59 119 49.6 0 Fremantle - 1 - 64 148 43.2 0 * exclusive to Demonland

  18. This is what the site says:- Well ... if there are no reports, we won't have the usual hysteria or mass panic we otherwise might had if one of the players had a scheduled rest morning and didn't turn up.
  19. It's probably, the lateness of notice because I looked at the club site a couple of days ago and it didn't mention today or Wednesday's sessions.
  20. You're right - ladder adjusted to correct computer malfunction. A few aliens are still holding up the ladder.
  21. Now, here's an odd fact about the current unofficial NAB Challenge ladder*. The bottom four and five of the bottom six teams ATM come from outside of Victoria. My conclusion is that some of these foreigners don't treat the NAB Challenge with the respect it deserves! The problem with my theory is that three of the top four also come from out of the state but I'm sure there's a reason for that too. Hawthorn 2 - - 272 76 357.9 8 West Coast 1 - - 148 64 231.3 4 Adelaide 1 - - 119 59 201.7 4 Sydney 1 - - 115 75 153.3 4 Western Bulldogs 1 - - 67 56 119.6 4 Richmond 1 1 208 174 119.5 4 Melbourne 1 - - 98 84 116.7 4 Carlton 1 - - 100 93 107.5 4 Geelong 1 - - 104 102 102.0 4 Gold Coast 1 1 - 149 195 75.4 4 Brisbane 1 1 - 129 213 60.6 4 Essendon - 1 - 89 90 98.9 0 St. Kilda - 1 - 56 67 83.6 0 Collingwood - 2 -178 228 78.1 0 North Melbourne - 2 - 146 218 67.0 0 GWS Giants - 1 - 75 115 65.2 0 Port Adelaide - 1 - 59 119 49.6 0 Fremantle - 1 - 64 148 43.2 0 * exclusive to Demonland
  22. Like ESP. Now that SA have made what has to be seen as a reasonably sporting declaration given they're a bowler short but taking into account the possibility of rain, let's see if our batters can put their heads down and do something we rarely see from the Australians. SA did it in Adelaide when they toured here; let's see if we can return the favour.
