  1. ... and Spain had to accept the WADA ruling lest it become an outcast in world sport i.e no Olympics, no World Cup etc. As powerful as the vested interests might be, they will not be able to overcome WADA if it deems that the appropriate action has not been undertaken: in other words, if the WADA Code has not been upheld.
  2. Why have you guys starting to discuss matters football. You're neglecting the banana industry and it's not fair.
  3. To think that they were all out 47 in the equivalent innings at this ground just two years ago!
  4. So, following on from the pen pic of Billy Stretch, here are the next six draft prospects from the AFL Prospectus: I did see Angus Brayshaw at MFC training in January out at Casey Fields and he didn't look a bit out of place. Whoever gets him should be happy.
  5. A B de Villiers - key wicket. We've got them by the throat.
  6. If Roos is indeed trying to get the group to take chances, then why not try your hand against the best of the best? These blokes are footballers, not choir boys. They'll learn more from taking on the Hawks than some of the half baked outfits I saw running around in some of the NAB Challenge games.
  7. Percy Beames, Stuie Spencer, Ian Ridley and I reckon Johnny Townsend was good early in his career until he did his knee. Rovers went out of vogue for a while but JKH could be our next one.
  8. He's there till the end of the year by which time the fan will have been well and truly soiled. I think his response about him not injecting anyone was a fine repartee to those who seem to want to turn that issue into one of blaming ASADA for the slowness of its processes when it's absolutely clear that whilst the players have given their evidence as best they can, the club they play for might not have been as forthcoming with information as they should be - I refer to their Sergeant Shultz attitude of "ve know nussing".
  9. Now, let's talk football. Getting to the game that's going to happen on Saturday, it's good to see that we escaped injury from the Alice Springs trip with Jimmy Toumpas pulling up fine after copping a whack on the head from Billie Smedts - Toumpas set to play against Hawthorn. Likely to play against the Hawks are Jack Viney, James Frawley, Cam Pedersen and Jay Kennedy-Harris with big men Chris Dawes, Max Gawn and Mark Jamar also being considered. ~ Josh Mahoney.
  10. That unknown and unnamed sponsor needs to sign up soon if they want weekly national exposure on Fox Footy.
  11. Paul Roos on AFL360. I didn't see that coming!
  12. Tonight I'm going to watch AFL360 on Fox Footy Channel at 7.30pm. When it's over, I will turn over to Channel 10 to watch a new programme called "Secrets and Lies". I have a feeling that at some time during the evening I won't know which one's which.
  13. Saints look like being without Lenny Hayes and Maverick Weller who were both handed one match suspensions today. Funny thing is that I was talking to a Saints fan on Saturday morning and he told me that his team would be without its best player for their game against Melbourne, meaning Jack Steven. I told him that he was wrong and that IMO Lenny Hayes is their best player. Anyway, he turned out to be right. They will be without their best player.
  14. Please keep things civil. I'm getting RSI just deleting posts that are insulting of others and totally superfluous to this thread. Next step will be holidays.
  15. I happened to be driving to an appointment today and Robbo was talking on SEN about his newspaper's revelation of the player's named in the interim report. He was building himself up to a crescendo and finished by blaming everything on ASADA. Now, I don't know who leaked the information to Robbo but as sure as hell, I know why and that was to discredit the ASADA investigation. Without doubt, there will be more to come tonight on AFL360.
  16. Injury list per the Age:- ► Mitch Clark (hamstring) 2-3 weeks ► Chris Dawes (calf) Test ►Colin Garland (ankle) 2-4 weeks ► Cameron Pedersen (hamstring) 1 week ► Aidan Riley* (leg) 6 weeks ► Luke Tapscott (knee) 2 weeks
  17. Very true OD but my disappointment is with Whateley who I once regarded above that but has since become another sock puppet for Murdoch. Shame.
  18. What we are seeing is the continuation by segments of the media to manipulate the narrative away from the primary story of an alleged sophisticated programme involving the injecting of AFL footballers with prohibited substances to one of the integrity of the organisation that has been invested with the carrying out of that investigation. This has been the Murdoch agenda for quite some time and its insidiousness is palpable. We got a preview of things to come from Gerard Whateley who chaired yesterday's edition of the Offsiders on ABC1 but who will also co-chair AFL360 with Robertson commencing tonight on Fox Footy. Whateley keeps parroting the line used by the Bombers that ASADA told them (presumably through their agent Dank) that AOD9604 was not prohibited (a claim that has never been verified and sits in the face of what the WADA Code states) and that the thymosin used in the programme was legal although it is said that "the AFL and ASADA investigation could find no source of legal thymosin being sourced by Essendon" (Players union hits naming of Dons over drug use). Whateley has been plain wrong on this from the very get go and he was also wrong on the Offsiders when he made the outrageous claim that nothing new had come to light since the interim report. I would have thought that the revelation by Patrick Smith last week (in the Oz) that ASADA had access to ACC material including two comprehensive interviews with Dank would be game chargers. Yet we can expect Whateley and Robinson to repeat the same old stuff tonight and scratch their heads wondering why Dank hasn't been called up to give evidence. What a pity there will be no opportunity for a dissenting view on that programme or that Roy Masters didn't appear in the Offsiders yesterday.
  19. And thanks to Paul Gardner for his excellent coaching and all of the players who continued our story of dominance over the years at this game. Thanks also to our opposition who pushed us hard early until Bonna stamped himself on the game with another outstanding performance at full forward.
  20. An excellent session with the skipper getting his 27th test century and remaining not out at lunch. Smith a bit stuff to miss out on the ton but we're well on the way to a 500+ score and we have the capacity to punish a Steynless attack.
  21. A bit of Sunday night fun from Titus O'Reilly - ASADA's provisional banned substances list - season 2015
  22. Big victory for the Dees 19.16.130 to Bombers 5.7.37 and that result catapults us to top of the ladder on percentage after round 1.
  23. Three quarter time: Dees 11.10.76 to Bombers 3.7.25
