I’ve always found the phantom drafts of bigfooty’s Snoop Dog to be interesting, entertaining and informative. In Michael Gleeson’s Age article, The Age AFL to introduce mid-season rookie draft in 2019 he says that in addition to the new mid-season rookie draft the AFL is “also set to allow clubs to add a player to their rookie list during the pre-season if they have a spot available or if they lose a player to a long-term injury or retirement”. This will apply to the period between December 1 and March 15 at which time clubs could place players “on one of three inactive lists: a long-term injury list, a season-ending list or a retired player list”. So you can leave a spot vacant at the drafts to allow yourself time to determine what player you want and you have a few months in which to do it.

I’ve never been able to master a complete understanding of how the bidding system works for f-s/academy picks. Let’s say a club nominates Toby Bedford at 31. Do I take it that if we bid for him, we would have to then give up picks worth the equivalent to the points allocated for pick #31? If so, that would leave us having used 23 & 28, taken Bedford and our next pick becomes 91 or its equivalent?

Bailey Williams at 28 would be ideal as a relieving ruckman who has uncontainable athleticism as a marking forward. If one of the Demons' preferred choices in the 20s is unavailable, midfielder Sydney Stack would add further class to the club's engine room. Through their NGA, Toby Bedford will provide speed and pressure through the midfield and up forward.

Should be in the real top 30, possible top 20.
