  1. Blues not the same since Acres went off.
  2. GWS deserve to be in the eight. They are a decent side.
  3. Two Rivers. One I assume is McVee who does quietly destroy opponents!
  4. 6. Viney 5. Petracca 4. Fritta 3. ANB 2. McVee 1. May
  5. True. You should never be objective when talking about other teams. Hurl some abuse. Shock people at how low your emotional intelligence is.
  6. Not a fashionable thing to say on here but gutsy performance by the Dogs. Every single one of them has cracked in hard.
  7. Wonder if the club thinks he has enough elite traits to make it? The want and willingness is obviously there. If he wasn't Doggy's son would he even be considered?
  8. Did not see the Disco selection coming this late in the season, but kudos. Goodwin I guess signalled it with Tomo being subbed twice. Disco is far superior in the air and quicker. Courageous call.
  9. Couple of observations. Grundy isn't very strong overhead. Even at Collingwood contested marks were not really his thing. His tap work and ability to get involved with ground balls and linking up is his strength. But if he is doing this, what is Max doing? We were often top heavy in the forward line and opposition teams waltzed the ball out of their defence. On the other side against Essendon, Phillips and Draper ran hard to provide a deep option in the forward line and neither Grundy or Gawn could go or went with him.
  10. Tracc has a Brownlow to win!
  11. Is Roo really a ginger? I would say strawberry blonde!
  12. Ridiculous. Smith has been excellent in every role he's been given in the past two months.
  13. Not 100 percent on this guy. Obvious talent coming third in rising star and more than 30 goals in only his second season. He's undersized for a key forward despite his aerial ability. Can be timid and his kicking can be awful. Petty, JvR, Fritta, a developing Jefferson + drafting a key position this year is perhaps enough?
  14. If we're looking for ruck backups, GWS are the ones. Flynn and Preuss could both be cheap.
  15. Said it in another thread a week or so ago but I think in a couple of years he could be the best player in the comp. Better we have him than another club! Dusty was a similar story seven years ago.
  16. Is Casey one of the wildcard finalists? If not, no game next weekend, right?
  17. Agree with this.
  18. Interesting thread. Just an observation when Kozzie is given close attention either by a strong direct opponent or by zone defence with midfielders flooding back he struggles to get the space he needs. His best final was against Geelong in 2021 Prelim when we he kicked three and we thrashed em. His other finals have been relatively quiet. I think we could use him better. Often he creates space and we don't use him. He's a nightmare matchup one-on-one for a defender. As mentioned we could throw him into the centre bounces more often to release the shackles a bit. At 22 years old you'd reckon he'd be close to the peak of his powers. Let's hope he turns it on this September.
  19. Supporters want some sort of certainty even when there is none! None of us know whether we are real contenders or pretenders like last year. The whole gammut of emotions are on offer! Locking in a top four position is good but guarantees you nothing.
  20. What I've liked this season is we've adjusted tactically to the likes of Hawthorn and Collingwood. The Hawks are hard to break down. Sure they had no Newcombe or Lewis but we were patient.
  21. 6. Lever 5. Rivers 4. Sparrow 3. JvR 2. Brayshaw 1. Petracca
  22. This thread is designed to tell fellow Melbourne fans how important this game is! Failure to do so will result in demerit points!
  23. Looked like it. Crows very stiff. Sounds harsh but four guys celebrating while the Swans were taking kick out could have made a huge difference.
  24. Wouldn't mind Sinclair and Steele either. Never play a poor game.
  25. Fairly meaningless game this one.
